Love coming here for a quick lunch. One of our favorite spots to stop as they have great lunch specials for a good price and plenty of food. The service is always pretty quick for lunch but we haven't stopped in on a dinner night to gauge the speediness of that. Also has always been clean. We never notice tables being dirty for a long duration and we are always sat in a clean section. I have nothing against the people who run this place, and I'd love to even be the first 3-star review, but unfortunately the food just kinda sucked. The service was friendly, if a tad slow. I ordered rice & beans with my burrito, which never came (the waitress asked if everything looked right and I didn't notice, when she came back after we'd already finished our burritos she kindly removed the rice & beans from the check.) Again, I don't really want to knock the service or the general clean environment. But dude, this was some flavorless food. I ordered a carne asada burrito and unfortunately asked for it not to be smothered. It was a tortilla, not wrapped, just rolled and filled with the meat and that's it. So basically I ordered a non-smothered carne asada burrito not knowing it was basically a barebones carne asada enchilada without the sauce. My wife's bean burrito was a similar situation; the rice and beans she had on the side weren't flavorful, and the rice was kinda crunchy/underdone. The salsa was fine, even if the amount of (somewhat stale) complimentary chips was small. It wasn't super busy, it was clean, and everyone in there was nice. It wasn't very expensive either. I'm not usually one to write a bad review, but today was not a good experience, went with my son's family to celebrate mother's day, it's his wife's favorite place, today was not that experience, when they finally took our order she ordered a #6 with no chicken, I have no idea what was brought to her, so when they took it back, they brought it with chicken, finally just accepted the order, waited almost 30 minutes for drinks, and the food was flavorless, except the birria tacos, they were good, never got drink refills and we finally left, I seriously hope it was just an off day, as I realize everyone has a bad day, I will be going back just to make sure it is not a permanent thing read more

This used to be mine and my wife's favorite Mexican restaurant in town. The last two visits were the end of our 22 year weekend and lunch tradition. Word is that the parents left the businesses to the kids and they raised the prices, shrunk the portions, and made good service obsolete. Two visits ago, we waited over an hour for our food, it was barely warm when we got our food. The last time we went, to give it another try. We waited 25 minutes after being seated, no server brought us menus, water or chips and salsa. We must have had our cloaking device on. We apparently became invisible. Hello. This is normally my favorite restaurant to eat at. Today for Mother's day I chose to go here to eat. It was an absolute horrible experience. The chips were kind of stale. And it also took almost 30 minutes after being seated to get our drinks. There was only one other party in the restaurant at the same time. I had asked for the lunch special which was a chile Verde burrito and a chicken enchilada that also came with rice and beans. I had asked for no chicken. Just a cheese enchilada with the chile Verde burrito. Food took forever to come out. My order was completely wrong. It came out to me with a chicken enchilada and what looked like a tortilla with beans folded in half. I told him I wanted a chile Verde burrito with a CHEESE enchilada. He takes my plate back and comes back with a chile Verde burrito and a CHICKEN enchilada. The bottom of the burrito was so hard I couldn't eat it. It also was so bland and had no flavor and he never checked on us nor refilled our drinks. I'm not sure if I will ever go back even though it was my favorite. I never don't tip. At first sight the place was clean, but when I came I was the only patron. I was led to a table which was clean. Given a menu and was asked right away if I knew what I wanted. I needed some time. So they went to get my drink. Brought back my drink, fresh chips and salsa. I ordered #5 which all combos (according to the menu come with rice and beans), but both were missing. I would have asked but once I was served the waiter never came, nor even made eye contact with me. So I got shredded chicken (apparently nothing else, not even sour cream/guacamole) in a flour tortilla, shredded beef (same set up but half the size), and a taco (again nothing more), chips/salsa, and one fill on a drink for $17. I'm from Southern California, lives in Downtown Los Angeles, San Diego, and I frequently visit Mexico. I was in Utah Visiting Family in Payson, Utah. I came across this gem tucked back in a small strip mall. I ordered a carne asada burrito, smothered. My meal cam out fast, and hit! Tasted great, with plenty of big, chunks of steak. I loved the flavor, and was stuffed after I devoured it. The chips and salsa were great too! This small joint reminded me of times in puerto penasco, Mexico City, and LA. I live in St George and every time I drive anywhere near Payson I take the time to stop at this restaurant. Over the years it has gotten a little worse but I loved it so much that I hoped it would get better. The smothered burritos have never changed and always been amazing. Till tonight I will no longer go to this restaurant. I was traveling from St. George to Logan anticipating this stop. We got there and my daughter and I were the only 2 there. It was a little later after 8PM. The chips and salsa were brought out with maybe half a bowl of chips we had them gone before the waitress takes our order. We were never offered more. My daughter and I both order 2 smothered burritos. Here's with cheese mine with cheese and onions. Then a side of fries. Her burritos and the fries came out and as she was eating I called to the waitress for a refill on my soda. It was now about 5 minutes after my daughter got her order. The waitress puts the broom down and fills the soda. Never washing her hands. About 20 minutes after my daughter gets and finished her food I just ask for the check. When the waitress went to get it the cook called to let her know my order was ready. I was angry and told her I did not want it at this point. They never offered a box or anything. I am definitely not asking for free food. I was so mad that even if they boxed then up and put them in my car I probably would not have eaten them. They just looked at me and acted like I was completely stupid. I may have pulled a Karen after they made me feel like I was completely wrong. What happened to this restaurant? If I could give zero stars I would do so. My wife and I went in last week. We was seated prettY quickly is the only reason they get one star. We waited and waited for someone to come to out table and after twenty minutes they brought us chips and salsa and asked what we wanted to drink. 