I don't usually write reviews but I think others should know what they are in for. I had recently moved and found Brava from Yelp as they had the best reviews in the area. I called and scheduled an appointment just fine. I wanted a pixie style cut and to have my roots bleached and toned. I get to the salon and her assistant takes me to the waiting room. Once I get in her chair I explain how I just left my previous person because she wasn't listening and kind of hacked my hair up and now getting my hair done is very stressful. I showed pictures is what I wanted and told her that it was very flat from running around and because I can't get it to hold volume right now. So she gets started and cleans up the back of my neck with clippers. Okay so far. Then time for bleach. In my experience they try to just bleach the roots as to not further damage the hair. Not her. Lisa globbed bleach all over my head and then just left me to sit there with a cap on. My head started to hurt so I had to go find her to take it off. Then she hands me off to her assistant to wash my hair. Sent back to Lisa to have the toner put on. Again just globs it on and I had to stop her because it was running down my face. She didn't really ask what color blonde I wanted so after her assistant finished washing it out I had to ask her if it was done being toned because it was very yellow blonde abs I wanted an icy white blue blonde. She was like yes it's toned I didn't think you would want it blueish. So globbed on again to try and get what I wanted. Finally get to cutting and styling. I was mostly happy but the hair was looking off by my ear so I asked her if she could shape it a little better and she responded by just cutting a huge chunk out as you can see in the picture. My heart sank. She then styled it flat to my head and again was like oh I thought that's what you wanted because that's how it was when you came in. When I got home and took a shower i got clean on my towel so she didn't even wash all the bleach off of me. Needless to say I went home and cried. I will not be coming here ever again and I would not recommend her. read more

