I took my pregnant fiancée and her two siblings to Braums around 10 pm. The cashier that was taking our order which I asked her name(Norah) was taking our order. First my fiancées non verbal autistic brother was first to order a root beer float and when he ordered she gave him a dirty look and immediately just had an attitude. When she went to give him his root beer float she raised her voice at him like she had the authority to do that. I understand it's a little before close but completely uncalled for I would think that braums employees would have some sort of basic decency to treat people with respect no matter what happens! Once again Norah was the cashier and I will not be coming here any more definitely unsatisfied and genuinely just disgusted people treat others like that for no reason. My family and I always come here for ice cream amd malts because: 1. Really tasty, 2. There are lots of different flavors and styles, and 3. It's affordable (my fam of 4 can each get something for under $10.) It's a popular spot, so indoor seating can be a little hard to come by on the weekends of Friday nights, but there are a few picnic tables outside for overflow. Even though there's always a long line, the service is really quick, so there's only MAX a 10 min wait (on holidays and stuff.) The prices here are really reasonable and affordable for the family. Inside looks bigger than it is on the outside. They have an ice cream bar like Baskin Robbins and a place to order food. Staff here is understaff as I came around 5pm, but waited around 10 minutes for someone to help out. I ended up getting a scoop of strawberry cheesecake which was an okay size and a limeade. Grew up in the Dallas area, and anytime I'm back, I love to hit up Braum's. This location has its ups and downs. The staff was extremely nice, and the place is clean. Let me start off by saying I love Braum's Ice Cream and I realize Some locations are great and some aren't so great this one being Not so great. We decided to come into The rock wall location for the first time on Mother's Day which turned out to be a mistake, it was absolutely a disaster behind the counter I would even go as far as to say it was quite disturbing and disgusting. If it had just been me I would have turned around and walked out but my wife wanted Braums for Mother's Day So we stayed and ordered ice cream. There was just food and debris everywhere all over the counters Etc. To make matters worse the same person who scooped our ice cream barehanded (no gloves) Was also accepting payments & handling cash. Which is a big No-No When handling Ready-to-Eat Foods (RTE). The service was BAD from the time we approached the counter. After giving the associate our order multiple times they still did not get it right. Had to shoe them our receipt to get our complete order as we had originally ordered it. The supposed to be manager yelled at the customers in line to get ice cream. My great grandson became nauseated after eating his meal. The chicken strips we ordered were so small they resembled chicken nuggets rather than strips. I ordered the chili and was disappointed with it as well. It was VERY subpar for chili. It had large chunks of hamburger patty in it. I have 3 experiences here: 1. I went and they were out of mint chocolate chip and that was that 2. I was in drive thru and they were out of mint chocolate chip again so I went inside and asked for rocky road and the man said "sorry we are out." I was standing right in front of the ice cream and it was half way full... I said "this is a joke right" and he stared at me. I just left. 3. Just now I went again through drive thru and I ordered... FINALLY they don't say they're out of mint chocolate chip. Waiting in the drive thru for 20 mins:) they have us pay then we get to the next window and they say, you guessed it, "they just told me we're out of mint chocolate chip do y'all want anything else" and I didn't want anything else but he didn't mention anything about a refund so I got peppermint instead. I got it and it tasted like they left the lid open over night. I don't know I never have a good experience here and they're constantly out of popular ice cream flavors. I'm giving Braum's four stars because so far they are one of our favorite stops since moving to Rockwall. I know it's fast food, but that's the point. For less than $10 you can get a double cheese burger that is actually a half pound of beef, medium fries which are delicious, and an amazing chocolate shake! I've been a few times in one week! Now I'm not promoting that as a healthy diet, but it's a great deal. The employees are extremely friendly and fast! Despite lines to place your order, when you get to the window it's ready! I have been to this location many times. I am going to give it a combined rating. One for the restaurant and one for the little store. I don't know if the employee in the store portion is supposed to be up front at the register but there is never anyone at the register when I come. So I have to knock them one star for that. They get one star for for the price of their ice cream. Such a deal when you have three kids. Much better than 31 flavors which you have to take out a second mortgage to afford. Pre covid we thought the employees working inside were just ok, maybe untrained and not personable. Minus one half star. On drive through visits they have forgotten food multiple times. I came here during the coronavirus pandemic. There are a lot of people working here and like only two or three or the workers wearing masks. I find it unfair that several restaurants across DFW have had to go out of business because of the pandemic and this one still gets lots of business, with the workers not taking proper safety precautions. If a lot of people will still come to a dangerous restaurant like this, the virus will spread even more. I would highly recommend to not come here until the pandemic is over. I've been here three times since moving to the area. It's fast food but the burgers are good, the fries are some of the best and the ice cream is good and cheap!!! My family enjoys going from time to time. I actually went through the drive through today and pulled away and didn't realize part of my order was missing. I needed to pick up a gallon of milk on my way home and it was already late so rather than driving over to Wally World and hassleing with parking and long check-out lines, the light bulb in my head went off and I thought of Braums. Wow! I love their little mini-mart. I only went in there for milk but left with some bananas and also picked up some of their hummus for a late night snack. The friendly young girl at the checkout register told me how "I couldn't go wrong" with that brand of hummus and she was right! I loved it (considering it was store-bought). What really impressed me was their selection of fruit and vegetables. They had lemons the size of my FIST - instead of the little ping-pong ball sized lemons you tend to find at Walmart! (Yes, this kind of stuff excites me). They also had rib-eye steaks and ribs and all kinds of other dinner options. I'm not much of an ice cream eater but I will definitely keep this place in mind when I have to pick up some quick things on my way home! P.S. - will definitely have to check out the pound cake on the recommendation of another reviewer. read more

I feel like this place doesn't get nearly enough credit because of the fact that it is a chain. Granted, we visit Braum's for their ice cream and we haven't tried the food but it looks like it might be worth a try as well from what we've seen other patrons get. Every time that we go for ice cream, the line is out the door. People are obviously loving it but not sharing that love on Yelp. Is it the best ice cream in the world? Certainly not but it is good ice cream and even better, it is good ice cream that is reasonably priced! You pay significantly less for good ice cream here than I have paid for bad ice cream at other places. It seems like Braum's get a bad rap when it comes to hygiene, which, sure, they could probably make some improvement there, but when you see the lines and people moving around trying to crank out those orders, you can definitely understand how things get a little crazy with the sprinkles, whip cream and chocolate sauce.
