This is my first time ever eating Peruvian food. SoI I'm pretty excited to try something brand new. i ordered Adobo Limeno, Chicken Empenada and Plantain. I wanted a steak Empenada, but they are out of them at the moment. My wife ordered 1/4 chicken. The Adobo Limeno was really good. Slow cooked pork in a rich, unique sauce, with rice and some slow cooked sweet potato. I loved it. The plantain was great as well. A little hard to find. I've had it home cooked in Haiti, and Guatemala, and this was on par with those. My wife said her chicken was very good, and reminded her a little of Jerk chicken she's had in Jamaica. We had Crema Volteada for dessert. Very much like Flan, but in my opinion, the texture is just a little denser. I loved it. They just opened a few weeks ago and look like they are staying busy. Service was quick, and the waiter was able to take my order electronically (makes things go a little faster). They are in a kind of smallish restaurant building right next door to Round Rock Doughnuts (hmmmm.... maybe I want a doughnut for dessert). Atmosphere is not fancy. It has a small, family run vibe. The food is delicious and authentic. The ceviche, arroz chaufa, lomo saltado, and yuca fries are awesome. Don't skip out on the pisco sour either! Came during late lunch on a Friday cute little place with limited parking. We both ordered the quarter chicken that comes with fries and a salad. To taste we got the plantains, spinach and cheese empanada and pork tamal. The waitress brought out the sauces first and they are all very good. Chicken was moist and good flavor- whatever seasoning the put on the fries was tasty. The empanada was just 3 stars for me- the tamal was just a giant tamale with pork. Everything we ate was fabulous! We were brand new to Peruvian food. So that being said we could barely pronounce what we ordered.. we were thrilled with all of it! Their sauces are amazing. I was originally going to give this place 5 stars but had to dock off a star due to my latest experience there. ***FOOD*** - Tallarin Saltado Limeno (4.5/5) - This is usually my go to dish. It's basically stir fry noodles with beef. My only critique is that the meat can be a bit tough sometimes. - Empanada (5/5) - I've only gotten the beef empanada so far. They give you a slice of lime to squeeze into the empanada after you have taken a bite. This is the first time I've ever had an empanada that has a piece of hard boiled egg inside. Love it. - Causa (5/5) - From the picture menu, I initially thought this was a dessert until my friend ordered this once and I was shocked by how tasty it was. It doesn't fill me up but man this is yummy! - Chicken (3.5/5) - This comes with a salad and fries and 3 different sauces. I'm just okay with this. ***SERVICE*** Try going during non-peak hours. Everyone looks frantic when it's during rush hour. Usually when we go, there's only one or two other tables with diners but the latest time we went, it was pretty much a full house. I ordered the Causa and empanada while my partner ordered the Quarter Chicken. My food and the sauces for the chicken came out...but that was it. No chicken. We figured it was just taking awhile to prepare the chicken but 40 minutes later, our server came over to give us our bill. We were like um...we still haven't gotten our chicken... By this point, other parties that came in after us already ordered, ate, paid and left. During the whole time while we were waiting, we couldn't really flag any of them down because we were in the dining area by the bar section of the restaurant and all the servers were frantically rushing all around to serve the larger parties in the main dining area next to the kitchen. It was truly just an unfortunate dining experience for us that day. Hopefully this doesn't happen to us or to anyone else again. read more

I wish the empanada had some dipping sauce with it but I was actually making Peruvian food the next day anyway so I had ingredients for the sauce I wanted on hand, but that kind of defeats the purpose of takeout too. The empanada was fluffy and had just the right amount of scrumptious filling to delight the senses. The pisco sour was the perfect accompaniment to all of the proteins and nicely strung my nostrils. Food has insipid flavors- everything too sweet and too salty but lacking in real Peruvian flavors. Aji Gallino was odd tasting. Empanadas had savory fillings but were sprinkled with powdered sugar? Pork adobo was dry and its flavor was muted and weird. Had to drown everything in spicy sauce to make it palatable. The pumpkin-sweet potato doughnuts were tough. Do not recommend. After a reasonable amount of time, the waiter brought my wife and son's food. We waited for my food another 10min or so and I told my family to start without me. I looked around the place a few times for our waiter and I finally saw him chatting up with the only other table with customers. Not once did he glance over or return to ask about the food or to refill drinks and we were there for an hour. My family enjoyed their food, I only wish I would have gotten mine. Just discovered this place today. The chicken was fall off the bone delicious! The three sauces were unique and tasty....the red one is very hot, the green is creamy and smooth. The white sauce is tasty. The dressing for the salad was fabulous too. I changed out the French fries for white rice and was glad I did. Really tasty with any of the sauces on the rice. Takeout service experience was great. After reading the reviews I decided to try out the arroz con mariscos which consist of seafood mix, shrimp, calamari, and Mussel. Great experience today at Braasas. Before you order, just know that all the entrees give you way more than enough. I had the Jalea con Mariscos and the seasoning was great. I got mine with Mahi Mahi instead of the fish that comes with it (I think Swai). It also had mussels, shrimp, and calamari. The calamari was good but I like mine with a little more breading than they had. I would definitely get the dish again but would probably substitute the calamari for extra shrimp. The staff are friendly, the day we went they were a bit short staff but we still got a great service and the food in a timely manner. We ordered a ceviche mixto as a starter and it was super delicious, with lots of flavor, lots of lime and the seafood was delicious and fresh. The lime juice cooks the seafood so you can expect a delicious well balanced citrusy flavor As for our main dish we ordered lomo saltado, the beef was super tender and the tomato and red onions that compliment the plate were delicious. We got seated really fast. It was fairly empty in there. We didn't get asked what we wanted to drink for at least 5 mins. Ordered some beers. That was fast to come out. Any other restaurant at least offers water with a drink, they didn't. We had to ask. Seemed like we were bothering them for water though. Food was brought out and we never got asked anything again.
