My brunch experience at Bravo today was just what the doctor ordered. I needed to "be still" and I was hungry. I had the nicest wait/bartender who contributed. I had a modified bloody mary because I didn't need anything spicy. It was so good!! I also had the Roman Breakfast with over medium eggs along with the casa bella salad with parmesan dressing. Both dishes were fresh and delicious and they were carefully plated. There were many other delicious choices on the menu. My wait/bartender never missed a beat and she was present at the outdoor patio. The weather was nice and so had a very pleasant experience. I made sure she knew she was appreciated! The wife talked me into giving Bravo another try. She and a couple of her happy-hour accomplices swore it had "gotten better," the way people swear a possum tastes like pork if you cook it long enough. So I said fine, let's do this. Now, let me be clear: Nicole the bartender is the sole reason this place isn't getting the kind of rating you give a broken lawnmower. She was thoughtful, attentive, and smiled like she actually meant it--which is rarer in restaurants these days than a Baptist drinking a margarita in public. But then the food showed up and dragged the whole evening back down the hill. The flatbread pizza was so thin I'm convinced the crust started life as a Nabisco cracker. It was edible, in the technical sense. The calamari, on the other hand, was about 85% breading--looked like somebody dumped a bag of fried socks on a plate. Not greasy, I'll give 'em that, but mostly just a pile of extra coating searching desperately for a squid. So, yes, Bravo did better... but only because Nicole held the rope while the rest of the meal dangled over the cliff. read more

I was driving through Fredicksburg and wanted to try this place. This is my first time trying this chain. I got the Bravo pasta. The was fresh the olive oil definitely made it better. The pasta was delicious but my only problem was I asked for extra Parmesan cheese and never got it. He even said it was in the bag which was not true. The restaurant was really nice inside I wish I had time to dine in but I couldn't. I recommend this more for a sit down meal instead of to go. read more

The service was great. My food was fine. My husband's chicken was dry and tough. The prices have gone up ridiculously! A side of pasta with butter was almost 20.00 and a glass of wine was 17.00. My wife and I ate at Bravos! for our birthdays and it wasn't too busy for a Monday, but the service was slow because they need more servers. The rustic Italian atmosphere made it comfortable though. The Pasta Bravo and the Chicken Parmigiana was great along with the salads. The bread and roasted red pepper dipping oil was tasty. The creme brûlée dessert was excellent. I'm so sad:(. This has been my favorite place to come once a year for my birthday. I looked up the address last night to double check the opening time on Google, and it told me the time. I pulled up today and was meeting family. I searched back up on Apple Maps to see the walking distance from where I parked and saw it said "permanently closed". I walked there anyway and saw the sign is gone and they have a note on the door saying they had decided to close. I'm so upset because this is my favorite place. I'm also annoyed that Google didn't even show it was permanently closed , so we all drove about two hours to come. I wish there was at least one close by to go to because the closest locations are Virginia Beach and Pittsburgh :/. I'm sad to see this place go. read more

If I have spaghetti and meatballs, I don't want a 1" meatball, I want at least a 2" meatball. These meatballs did not disappoint. I would go back just for the meatballs. For dessert, my daughter had Gelato. She enjoyed it and said it was tasty. For dessert, my wife had Tiramisu. It was very tasty but I doubt it's homemade. For dessert I had creme brulee. It was delicious. The custard was flavorful and had a nice consistency. Our server was fantastic. The server stopped by many times to check on us and responded immediately to any requests, extra bread, drink refills. I don't give many five star reviews, I feel the quality and taste of the meatballs far outweigh and the sauce pushed it from a four to a five. I highly recommend these meatballs. read more

I have been to Bravo numerous times, Love the decor and outdoor seating. Service is generally good and food is so so. Used to be a 3, However, I really have lost interest after yesterday's lunch. 1) When Bravo and Brio had reasonable wine prices I was more inclined to go. The current menu has 9 oz red wine at $19. With tax and tip, that is $25. I refuse to pay it. Besides the huge markup on alcholol, they need a lower priced wine. Chechi is $18 a bottle when they could use Ruffino or Gabinano and lower the price substantially. 2) they changed their lunch menu. I like to eat a late lunch and no dinner. The lunch menu now only has a few pastas at a low price. If you want something better you must order from the dinner menu. I wanted chicken parm. Used to be you get one piece for $20 which I was fine with. Now you must pay almost $30 for two pieces, which I do not want. the end result is that they will limit themselves to low priced customers and loose customers that would order higher priced items and drink wine. ie $100 bill. Don't waste your time, with a reservation, we waited over an hour for our food, which once it was finally served had obviously been sitting in the pick window for some time (pasta was stuck together & dried out) had to ask for more sauce, the salad had a long string laying directly on top very visible, other sides were missing, had to be asked for. I attended a private event here with a group of 20. We had a pre planned menu with lots of different options, including pasta, salmon, salad and green beans. The service was fantastic. The servers catered to our every need and made sure we had plenty of to go boxes to take home all of goodies. The restaurant was clean and the restrooms were in good shape as well. If I had a complaint it would be the entering the building. There are two different doors. The side door is on the busier side of the street and the main entry is off to the side and feels like the side entrance. The side door isn't labeled and doesn't indicate that you should use the other door. Our table was near the side door so throughout the duration of our lunch we kept seeing people pull the door handle to enter and looking confused with how to enter the building. I think a sign exposing to use the other entrance would help with this. read more

