We loved our dinner here! The wonderful gentleman at the front gave us some great suggestions with his favorites from the menu - you've GOT to try the Al Pastor tacos! They have great flavor - part of the talent of a good restaurant is mastering how to make simple ingredients taste wonderful, and this place has it down! The rice and beans are great too, and the chips are made in-house. Friendly service, patient staff, wonderful management, and a welcoming environment (even fun soccer games to watch!). Wow, Brassas, just Wow. Best street tacos I have had since I was in Los Angeles. Your $2 Carne Asada tacos are overflowing with savory chunks of beef. Then you threw on guacamole, cilantro and onions. I completed it with a scoop of chunky salsa from your generously stocked salsa bar. Nirvana. Brasas is amazing! Now let me tell you why. The food though, I mean you want Mexican food that's legit in Provo, you goto Brasas. My wife and I go there at least once a week and she loves it because she is gluten free and gets the street tacos with the corn tortillas. Each taco is $2, and each burrito is $8.....but here's the rub, once you get the amazing corn or flour tortilla with the savory carne asada y al pastor meats you can load them up with caramelized onions, radish, cucumbers, jalapenos, then your choice of 5 Salsas :) The owner and workers are super nice so that is a plus as well. Oh and they have big screen TVs everywhere and show big pay per view boxing matches free for all to watch. read more

I really think that this is one of the better real Mexican restaurants in Provo. I ordered the chile rellenos and my husband ordered the steak fajitas. Both literally came on a platter and one could definitely have fed both of us. I thought that the Chile relleno was really good and I especially loved the salsa bar. We had a really bad experience at this taco place. First they didn't have what we came from the grill onions and chiles. Than we asked for the tripa tacos to be really well done. The tacos had the tortillas hard and oily, the tripa was soft an soggy. We told them if they could fix the problem, they put the hole taco on the grilled with the pico and cilantro and put them back on the same tortilla, what?!!! Alright, come here for the meats. Smokey chicken, real steak strips with legit grill marks. The meat brings me back, and the salsa bar. Usually, I'm not a fan of self-serve buffet style anything (grosses me out), but their salsa bar always looks clean and I've never seen little children messing about in the salsa, so I continue to eat it. We've been to Brasas many, many times now. It's close to home, you get massive portions of food, and they don't skimp on the meat. This location offers fajitas, and the other one doesn't (as of Aug. 2016), and that's one reason I like this location better. Another is the quality of the food. While they're both pretty good, I've had dried out chicken that made my mouth feel like I'd eaten chalk at the other one. This happened once, so maybe it was a fluke, but it turned me off to the other location. Plus those outside tents get crazy hot in the summer, especially when there is a group of people inside. The burritos are all easily sharable. They are massive. My husband (6'2, about 210 and loves food) barely finishes one burrito, and when he does actually eat the whole thing, he feels like rolling home. That's just the regular burritos. The smothered burritos? You get the normal massive burrito smothered in a crazy amount of cheese, beans, guac (changes depending on what you order); it's HUGE. The fajitas are also huge, and my husband and I sometimes share one order of the mixed meat fajitas. You realize how reasonably priced the food is once you see how big the portions are. One of the things I miss having when we go to Brasas is beer. No alcohol here, but go there with that in mind and it's not a big deal. I'd order it to go, grab some salsa from the bar and pick up a six pack from the grocery store. :-) There's also a drive through that's somewhat complicated to figure out at first; it's at he very back of the parking lot. A note on cheese: don't order a side of cheese. It's just a bit of shredded cheese, no sauce here. read more

Disappointed. My husband and I ordered the Burrito Al Pastor with pineapple and it didn't have any flavor whatsoever. Actually pretty disgusting. I really cant review the food. I ordered steak fajitas when I arrived from out of town. I got it to go, get back to my hotel after a long day and flight in, change to pj's and get ready to dig in.....they forgot the steak in my fajitas. Wth! I called and they couldn't bring the steak but wanted me to come in for a free meal next time. I was flying out the next day after a meeting. I paid $14 for onions and bell peppers. This place is DOPE! I'm from California and can unfortunately fit the stereotype as being very snobby with Mexican food (sorry Cafe Rio is not Mexican and will never be anything close to it), but Brasas is as legit as it gets when it comes to street tacos. I love going on weekdays between 4:00 and 5:00 pm after class for the buy one get one free deal on the tacos. Usually al pastor is the worst Taco that a place serves, but the al pastor here is phenomenal. It is full of flavor and is anything but dried out. The chorizo is also excellent. Honestly, you can't go wrong with any of the tacos. So far I've only had the tacos but I've loved every bite. The salsa selection is very extensive and authentic as well. The staff is super friendly and just the coolest bunch of Mexicans/Hispanics you'll meet. read more

The food there was the shityest food I have eaten all year. The bread was hard, the meat was tough, and the buffet was sub par and below McDonald's standards. Brasas is amazing. The spices and flavors take you right to mexico, but in a clean, warm environment and a toppings bar you can load up on. They have sauces that will make you cry from spiciness and tacos in all their varieties that will make you cry from joy because they are so delicious. read more

Hands down best legit mexican food I've had in Utah. Love love love this place. The food is delicious. I always order my usual 3 carne asada tacos on corn tortillas. They are great plain but just wait till you load them up with all the toppings you can think of, as if it could get any better! My favorite toppings are the carmelized onion, radish, pico de gayo, salsas, and fresh squeezed lime. The prices are good, the staff are friendly, and the food is excellent, what more could you ask for? read more
