My husband and I went here for our anniversary brunch. Our server was very sweet and we didn't feel rushed. The building itself is so beautiful with the large old windows and elaborate crown molding. We both loved our meals and would love to come back for dinner sometime. I think this restaurant would be a cozy place in the winter with a bowl of their French onion soup

Came here for Charleston restaurant week and realized how small the menu really is. Very upscale inside with a open concept bar and booths. They even have a speakeasy downstairs called bar vault. The food is delicious upscale French cuisine with a twist but be prepared to pay higher prices. Lots of different pate's and escargot which I haven't seen around Charleston at all. I had the beef Bourgnon, which is off menu but so good! I'm hoping that they add it once restaurant week is over. This is a place you should probably ride share to as the parking is street parking only. The servers are very knowledgeable and friendly, saying all of the specials offhand and able to tell you the flavor profiles of anything on the menu.

I got caught by surprise, the brunch burger I had here is the best burger I've had in Charleston in ages!

Great service. Probably the best duck confit I've had in the USA. The beans were a little uncooked for my liking but they were good but did I mention the duck confit? The leg had crispy skin but it was melt in yo mouth ... mmmm mmmm mmmm.... The steak frites was good but the steak lacked salt. However it was cooked to order and good. My husband had the soup à l'oignon and it was tasty but nothing to write home about. The cheese was very mild prob not a Gruyère. We enjoyed the Malbec wine too. Nice lively atmosphere. Did I tell you about that duck? Haha I'm impressed. You should come get some !!

My husband & I were looking for a new restaurant to try for our anniversary. We saw Brasserie La Banque on the list for restaurant week & thought the menu looked good. The experience was absolutely wonderful! The atmosphere is cozy & the staff are all friendly. He made reservations for the Chef's Counter (unfortunately we were late and called to let them know but they still worked it out for us). They had a nice card printed out at our spots. At the Chef's Counter we got to see the food prepared in front of us. For starters we got the county pate, snapper crudo, & escargot. All delicious but the escargot was the best. For entrées we did the boeuf borguignon and chicken fricassee. Both were to die for!!!! That chicken was the best chicken I've ever had. For dessert we did the pumpkin speculoos tart and chocolate entrement. If you like pumpkin & fall flavors like my husband, the tart is the way to go. I personally am a chocolate fiend & it was new on the menu. I truly hope they keep it! Also, a huge shout out to Chef David! He noticed how we were watching them cook & talking about the food. I was eyeing the crispy Brussels sprouts & he asked if we would like to try some (he also checked if we had any food allergies before providing us a sample). They pair it with a nice blue cheese sauce. Every bite of dinner made me smile. We will be back!

The croissants at this place are absolutely to die for. We stopped here for lunch and very much enjoyed it. Super cute environment. Beautiful building. The service was a little slow, but we were there to relax anyway so it didn't really matter.

perfect place to take pictures. everything is so pretty. we started with the bread and butter, i was with 4 people and it was not nearly enough for all of us but it was yummy, 8/10. then the broccolini which had a very nice sauce on top, 7.5/10. we all got the steak with fries and it was delicious, 8/10. Add some more seasoning to make it a 10/10. We then went down to the speak easy which was so vibey. took beautiful pictures. wish they played jazz music, it was mostly 2000s music. i recommend !

Came here for dinner before a show and it was good! I hadn't been before but I'm a big fan of this restaurant group so I knew it would be good. Drinks and apps were great! I liked my scallop entree a lot and the service was great.

Beautiful spot on Broad Street- I don't usually dine on this side of town but I had been dying to see the inside of this spot. The service was great- our waitress was super informative and knowledgeable about the specials. We started with the cheese board and the tartare. I was not a fan of the tartare at all. The meat tasted flavorless, the color seemed strange and honestly the dish was flavorless. I make it a point to always try this if a menu has it and out of all the tartares I have tried in Charleston, thus was my least favorite. I also wasn't a fan that both appetizers we ordered were served with the benne cracker. My entree definitely made up for my food experience- the mussels and frites were delicious and I would definitely order again. The sauce they were in was decadent and comforting but not too heavy paired with the fries. I would definitely go back!

