They still seem to be fine tuning the menu and service. Brunch at noon could be outstanding but some of the menu items are unavailable or incomplete. Coffee and hot water for tea was served almost a Luke warm bath for a baby. Never hot or even pleasantly warm. Waitress responded by saying "it was made at 9am". What? Coffee is cheap to make and should be made regularly and kept piping hot around the clock at a breakfast restaurant. Additionally Would be smarter to serve a carafe or pot on the table when more than 3 guests are drinking it. Also, maybe they should try new mugs as not all hold heat well. Mediocre service. Music was too loud and wrong vibe for brunch. Odd, low and deeply set chairs and couches should not be where they seat people for a meal. Cool views but manager should be more aware of closing garage doors and windows or curtains on breezy days. overcast weather changes can take the restaurant from pleasant to uncomfortable very quickly on the rooftop floors. read more

There was a large party at the time we stopped (Friday 6pm), so we put our names on the list for a 30 minute wait. In the meantime, we ordered a glass of wine and a Moscow Mule at the downstairs bar. The drinks were good but the wait time was noticeable. 2 bartenders working their way thru different contrail orders, they were just a little slow for a Friday flow. We sat and talked in very comfortable chairs and passed the time, but we were pretty hungry. I checked and they said we could go up. We were seated outside where the views were awesome and given waiters. And was it. We waited for 10 minutes and no one took our order. I stopped the person who seated us and mentioned no one stopped to take our order. He went for someone but 5 more minutes passed and nothing... So we sat ourselves at the bar and put our food order in and... they were out of the Tuna Tartar. We called an Uber to take us to Lumin and continued our night. So I really can't review how the food was because we waited 30 minutes downstairs and 15 upstairs and never had the opportunity. Nice views tho! read more

