Let's start with the good. The staff are always friendly, and the newly remodeled dining room is very clean and modern, though I prefer warm LED lighting that mimics incandescents. I wish more places would use these, but perhaps I'm in the minority and people prefer the sterile coldness of cool white LEDs. Also, the food tastes pretty good. Sure, it's full of all the ingredients the other fast-food places use, like all the preservatives, seed oils, and other flavor enhancers, but it tastes pretty good. The problem for me, though, and it's a big one I've noticed at other places as well: the food tastes like artificial fragrance. At least the bun on the burger did. So it makes me think they are storing the buns in an area with fragrance (air freshener of some sort), or the plastic container the buns are stored in was stored in a room with an air freshener. It's pretty nasty to bite into a burger and taste a chemically crafted bouquet of flowers. I managed to remove the outer layer of both buns, and that got rid of the fragrance and made the burger edible. So, my suggestion for Culver's, and any food business, is to get rid of the stinking artificial fragrance. It's nasty, it's toxic, it tastes terrible, and it sticks to everything, especially plastic and anything that plastic touches. The sad part is, most people live their lives surrounded by fragrance, they can't even taste it when it's in and on their food. read more

Really wanted to like and trust this place but I have gotten sick from the food here twice now. About six months ago I ordered a burger and the cod sandwich and was sick later that day but was unsure what made me sick. Recently ordered a burger and cod sandwich and ate the cod sandwich saving the burger for later. Fell asleep but was awakened by the very strong urge to make it to the toilet as fast as possible! this was a great fast food burger! the patties were very well seasoned & flavorful. the chicken patty & tenders surprisingly had a good spice level to them and were very tasty. the chicken wasn't chewy or overfried like some places can be. we went on a sunday during the church rush & everything still came out hot & in a timely manner. the workers were very nice despite how busy it was. my only gripe is the prices, 4.19 for two tenders (no fries or drink) is crazy. the bacon deluxe meal (all the burgers are double patty so only the bacon was an extra) was almost $13. read more

If I could actually give zero stars, I would. I've never been treated this way and am genuinely shocked. Let's start off by the drive thru experience. This is on a Friday at around noon. The young girl working the drive thru was rude. She kept interrupting me and rolling her eyes and wouldn't let me finish my sentence to the point where some of my order was wrong/missing. So we wait, and then an older woman runs out to charge us for the missing items. Which was annoying because the rude young girl already made it a bad experience so this was just another annoyance however, I get it. It wasn't until we got the missing items that we realized the burger wasn't correct and missing bacon. So we go inside and get it replaced. Then we continue relaxing and eating our food and notice the burger that was replaced, had cheese just slabbed on it. Not melted. The other items we got (about $40 worth) were all cold at this point. So I call the restaurant and explain the situation to a manager and then get transferred to the owner and explained everything to her. Her name was Becca. She interrupted me mid way through the conversation and skipped over the fact that the rude customer service was even being brought to her attention. She only cared about telling me that pretzel bites take 45seconds and that she was the one who brought us our missing items. That wasn't even our main concern all of that just topped off EVERYTHING else. The main concern was the downright RUDE customer service. So she ends up offering 2 coupons for a value basket meal. In which we decline because we really didn't enjoy the experience what-so-ever. We're not mean people! We're foodies! We've both been in the service industry and know things happen but the way this was all handled was so appalling that we didn't even want to come back! We just wanted a refund in which, she said no. And so I said "ok well then never mind, thank you" (not in a rude tone at all) and I was about to just point out one last time the customer service was appalling and she HUNG UP on me. I go inside, because at this point I was just shocked. I tell her that, and I quote, "I was just on the phone with you and you hung up on me before I could finish and I just wanted to mention-" I get cut off. She said "oh no. You said bye" loudly. Mind you people were in line and I wasn't being loud. For that reason in itself. She even got closer to me as I got upset for her lying, and said "listen, we would just like a refund or we'll settle for the coupons" I was just going to give them away but at least I got something back for the money wasted on food I couldn't eat and still, haven't touched because of the pure humiliation caused by Becca. She then says "yea no, I feel like y'all might do this often and just want free food" WHICH MAKES ZERO SENSE because I declined the free coupons to begin with! Mind you, as she said this she looked me up and down. Given, yes I was in a little sweat and sweatpants outfit and my slippers but I've been sick. I don't look my top tier best. This was going to be my first solid meal after having the stomach flu. She looked at me as if I was below her. It was humiliating. I only came in because of the way Becca handled the conversation on the phone disregarding everything I said only to point out pretzel bites, and hang up. Then I told her the customer service needs to be fixed or she's going to continue to lose business and the girl outside was the start of it because she was being a b-word to me out of nowhere. Becca then victimized herself (she's a typical Karen I see. Never experienced one, shocked to say now, that I have.) and clutched her pearls as if I was scaring her and said "ugh! do not swear at me!" And I literally took a step back, in again, shock. Because I did not once come off in any threatening manner. Second time here. We came after church and expected it to be packed. It was. The service is very good, the order taker was polite as was the order deliver. Nice. I decided to try the famous ButterBurger. I do like being able to build the burger to my taste. The bun and toppings were fresh, but my burger was dry and super thin. The patty should be thicker than the pickles. Is this typical of the butter burger? My husbands burger was the same thin and dry. Disappointed. I was soo... disappointed. Went inside to order with a friend because we had a large order of 6. We were kind of in a rush but have both worked in food/customer service and weren't going to rush the workers or even tell them we were in a rush. There was no one ahead of us in line, 2 families were already seated inside and were already served and eating their food. We placed our 6 orders of mini concrete mixers and sundaes and waited. And waited. And waited... we could clearly see that the drive thru was being served before ours were even made. It was incredibly awkward because they had about 4 people work on getting our orders ready (not including the drive through or kitchen guys making food) but clearly only ONE of them knew what was going on. The base is frozen custard. One lady was slowly, painstakingly slowly scooping up the custard from the freezer it drops into it. Again... it might have been slow because they kept pushing drive thru orders ahead of our order. But this lady was yelling at the other three workers on the toppings line. Awkward!!! She was berating the cashier for not writing orders on the cups when he took the order and not after the fact. Solid advice... but maybe find professional ways to speak to staff and not in front of your customers? The three just stared at her and then goofed around with each other...wasting more time! It took over 20 minutes to get our order... When I finally got mine, I noticed it WAS NOT what I ordered and half melted from sitting out waiting for the toppings. So I asked the cashier, "are you sure this is an oreo concrete mixer with fudge?" And he said yes, that's what it looks like. I said, "does that usually come with nuts?" And he said, No. And i said, well this has nuts.... and then he finally actually took the time to look at my order instead of brushing me off and admitted it was wrong. I honestly didn't want to waste another second of my time there. We left and I ended up throwing it away without taking a bite. If I had the time, I wish I got my money back. The person in the truck handed back the ice cream to the worker who set it to the side and handed him a fountain drink. I came to this culver's hungry out of my mind. My silver dodge mini van was FULL of my little League boys after a long day of baseball (they won btw)!! We had HUGE order.