15-20 minutes later they brought the drinks and asked if we wanted more chips which he never brought. He finally took our order after the long wait. We waited what seemed like a long time and then he brought the meal out to the person sitting next to us who arrived 30 minutes after us. I ask him what the hell was hell was going on with over order and he blamed the cooks for messing up our order. Several minutes later he brought my order of street tacos out which consisted of tortillas and me and cold beans and rice. The plate was literally cold. Not something I have ever seen from a latin food resteraunt. The tacos were with out a doubt the absolute worst tasting "street tacos"I have ever ate. Meat and tortillas, that's it. Nothing else with them. Terrible service, followed by terrible food. I ordered 4 tacos, 2 carne asada, and two others. I ate about 1/2 of each taco and about 1/2 of the cold rice and beans and could not stomach any more of them. The server asked if we wanted any extra chips and salsa (which he never brought). after going home I went straight Tom the bathroom and everything I did eat came right back up. So. $35 went straight down the toilet. Then I woke up the next day and I have hives all over my face. I know I will never eat at theirs place again. Update: I'm going to leave my original post, but beware of what you leave in your reviews. YOU WILL BE HARASSED AND BULLIED. If they wanted a negative review removed they went about it in the wrong way. Is that the kind of establishment you want to support? It's a tactful way of keeping higher ratings when it's not deserved. I left an honest opinion. Deal with it. Maybe it's because I'm from Southern California and now live in Utah? Maybe it's because the others who wrote reviews have never had REAL Mexican food? I took a leap and went based off the other reviews and the convenience of it's location based on our day. The rice, was the worst rice I've ever had. The salsa was basically PACE with Jalapeños added to it (minus the seeds). I got the smallest kids cup for my soda which was never offered to or refilled without being asked, good thing I had a water to choke it all down with. It's completely over priced for what you get. When my husband went to the counter to pay because a check was never brought to us after we were clearly finished, he pulled a toothpick out of container and had a cockroach scurry about on the counter. GROSS! I will never come back. Don't mess with me and my food. read more

I read someone's review and she said something about how the people who have reviewed this place have never had real Mexican food, I have never agreed with something more in my life. Maybe it's because Im from Las Vegas and I've been to Mexico and not your typical Cancun trip to Mexico I mean I went to the coast and visited some amazing small cities full of REAL Mexican culture and REAL traditional Mexican food. So mind you i've had some AMAZING Mexican cuisine and this is by far the worst place i've ever been. I've gave this place THREE CHANCES. It was awful every time. I've ordered an enchilada, it was DISGUSTING, i've ordered a taco i mean come on it's just a taco and it was awful, meat was dry, shell was stale. The rice and beans are always cold and the rice is always hard. The chips are always cold and the salsa is never great but it's not terrible. Service is iffy i don't know why they just don't close down this place, employees don't wanna work then don't make them. Today I ordered a typical easy bean and cheese burrito as takeout I get home and it's completely flat like an enchilada almost, it's not even rolled like a burrito and it was not stuffed like a burrito. I genuinely don't even know what you would call what they gave me. The beans in it tasted old stale and cold the tortilla was its own disaster stale, flat, smashed down and crispy? and don't even get me started on my side of rice. I couldn't even eat my food, it's in the trash now. Waste of my money.All i have to say is DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU LOVE MEXICAN FOOD. You will be extremely disappointed. My family loves this place and we have eaten here more times than I can remember. It is definitely low budget but the food is delicious and the service is generally very good. You get your food quickly and they keep you in chips while you are waiting. My wife loves the chimichangas. When I'm really hungry I go for the Mexican steak which will definitely fill you up. I wouldn't recommend this place to a starving dog. The health standards are very low , the environment is dingy, and makes you wonder why you are there. The servers are not very attentive, and they charge you $1.75 for any bowl of chips after the first one that they give you. They also charge you for salsa, and everything else that they can get you for. Amazingly, straws are still free, with your soda, which costs about $2.00. The worst thing about the prices, is that the quality of the experience, is not worth all of the bad parts about this place. As mentioned by another reviewer, the specialty is smothered burritos. They are delicious, but they will cost you, about $4.00 each(unless you get a combo). My recommendation, is to go to Los 3 Amigos, located in Provo, UT. It is so much better, in every aspect. Seemed fairly unfriendly wasn't as clean as I would like had this weird air conditioner right next to us the floor was dirty table was sticky asked for a glass of water and you brought a picture without a cup kept having to ask for silverware multiple times. Great food, I recommend the cheese enchilada and green chili smothered burrito. The #3 combination is also very good. As stated in the other reviews Los 4 has great people working. The decor leaves much to be desired but the food makes up for the difference.
