Peruvian fried rice? Count me in I was in the Linc for a calligraphy class and worked up an appetite. I saw this restaurant and decided to check it out. My waitress was friendly and the atmosphere was very casual. I decided to take a chance and get the Peruvian fried rice. My rice had chicken and shrimp. They gave me soy sauce and a spicy sauce. I didn't use the spicy sauce and one pack of soy sauce was enough. This rice was so good and flavorful. I wish I had more shrimp! Overall my experience was good and I could see myself going back !

I don't think there's a lot of Peruvian restaurants in the Austin Metro area. I tried Lima Criolla during my visit to Austin. It helped quench my ceviche craving. Being Peruvian, I get these cravings often and I like to try different spots during my different trips throughout the year. Service was really kind. And they also gave us some small complimentary pastries to go. Their menu is pretty big and their inside seating space is also pretty large.

The service here is wonderful . The server Denise is wonderful,. She is so helpful. It's her birthday and she is still so helpful. She remembered I always get the guava soda here. We ordered papa rellena and tacu tacu limeno,. Every time I come no matter how crowded it is, Denise and the others go out of their way to be helpful. Suzanna the owner is very sweet. We did a survey and got a free caramel cookie. It was delicious. We were celebrating our anniversary and Suzanna asked if we got a free dessert. I took my husband here . It was his first time. We will be back.

It was Amy first time here and overall it's a good experience. It was not too crowded and there was aplenty of space. We went here for lunch. Ceviche was really good with great contrast of citrusy and earthy flavors. I good option for when you're craving something somewhat light and refreshing. We also had Tallarin Verde. I've never had such dis before and I was pleasantly surprised! I wished the steak was available at custom temperature though. The non-alcoholic drinks were worth trying. I had Maracuya which was pretty sweet and tropical and my boyfriend had Chicha Morada which somewhat tasted like Christmas in a cup (I'd add some rum to it probably)

Papa Rellena - Stuffed mashed potato, reshaped and stuffed with a seasoned beef. So indescribably delicious. Taken in 2022

Over the years that I've dined here, "Lima Corolla" has certainly raised the bar and continue to improve on service, quality and taste of their meals. I've reviewed them a few times and we've hit some peaks and valleys. But since the expansion repurposed space the did by moving the bar to the center of the restaurant, they have earned five stars in my book. They started a new "Tour of Peru" menu by combining several Peruvian dining favorites. One in particular, they combined the Peruvian Fried Rice(chafa) and their "Lomo Saltado", into an amazing combo dish. I have always ordered this separately and I'm so glad they made this a menu item. So if you love Peruvian food or have never tried it, come on down and take the culinary tour of deliciousness at Lima Criolla, you won't be disappointed. Michael C. - Georgetown, Tx.

This was my very first time trying a Peruvian restaurant in Austin and it was totally worth it! The food was super tasty and full of flavor. The star for me was the ceviche mixto and the causa de pollo, both were amazing so delicious. I also had a chicha morada and it was really good. My friends loved the arroz con mariscos and the chupe de la limeña, you can't go wrong with the seafood here, everything was delicious! The place itself is cozy, with seating both inside and outside and it has a nice vibe. Service was okay our server felt a bit distant also it took a bit of time for our food to come out, but overall everything the food definitely made up for it.

Good spot a few times I've been. It looks like they recently remodeled and there is more space inside now. Can't go wrong with the food here. Some of the non alcoholic drinks are also worth getting.

I recommend this spot, because it's the closest authentic Peruvian food in Austin. I've had better, but they satisfy my Lomo Saltado and Chicha Morada cravings.

Casual spot with a pretty big parking lot (although the spots are kind of small and annoying) and no wait on a Monday evening! The pricing isn't too bad and the portion sizes are nothing to complain about. And the workers are pretty friendly. We got Carapulcra - Not the prettiest looking dish but still really good! The thick stewy potatoes were so delicious alongside the rice. I think it was supposed to be garlic rice but looked and tasted like plain rice to me. The pork was good too, but I wish it was a little more tender and juicy. It was a little too dry for me. 1/2 Polla a la Brasa - the chicken was so juicy, I would definitely recommend this dish. I love that it comes with several sauces: rocoto, aji pollero, mayo, and vinaigrette dressing for the salad. (And also glad it came with salad because it was nice to have some light veggies along with everything else.) And the fries were also really good but fries are almost always really good.

My friend and I both enjoyed what we ordered here. She had been once before and suggested we go. I got the chicken plate that comes with salad & fries, and she got a steak, rice, and fries plate. Came with plenty of different sauces to try. Good prices. Quick and friendly service, inside and outside seating, vast menu. I would return!

My favorite local restaurant. It's affordable, I can always get a table, and it's super casual. And service is prompt. Drinks are always tasty. This time I tried the tamal. It was big, a little dry but had a great flavor. Empanada was a different than I expected. The dough was sweet and it had boiled egg inside.