Lisa did a great job with my hair! This was my first time getting my hair done at Brava. She was one of the fastest hair dressers I had been too, but it did not affect the quality of the work at all. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she said we would work towards it since my hair was pretty dark and I was wanting to go much lighter. The girl who works as her front desk person and assistant was so kind and knowledgeable too. They also offer you beverages like coffee and water when you arrive. Overall great customer service. Lisa Rector (owner of Brava) worked her magic again yesterday! She has been doing my hair for 6 years. The whole staff of Brava is a great team. The photos you see are a result of Kay's brilliant photography. They have an assortment of items for sale, from gifts to beauty products, including Jane Iredale makeup. Sometimes I purchase a birthday gift while I'm there. I regularly purchase Doterra "On Guard" hand soap from Brava. It smells great, and keeps us well. (Anti flu and germ properties) I live in Miramar Beach, so it's an hour drive to Navarre, but totally worth the drive. I simply bring an ice chest and plan my errands along the way, like stopping at Sam's in Fort Walton Beach, and at Destin Ice for seafood on my way home. The drive is worth every minute. My usual hair stylist quit working due to Covid 19. I have very curly hair and I hadn't gotten my hair cut/trimmed since she quit and wanted to find someone to shape it up. I did a Google search and decided to give Brava a try based on what appeared to me a lot of styling experience. When I called to set up an appointment, I asked if they had a stylist that is experienced in cutting/styling curly hair. I was assured that they did. However, the haircut was the quickest cut I have ever received in my life - maybe five minutes, no exaggeration. My husband even said it appeared I'd had nothing done to my hair. I have to say that I was deeply disappointed. If the stylist was uncomfortable cutting curly hair I would rather she be honest and let me find someone else. Worst salon ever!! My BFF was getting married so her wedding planner suggested Brava to get the bride's hair, one bridesmaid (me), and her daughter/flower girl's hair done. We arrived a few minutes late. I 100% know that was our fault but with being from out of town we mis-judged the traffic from Destin and arrived about 15-20 minutes late. The bride called and was told it was totally FINE that we were running a few minutes late. I walked in and was told they now only had time to do one person's hair. I was confused and asked why. I was told our appointment was at 1 and they had another bridal party coming in at 2. They told me that we were too late and they only scheduled 45 minutes per person so with us being 15-20 minutes late they were only able to do one. I hope you are as confused as I was (even though I'm no mathematical genius, I know that doesn't compute). 45 minutes x 3 updo's doesn't = 1 hour! One person was scheduled to do everyone's hair in hour? Needless to say, I said the bride will take that one spot and I'll figure out myself and the flower girl/daughter of the bride. I asked if I could use a blow dryer because my hair was damp. I was told no because it was a "safety issue." Since I'm in my 30's and have been successfully using a blow dryer since I was about 12 (with no injuries) I'm still confused by that. Half the time I blow dry my own hair at my salon and no one has ever told me it was a safety issue. I'm not dealing with napalm here. It's a blow dryer. I digress. I was told that my hair was doing what it should be doing "from a hair dresser's standpoint" when I tried to get her to add a little volume in the front (it was totally flat on top, like FLAT and looked ridiculous). The hair dresser basically didn't want to do what I was asking (a blow out) and didn't bother to blow my hair totally dry before starting. I ended up asking for some Bobby pins and fixed my hair myself after leaving the salon. Naturally all of the curl fell out within a hour or so because it wasn't totally dry when she started. In the end they did everyone's hair (because they looked at the schedule wrong) and everyone hated the end result; however I wouldn't be writing a review if it was simply a case of we didn't like they way our hair looked going out the door. The review is for how the women in the salon treated us. We were late (which we admitted and apologized for as soon as we walked in, and totally understood if we didn't have time for everyone because of it BUT were told it was fine when we called to say we would be a few minutes late). I get that; however that doesn't excuse how rude all the women were to us from the moment we walked in the door. Plus the fact that they were so rude about the appointment times (I tried to get them to understand that one hour wasn't enough to fix everyone's hair and they kept arguing that it was because we were too late) then found out they had the appointment time wrong. They never bothered to apologize about their confusion or how rude they were when we got to the salon. I've never been treated that way before in a local business, or a chain for that matter. I hope the owner sees this review and talks to her people about how to talk to customers. I'm still disgusted by the whole thing bc of how argumentative and rude the women were to us that day. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else to get your hair done. Without knowing where you are going, I can say the hair dressers will be friendlier and your hair will be in better hands. My BFF's mom paid for everything and I found out after the fact that she paid about $250 for 1 updo's (adult), partial updo (child), and a blow out for me. Coming from San Diego these prices are ridiculous! Her mother asked for a detailed receipt via email and the salon never responded. Please spend your money somewhere else!! ***Added after I received a response (2+ months after my original post).**** I stated we were 15-20 minutes late. We weren't 25 minutes late. Arguing with a customer about 5 minutes (after I was honest about being late) on a public forum doesn't make a lot of sense. Sharing someone's bill on Yelp is inappropriate. Your prices are outrageous (IMO) for the services we got. I didn't get an up-do and had to put my hair up for the ceremony. I didn't take any pictures before I fixed it because it looked so bad. This post wasn't made for a discount or free services. Your salon was a major source of stress for a bride on her big day. You can't make that right. I left this review to let other Yelpers know how I felt about my service that day. I'm sorry if you don't like the negative review but our service was so bad that I felt that other people needed to know about it when making their choice in salons. After reading your response, I stand by my original stance about this salon. At the end of the day, your customer service is clearly lacking and we weren't happy with the services we received. read more

