    Maracuya Sour- quite tart

I went here with my son. I decided to try one of the drinks since it was happy hour. It was a little too sour for me. My son ordered the Frijol con Seco and loved it. I had the Arroz con Mariscos- so much flavor with a generous amount of seafood, though the squid tentacles were a little too chewy. The restaurant has the homey feel of eating with family that I love, but our waitress wasn't very attentive, so we ran out of water.

The chicken here is finger-liking ready! Also, you can't go wrong with Pisco sour. Or the maracuya one. Its delicious!!! It's a bit pricey, but it's worth the quality you get. The staff is super nice and ready to be of service. The place is big enough to chose your seat. They will let you enjoy the food and have an experience. The alfajor cookies are a must to have!!!

Loves our visit here! My boyfriend and I found brasas peruanas on Yelp and decided to make the drive to round rock to have some yummy Peruvian food. We drove around 30-45 min to round rock and sat down in a little place with incredibly friendly people. We ordered a chicken and beef empanada, a lomo saltado, and their rice with seafood. Every single thing was soo delicious and bursting with flavor. The lomo saltado lasted 5 minutes on our plate before it was gone, my boyfriend LOVED it. The seafood rice was also so delicious. At the end, we ordered some peruvian cookies that were filled with condensed milk and were absolutely incredible. Would 100% make the drive to come back for some authentic latin food!

Found by accident while walking from the library to the RR Arts Festival. I imagine that Peruvian climate is elevated and ascetic. So too was our first experience of Peruvian food. Every item was thoughtfully prepared, every sauce separated from its dish, everything presented beautifully with exactly the proper garnish and plating. The service was attentive without being intrusive, the seating felt intimate but not crowded, and the selection of cocktails and adult beverages extraordinary. Open 7 days/week and offers delivery and takeout options. So busy enjoying the cuisine that I have no idea about WiFi or parking. How soon can I go back?

Such a great little spot! High quality food and everything tasted great. Everything you want in a Peruvian food restaurant. Everyone who I dined with loved their food (they got a vegetarian dish, fried rice, and half chicken). I want to go back and try their ceviche!

Unassuming, approachable, yet delicious! From the outside you might think this is like any other Central/Southern American spots, but try it once and you'll see how special the food is - Peruvian at its best! Easy to get to with its location in downtown Round Rock, it's a good place to check out if you're in the area and crave for some ceviche or empanadas. Grilled heart was on the menu so I had to check it out - it was good, but relatively plain. Ceviche was good, so were the empanada and the shredded chicken entree we got. Service was attentive with a casual vibe. We'll be back!

Loovvveeee meself some Peruvian Cuisine! I was just cruising around downtown Round Rock and caught the Brasas Peruanas sign out the corner of my eye. So, I pulled over and did a quick search on Yelp. I had to give it a shot based on the stellar reviews and I'm happy to report...no disappointments here! If you are heading to downtown Round Rock from the south side, Brasas Peruanas is one of the first restaurants you will come across as soon as you enter the down town area, especially if you are driving on Mays St. The venue has an interesting layout. A decent amount of seating, however the restaurant is split by a bar in the middle. As soon as you enter there is a seating area to your left, then a bar slightly to the right that is flanked by more seating. I opted to sit at the bar and enjoy my meal. There are a few parking spaces right outside the restaurant, but if the lot gets full there is an ample amount of street parking in the vicinity. #PeruvianEats: ~ Aji de Gallina - 4/5 Over the years I've learnt to gauge how good a Peruvian restaurant is based on their Aji de Gallina. A classic staple of Peruvian cuisine. They need to get this one right. The perfect balance of the sauce; not too spicy, yet creamy and nutty at the same time. Then there is the consistency of the shredded chicken; moist and juicy, can't be dry or stringy. This one checks all the boxes. ~ PISCO SOUR TRADITIONAL - 4/5 Love meself a good Pisco Sour. Well balanced; earthy, slightly sweet and tart without being overly sour. I'd love to try the other dishes when I'm back in the area.