We just stopped in for an after dinner drink and to quickly escape the cold December night. The restaurant was beautiful and we easily found 2 seats at the bar. We had some great expresso martinis. And the. Found out there was a speakeasy in the basement and headed there.

Hanger steak. Rare as shown is the way to go!

My wife and I showed up very early (about 4:30) for our 7:30 reservation trying to get seated around 5:15. The hostess was very accommodating. When we returned the restaurant was packed! Making us realize how accommodating they were. Thanks. The food was fantastic. I had the steak frites with hanger steak (delicious) and my wife the mussels frites. Perfect! The wind selection of French burgundy was terrific and the atmospheres upper cool with high ceiling and interesting bar. Will def return.

Stopped by on a Saturday morning for breakfast, while playing tourist in our own city. The service was great and we really enjoyed that the quiche Lorraine as well as the French 75 cocktail. If you have dinner here, make sure you check out their sister bar downstairs called Bar Vauté. Bar Vauté is the only bar in Charleston that is below sea level. Parking can be challenging so plan accordingly. There is no valet and it is metered street parking only. If you are visiting Charleston, the restaurant is conveniently located to popular tourist sites like the provost dungeon, the powder museum, rainbow row, Washington Square, and the South Carolina historical society museum.

I loved the comfy chairs we dined in. We were lucky enough to find street parking nearby which is always a plus. My boyfriend and I both ordered the Croque Madame which came with parisian ham, gruyere, bechamel, a fried Storey Farms egg, grilled local bakery sourdough, and house cut pommes frites. The dish was absolutely delicious! My compliments to the chef. My boyfriend was able to substitute his fried egg for scrambled eggs without any issue, but I was disappointed that they would not accommodate my request for egg whites. I ended up removing the yolk myself, which was not ideal. The service was just ok. Our waitress only checked in once and didn't refill our water pitcher, Not what I would expect, especially during brunch. As mentioned above, the food really was incredible and the ambiance made it a lovely day out. I almost gave four stars because of the lack of flexibility and service, but the quality of the meal stood out.

Even for a focused menu, it's burdened by obscure flavor combinations and disappointingly modest portions. If you're only skimming this review: sticking with the classics is my advice. Pork schnitzel was a winner, Wagyu steak is difficult to mess up, and even the $22 burger looked like a safe bet. I'd avoid venturing into the experimental offerings, unless you're brave, or maybe have a more elevated taste than I. The Vidalia Onion Brûlée was the most bearable. While the texture was grossly reminiscent of a pâté (or dog food) spread onto a paper-thin slice of bread, the flavors themselves were pleasant enough. I cannot recommend the Creamy Cioppino, under any circumstances. Sadly the worst fish soup I've ever tasted. Just instant salt shock- the soup was inedible. A couple of curious friends had spoonfuls, and each had the same grimacing reaction. The steak tartare was also a miss, very over-engineered. It's a fancy spot, but disappointingly prioritized ambition over the execution.

I definitely do not regret our decision as we had a great meal. The interior ambiance of the restaurant truly transports to another place, it is truly beautiful. Our server was so gentle and gave us many recommendations on things to try and even accommodated some of requests. We started with the Espresso Martini and non-alcoholic French 75 (my first time) and these were both great. For appetizers, we had the crab croquettes (cakes), escargots and caesar salad. Everything was delicious (including the complimentary bread) , and to our surprise the Caesar salad had a nice crunch with the addition of fried frog leg pieces (if I'm not mistaken). The main entrees were the stars of the night, while we were originally inclined to try their Steak & Frites, our server recommended the steak tips sautéed over mushroom sauce with pasta and this was the perfect match instead of the classical French fries pairing. We also had the Supreme Roasted Chicken with caramelized veggies and everything was cooked to perfection. We did not leave without dessert and tried their Créme Brûlée, and while it was runnier than usual, the flavor was there. We thought it needed more time. Overall a great experience while in Savannah!