Was here last night for a private event. To say the least I was very impressed. The woman behind the bar was very helpful and friendly. The other blonde girl helping her at the bar-named Brittney I think was very friendly and personable, always coming over and making sure all of us were okay/ needed anything. This was a very disappointing experience. Made reservations for 1:30pm Sunday brunch. They close entirely at 2. Beforehand (4 days before) I called to make sure that we wouldn't get kicked out, they told me we would be ok and still receive the full experience. Let me just say they should never even have a 1:30 reservation available. We were sat down, never saw the waiter. We waited 15 mins before we even got waters (from the hostess). The waters were room temperature. Waited another 10 mins before they got our orders because once again waiter is MIA. The drinks we ordered were watered down and not good at all. Never had anyone come to ask if we needed anything else. When waiter finally decided to show up he forgets everything except the check. We even asked for a to go box, never received it. It's very apparent the entire staff looked annoyed. Is the restaurant pretty? Yes. Is the rooftop amazing, yes. The service is horrible, the food was definitely NOT worth the upscale pricing. They were out of a lot of items. Please explain why even offer a 1:30p reservation if you close at 2, if everyone starts to close down at 2. Extremely disappointed. I reserved a table for 9pm on opentable for a group of my friends who's visiting Columbus. We are all very excited to do the rooftop experience but they sat us down inside (which I admit is my fault cuz I didn't see the option to book outdoor when booking the appointment). But the table is only shin height with lounge chair that is so much higher. So our backs were screaming. As soon as we sat down at our reserved table, we asked the hostess very nicely if any outside table would be available for us to move. She seemed short and just said she couldn't do that because she doesn't know when people would leave, which I understand. So after we only ordered drinks, there are a group of 4 (we are group of 4) left, and there is nobody waiting in the lobby for table. That table is also served by our same waiter so we asked the hostess if we could move to the table outside. She just said "give me a second" and started looking at her computer again. We waited for a while and they did move us outside, which I appreciate. But we saw the hostess shook her head and rolled her eyes as she walked away from us. The attitude really just threw things off for us and killed the vibe. We were really respectful and nice, and we really tried to be understandable as it is our fault for not booking the outside seat in the first place. But I just thought the hostess attitude could be nicer. Also the food is pretty average and nothing ordinary. The atmosphere here is top notch! Started with a really nice old fashioned and soaked in a great view of the Columbus Skyline on their east patio rooftop. Then grabbed one more cocktail and watched the sunset on the west side of the rooftop complete with duel woodturning fireplaces. 10/10 would recommend for a date night or some cocktails with clients. Went to Brass Eye last Sunday for brunch for their first brunch open to the public. First off, ambiance was beautiful coming from downstairs through the library, up to the rooftop. There was a variety of seating, yet I was with a party of 14 so we had our tables set pushed together against the padded bench. We were sat directly next to the DJ, yet shortly after seating, his music was "maxed" and drowned out by the sound of a playlist playing from the bar, which seemed odd as the DJ was a main attraction to the ambiance. Upon arrival, the birthday guest inquired about their being time to get everyone comfortably accommodated before closing since our reservation was at 1, and the restaurant closed at 2. The waiter checked with the chef and told us "not to worry at all" about placing orders past cut off because their was a private party at 4, so the cooks weren't going anywhere. Great! I asked the waiter which drink she suggested; one choice contained coffee which I no longer drink, and I asked the name of my neighbors drink. The waiters response was "did you all need more time?". i quickly responded no and ordered the other drink she suggested. With no other patrons in the restaurant it felt very rushed so I decided not to bother with anymore questions or suggestions. The drink was fair, just very heavy with the egg white foam. I ordered the biscuit tower for myself, as there weren't many other non pork options. I added smoked salmon, and ultimately requested chicken instead of the country ham (since I wasn't sharing and wanted the most of of my $35 meal to get full). I was brought a chicken snitzel, though was advertised as chicken tenders. Though the towers were bought out about 20 mins after ordering, however half the other orders didn't come out until the first round of orders were being finished. It was nearing 3 at this time so we asked for checks and most of the party started migrating to the balcony for pictures. I and a few others were still seated waiting for boxes (requested before checks) and our change- mind you I paid with card so had no change to wait on, but was. Fast forward 20 mins later, she quickly dropped off a small box (large enough to fit one biscuit, yet I had half my tower left- pimento cheese, honey, jam, smoked salmon, chicken and two biscuits) and the check. I tried to call after her, but missed her. Instead I asked the bartender for a box and she also said one moment. I told her theyve been waiting on me to take a picture so I'm going to meet them, but I'm coming back; I've just been waiting on a box. She obliged and said she'd drop the box on the table. We all took pictures and headed back in to see our table had been completely cleared. Management saw my concern immediately and told the server we need to remedy the situation. She approached me and said "I heard what's going on, what do we need to replace?". A refund should've been more than offered, seeing I paid $75 for a brunch to not even get full and half my meal tossed out. But given I was at a birthday function with 13 other people who all also patiently waited with me, I retracted from 'drawing more attention '. Frustrated once again, I calmly explained what all was left that was tossed out. She assured she'd replace it. We played corn hole on the deck until the food was ready. Upon making it downstairs, a few others stopped at the cafe. During their wait I inspected my bags to see they gave me two biscuits, another snitzel and a side of ketchup. A joke! I couldn't believe this was the best remedy they came up with. Nothing about this experience sat right with me, so I attempted to follow up to speak with someone but heard nothing back. There were too many obvious issues that needs ironed out to ignore, and not give proper feedback. Which is why unfortunately, I'm leaving this review. As a fellow local chef and culinary admirer, I hope its received well. read more

Arrived at Brass Eye at 1pm with a party of six. I had phoned to confirm 5 times but just got an old-fashioned busy signal. I sent email also. Website stated that service began at 2pm but deck is open 10 am til close. Front desk told me that service begins at 4 and, sorry, but deck is not open today. Waste of time and parking fees. Brass Eye needs to communicate with customers much better than currently. read more
