Best Day Ever.. We decided on a Kitchen Refresh after being in our home for 35 years. Our kitchen still had the original Formica white with gold flecks on our counters. We walked onto the lot at Brasil Stone, and found the one so quickly. So many wonderful slabs to choose from. We put a deposit on it and they held it for us till the contractor was ready. We needed to replace a damaged exterior table top. After visiting local stone companies in Santa Barbara, we decided to have Brasil Stone on De La Vina Street fabricate a new table top for us. Shadina helped us select the appropriate stone for our existing outside table. She is very knowledgeable and patient. She organized the process from start to finish. She sent Haroldo, the owner, to look at the job. His son then came to create the template for the new stone table top . We were extremely impressed with attention to detail for a small job. The turn around time was within a two week period. The finished table top has been installed and is truly beautiful. I have been involved in the construction industry and have a bachelor's degree in architecture, so I understand the challenges of how granite slabs should be cut to provide a seamless look at corners and joints. I know it when a contractor is doing a good job with scheduling and with coordinating with other trades to make everything fit perfectly. However, because the work is practically hand-made and custom fit, adjustments are standard in the industry. Horaldo meticulously checked the carpentry of the kitchen before fabricating the slab. I am completely happy with the results of the work by Brasil, I would highly recommend them to all my friends. I had Brasil stone design and install my new kitchen cabinets, and they are beautiful. They are great to work with, and Harold is the best. I also picked them to install beautiful stone in my kitchen. It looks beautiful I gave him 4 stars because we did have a hiccup on the design. I have electric kitchen unfortunately, and he convinced me to have a stove top instead of conventional slide in stove. So the stone was cut for that and unfortunately he nor I knew you need two 220's plus for that. But the problem was remedied. Recut the stone. I have used Harold for my kitchen and bathroom before. They do great work, and super to work with. I just referred him to a new client as a matter of fact. read more

Brasil Stone has great granite slabs but don't do business with him. I left a valuable 1/2 slab of granite ($800) with him on consignment. He now denies he ever got it. I'm out the money and he won't do anything about it. Go somewhere else where they have higher integrity and professional quality controls. read more

Got a quote. Planned our kitchen budget around quote. Returned after all was remodeled but cabinets and our countertop price was now quoted at double. Went elsewhere and used Cambria stone quartz composite...looks great and stain proof. read more

Negative stars if I could. DO NOT DO business with Brasil Stone!!!! Heraldo is not a reputable guy. He talked us into buying 2 slabs of granite although we weren't ready to do the whole kitchen. Said it wouldn't match otherwise and that we could store it there. We then decided to finish the kitchen and after numerous calls and emails he came out to give us a quote to finish the granite install. I thought the quote was high and asked him what is exactly was it for. He had not given me a break down just a price. He told me to do the math?! I asked again please tell me all that you are doing with the money? No reply. I then said " I'll just come get my slab and have someone else fabricate it. He says he can get it to me because its being stored in a shop somewhere. Finally after months of this he says I can go get it. Go there with another stone company and he tries to give me a slab totally different than what i have. Tried to tell me no that is what you have. This one is just faded? But wait it was in a shop? I told him no it isn't mine I bought Maderia Gold, he tells me "no you are wrong"!. I have a picture on my phone I show him and the guy from other store. He says picture doesn't show it correctly because of the lighting. Guy from other shop says "you know Heraldo, I'm going to go to her house and if she is right, I going to call you out". As we are leaving Heraldo "says, I want the money for storing it?' What money? Its not the same slab!!!!! Other guy goes to my house and confirms (what I knew all along) that is was indeed Maderia Gold. This guy is a crook!! All he had to say is "hey I sold that and maybe we can work something out" But instead he wasted my time and that of the other guy. Who by the way charged me nothing for his time. That is the sign of a reputable and honest business. And don't even get me started on the quality of the first slab. I have to redo all the counters now. read more