Since Wendie left, I haven't been back and probably won't ever go back. Things had steadily declined, but as long as Wendie was there, I was still happy. Fortunately, I was able to follow her to where she is now. As others have said, the services and products are quite expensive. I was willing to pay that much for Wendie because my very fine, thin hair is a challenge. Wonderful environment! Absolutely loved my hair cut! I also got a full body massage which is the perfect combo in my opinion for a quiet and relaxing escape. I just moved to Santa Rosa Beach from Hawaii and was in desperate need of a cut and color, but didn't have a clue where to go. I did a Groupon search to see if I could find any good deals in my area and ran across Brava's cut & color special for $45. I looked up their reviews and decided to take a chance and hope for the best! And let me tell you they ARE the best. 1- from the moment I walked in the door I felt like a values customer. Sometimes when a company knows you're using Groupon I feel like they are annoyed or write you off-but not at Brava. They know this is their opportunity to win your loyalty and boy do they ever! 2-Paris was an amazing colorist and stylist. She matched my color perfectly, (normally colorists guess too light on my hair color and I end up leaving with hot roots-but this color was perfect) and revived my hair with exactly what I asked for in a cut and more! I've been trying to grow out my hair and wanted to give it some life and bounce without compromising on the length-and I got the best haircut I've has in about 5 years!! 3- before I left they told me about their VIP program with lots of specials and rewards points. How many of us who color our hair regularly wish all salons had a loyalty program?! Well Brava is ahead of the game on customer service and satisfaction. 4-bottom line-it took me a full hour to get there from my house in no traffic and I don't plan in trying any other salons-that's exactly how great Paris and Brava salon are! 5-make an appointment with Paris and tell her Shereen sent you- you won't be sorry! read more

I've been a been seeing Lisa Rector for my hair for the past 2 years, every 8 -10 weeks. Sometimes for highlights & cut, keratin straightening treatments and even for my wedding hair do. She is absolutely the best in the area. Not only does she do an amazing job on your hair, she is fast! No more sitting at the salon for 3-4 hours for a cut and color! The timing is very important to me since I don't have all day to sit and do nothing. I'm in and out within 1-2 hours depending on what I'm having done. And every time it's great. Never had a "omg moment, when I got home". I've always loved it. And the true test is that my husband always loves my hair after too! read more

The lady not only messed up my hair color, but she also gave me a terrible haircut. I was okay with getting an inch off my hair since she was bleaching it, but she ended up cutting at least 4 inches off the bottom layer and gave me terrible, choppy looking long layers that I never asked for. I ended up having to go to another hair salon and spend $460 to get it fixed. I was at the other hair salon from 10am-4pm fixing what Brava hair Studio messed up. The layers were so bad that the only way to fix it is to cut my hair another 5ish inches, which will be to the middle of my ear and I refuse to do that! So now I have to suffer through this bad haircut for a while. read more

They have an awesome selection of great gift ideas that you won't find in other local shops. They have a boutique that meshes several unique styles bringing the latest fashion into the Fort Walton Beach area. I was only in town for one week and needed a pedicure after work hours (post-5pm). They booked me right away for an evening appointment (they have later hours on Wednesdays) which was awesome! The service was great. They had a massage chair. Pedi included a great little foot and calf massage. Wonderful selection of essie colors, many pinks, reds (fishnet stockings, pouf daddy), even vermillionaire and raisinuts. Overall great place. Brava did my hair and makeup for my wedding and it was beautiful! They also did my mother's hair for the wedding and she was so pleased with the results. She has never liked any updo done on her hair at a salon and was very happy with this one. My makeup was gorgeous - I could have never done anything close to that myself! They used premium, natural products which I appreciated and even had extra stock to sell to me so I could use in the future. It took about an hour and a half to do both our hair and my makeup and I appreciated that it didn't take all day. Great experience! read more

I rarely post reviews due to the fact I normally forget to. But this place is amazing. All the women make me feel welcome and 100% comfortable. Heather has been doing my hair for about 3 years exclusively and I have NEVER been disappointed by any means. She does an amazing bayalage and highlights, and I've always loved the way she cuts my hair. I'm in the military so my hair always has to be in regulation and she always keeps that in mind. There was one time I had to go to another salon and they messed up my hair pretty bad. Heather fixed it no questions asked. Lisa does my eyebrows all the time and she does amazing and makes it a relaxed and painless experience. Lisa also did my hair for my wedding. Made me wanna cry how beautifully she did it and was able to incorporate my natural curls into the style. This salon made my wedding day so amazing and stress less. I have been to this salon for a few haircuts, and have had a consistently great experience! Wonderful friendly staff and a great result! They don't try to up-sell on services you don't need, but will answer any questions you might have. The shampoo chairs are incredibly comfortable - no neck strain!