The seafood soup is so flavorful and has every kind of seafood you can imagine. The fried catfish fillet is the best. Much try this place.

The restaurant is open and welcoming with a substantial outdoor patio as well as the indoor seating. Our server was friendly and very helpful with finding food that worked around my food intolerances. I started with a Pisco sour traditional. It was tart and delicious, very well made. Then I ordered the Lobo saltado with sirloin, minus the onions. The meat was tender and had so much flavor, and the fries were perfect for sopping up the delicious sauce. The garlic rice I gave my son, and he said it was delicious. He ordered the Pan con Chicharron. He ate every bite and said it was delicious. They were very generous with the meat in both our meals. We can't wait to come back again.

I've only been once and it's definitely not gonna be the last time. In fact, we've got an upcoming reservation that's been on the books for quite sometime. They've managed to remain delicious, relevant and in demand 50 years! That's saying something. I'll tell you what that says...it says they rule! Reservations can be tricky to get but oh so worth it. The bar & atrium are fantastic and they boast a generous happy hour. The restaurant area and entire space are decorated wonderfully. Amazing artwork adorns the walls, they've got extensive art all about, vaulted ceilings and more. It's kind of like being in a hacienda. It feels like you're in Mexico. Truly. The restaurant and food are upscale without being pretentious. How refreshing! Speaking of refreshing...they've got cocktails and mocktails that will knock your socks off. I'm a big fan of the Nojito. My boyfriend loves the Mexican martini (it's primo). Let's talk about food. Wow-wee is it everything and then some. This is the kind of Tex-Mex flavor that sends your tastebuds into a tailspin of goodness! On our visit we did a salsa flight (we did 3 salsas), the queso (melted muenster and Oaxacan), Wagyu beef tacos, and chicken verde enchiladas. We did a spread like that in order to share everything. Food so good I'd give ten stars if I could. I can't put my finger on it but there's just something so special about the food, the taste of it, and the quality. It's just incredible flavor explosion bite after bite. If I had to guess, I'd say the food has been made with love, skill, and attention to detail all these years. Hence, their amazing reputation. Service is beyond compare. Hands down some of the best I've experienced in all of my worldly travels. Fonda San Miguel (Tzintzuntzan) is a dream come true! After some serious squealing Scion tires I pulled up in front of Antojitos Hondureños just next to the Quicky Tattoo. Which to do first? Eat Honduran or grab a tattoo? The name didn't fool me, I knew I good tattoo takes upward of 6 minutes and I only had 4 at my disposal. Antojitos didn't disappoint. I perused the menu and found pleasure in the platano based dishes. I asked the señor in the window in perfect, broken Spanish what the best plato was on the menu. The response? Todos. Typico. After I wagged my finger he recommended the carne asada which I promptly procured. Price was a bit more than I anticipated: $8 but the portion was huge! Strips of steak, pickled onion, cabbage, plaintains, beans, and a block of cheese. The carne was quite good (except a bit salty) as were the plaintains and onions. I found the beans and cheese just too salty for these buds. Kudos for the large portions, friendly delivery, and Hondurenness of it all. I will definitely volver.

Baleadas are large soft and fluffy flour tortilla with a swipe of black beans, cheese and a sour cream similar to the American version except it is creamier and a bit sweeter than regular sour cream. You can also get a baleada with all the works which includes, eggs, avocado, carne asada, and other items. Anyway the baleadas are huge! One is enough to fill you up! Also, the carne asada is amazing!! It is a bed of fried green plantains, with strips of carne asada, a cabbage salad, and a creamy tomato cream sauce and the sides include black beans, and a pico de gallo like salad (called chimol)! The food takes a while to come out since it is all freshly made on the spot, but you can call ahead and place an order and arrive just in time to pick it up!! Anyways I definitely recommend this place AKA "El Busito Catracho" (The little Catracho bus) as we call it. Y para los que hablan Español o son Catrachos: Realmente recomiendo este busito! Kitchen and smoothie room in the back. The staff running this place are quite nice. The choice of artwork adorning the walls appears to be different from other Soup Peddlers. What's good about Soup Peddler? Despite their name, I prefer their smoothies over their soups. Their soups are prepared offsite and delivered in the morning to all Soup Peddler locations. Thus, no location is aware or can predict what will be on their menu for soup specials each day through the week. However, other than their daily specials, they usually have a set soup menu. Their soups are served in a paper cup, and you can get crackers and oyster crackers with them. They also offer grilled cheese sandwiches. Those sandwiches are, well, pretty small and simple. I've had their Apple-Muenster Grilled Cheese, no complaints. Don't expect to be filled up on that though. Again, smoothies are where it's at. They offer monthly smoothie specials, discounted daily smoothie specials, and staff favorite creations. Of course, you can always create and customize your own. I tend to get their matcha, turmeric, or banana and nut based smoothies. Any sweetness is obtained from their fruits used, but sometimes date syrup is used as an ingredient. Anyways, smoothies are yum, and that's why I keep coming back.