Visited Brasas Peruanas for lunch on a Sunday, and can't wait to be back! The service was fast, attentive, and super friendly. We were seated right away. Our server checked on us several times. Our drinks came fast (my husband had a pisco sour and he loved it!). The ambiance was casual and lively, but not too loud. We got started with some yuca fries and the ceviche limone! That ceviche was absolutely delicious. So fresh, and so many textures with the corns. Beautifully seasoned. The yuca fries were pretty good too and that sauce is so addictive! For mains we got the lomo saltado and it was absolutely amazing. The beef was cooked perfectly and the sauce was so well balanced. The portions were pretty large which was great, because I got them to go, and it tasted even better the next day! I'd definitely want to be back to try more dishes off their menu. Highly recommend.

Authentic Flavors and a Heart of Gold - Brasas Peruanas in Round Rock Brasas Peruanas may be a small restaurant tucked away in Round Rock, but it has a big heart and bold flavors to match. We started with the fried plantains, and they hit just the right note, a perfect combo of sweetness and fried deliciousness that set the tone for the rest of the meal. The Lomo Saltado was absolutely terrific, wonderful tender succulent meat, fries that were just right, and rice with gravy that tied it all together beautifully. The Ají de Gallina was another standout creamy, flavorful, and deeply comforting. The portions? Generous is an understatement, we left with happy hearts and full to-go boxes. So much amazing food, and all at a very reasonable price. One small thing: as folks who are a bit hard of hearing, the music was just a notch too loud for us to catch everything our soft-spoken (but wonderfully attentive) server was saying. Great guy, we just wished we had subtitles to keep up with the conversation! Even with that, this little spot serves up big, authentic Peruvian flavors with genuine warmth and hospitality. A true hidden gem worth discovering.

Great service and good food! If you're looking to try Peruvian food you've got to give them a shot. It's close to downtown Round Rock so places to walk around to afterward. Order Salchipapas Sweet plantains Arroz con mariscos Ahi de gallina All good stuff. The salchipapas is really for those who don't want to venture out and try something different. Parking is pretty limited but not hard to find. We will be back!

Located in Downtown Round Rock, next door to Round Rock Donuts. They have the potential and the enthusiasm to really become great! They're friendly and serviceable, but not flawless. Attentive, but sometimes hard to catch them when they're very busy. Make sure your utensils appear clean. They need to pay a little closer attention to the overall cleanliness of their utensils and probably upgrade the interior, for a more clean look. Occupancy is 53 persons, but they lack adequate onsite parking; however street parking is available. Biggest upset of our first visit was that they ran out of rotisserie chicken and we were told that we would've had to wait one hour for it. When you think of visiting a Peruvian restaurant, you are more than likely craving that very popular Peruvian flavored rotisserie chicken. Was disappointed that they ran out. This should never happen. But this place is well-deserving of a second chance. Since they ran out of rotisserie chicken, we settled for fried rice with chicken for the kids. The kids enjoyed it, but it was truly just okay. It tasted a little off. Probably won't have our kids eat that again. We also asked for fries first the kids, but they failed to remember and didn't bring it out. By the time they realized it, we were ready to go. Wife had their Ají de Gallina. It included white rice and half a boiled egg. It was very rich and also enough to feed two. Good flavor, . Took the rest to go. I ordered Bistec A lo Pobre, which consisted of steak, garlic-flavored white rice (so good), a fried egg, salad, fries and just two pieces of fried plantain. They should've included at least 4-5 pieces of fried plantain. Nonetheless, this entree was so delicious and highly recommended. We weren't thrilled with their drinks menu, so we all had their Jugo de Parcha (passion fruit juice. A staple, and family favorite. We love lots of flavor in our food, and we love Peruvian cuisine, so we will definitely return.

The food was great. Intimate ambiance serving traditional Peruvian offerings. My son loved the alfajores. The Lomo Saltado was very flavorful. Would've preferred a bit bigger portion with more meat, but the price was reasonable so not a very big deal. The only thing that made me give them 4 instead of 5 stars is that there were only 3 tables seated in the restaurant and it took about 20-25 minutes for us to even have our drink order taken. Not ideal when dining with a 4 year old but it is what it is. Outside of that, the service was very friendly when it arrived and they were attentive once the drink order was taken. They have a few items on the menu u that can actually fill you up and serve as a whole meal if not that hungry for $5 or less which is nice for families or those dining on a budget. I'm not in round rock super often but would definitely be willing to give them another shot and hopefully an update to 5 stars when I am because everyone has an off night here and there as we all know!