Date night in Fredericksburg and our choice was a good one. Excellent atmosphere and bustling without being overcrowded. I was glad to be able to make a reservation on open table, but I don't think the wait would have been unbearable without it on a Friday evening. My only "glitch" with my service was that we ordered our food and then overheard the evening's specials being given to the table next to us! Our waiter made the decision that we did not need to hear the specials. We called him over to hear the specials and we both had to change to the sea bass, and oh my goodness am I glad we did! Our waiter definitely had an attitude about the change when we pointed out him not reading us the specials and us changing our order, but he eventually got it together. The sea bass was light and flavorful on a bed of spinach and I truly enjoyed every single bite! The bread and sun dried tomato infused olive oil was wonderful as well! I am extremely disappointed with the experience that I had with my family this past Sunday evening. It started with the host. There were only maybe 5 tables with guests, so the restaurant was relatively empty with several open tables. The host took several minutes to seat us, walking all around the restaurant to decide where to seat us. Then once we were sitting down in our chairs, he told us that we had to move somewhere else and walked across to the other side of the restaurant where it was chilly. We then met our waiter Donnell, who seemed annoyed that he had to even wait on us. We come to Bravo a few times per month, so we've seen Donnell before, but he has never been our server until this visit. Again, the restaurant was basically empty so the fact that it took almost 18 minutes to get our drinks (soda, iced tea, and lemonade), 25 minutes to get salads, and 30 minutes to get bread was ridiculous. When we finally received our food, he put cheese on it, but never asked how much cheese we wanted, he just put our food on the table and left. He never brought us refills on drinks and left us for at least 25 minutes without checking on us. The food was warm at best, the noodles in the pasta were gummy, there was barely any sauce, and the fruit that my son ordered did not come with his meal. When we were finally able to get Donnell's attention to ask for the missing fruit, he sighed heavily and it just seemed like an extreme inconvenience for him to have to get the side of fruit that my son was supposed to receive. We ordered dessert (cheesecake and an ice cream sundae for my son) and at first, I asked for the cheesecake to go because we had been in the restaurant waiting around for so long, but then I asked if we could have it to eat there before the dessert came out. Donnell again sighed heavily, rolled his eyes, and walked away. He then brought out a slice of cheesecake that was half frozen before walking away. After finishing dessert, we waited for another 20 minutes for Donnell to come back so that we could ask for the check. He brought the check, and I noticed that we were charged $10.99 for two side salads. When ordering a side salad with a pasta entrée the price is only supposed to be $7.99. It is clearly written on the menu, and we come to Bravo so often that I knew this was a mistake. I asked Donnell if side salads were supposed to be $7.99 and he scoffed and sarcastically replied "No" before walking away with my payment. As we were leaving, I walked to the host stand to check the menu because I knew that I was right about the pricing. I confirmed that I was correct and walked to the back where a manager was standing with another associate. I asked him to investigate the issue to see if I could be refunded for the $6 that I was overcharged. His response was that he could refund the $100 payment and charge me again for the corrected price. This meant that I would have to wait 3-4 business days for my refund and essentially $194 would be pulled from my account. I declined this option as this was extremely inconvenient for me. He then asked me if I wanted a free dessert which I also declined, as we had already had dessert and were ready to leave. I just told him to forget it and left because at that point I was frustrated. The manager could have given me a gift card for the amount that I was overcharged, that would have been sufficient, but it seemed like he was really young and immature and didn't really care that his server made this error. I have been coming to Bravo with my family for years now. Certain servers and hosts know us, and I have always received exceptional customer service until now. I am extremely disappointed and hope that my feedback can lead to training/coaching opportunities on proper customer service. read more

We went during lunchtime, and the restaurant, had about two or three other tables at the time of service. We quickly received our appetizer bread and oil, which was amazing with a sun-dried tomato oil. Our server recommended the spinach artichoke dip due to the flat bread, and it was incredible! We both thought that we ordered the lunch special which was half an entrée and a salad however, after getting our receipt ours, we realize our server charged one of us for full entrée and for salad. The salad was nothing to write home about. The pasta, however, was pretty good. Our server informed us that they purchased flour from Italy to make the homemade pasta and due to it being homemade, that sometimes it absorbs the sauce on the entrée. So I do recommend if you get the pasta woozie then you get a side of extra Alfredo. As far as ambience, it was okay, but clean nevertheless. read more

My first visit to Bravo! The outside of the restaurant is really nice. Love the outdoor sitting area. This inside decor and atmosphere is very nice. The food was really good. I took off one star because they did not have any mozzarella, so I could not order the flatbread nor the pizza. Hopefully I can next time. The Fra Diavolo was delicious. Loved the sauce. I've visited there timed since their reopening. Thankfully for them the review is based on the average of all three bc today was not the best experience. Avoid the lasagna, they have a different take and it's very soupy w very little meat and lots of cheese. I've also had their spaghetti, salmon salad, and eggplant parm were pretty decent. Their calamari is very bland I would avoid if you like calamari like I do. There spinach dip is good though. Service w exception of this recent visit has been good, beyond the average and I've been during the week and on a weekend. Ugh! I should have done a review last week, I guess, when everything was spot on. This week not so much. But I guess every review helps management, right? Ordered Pasta Woozie both times. The atmosphere is always nice. Issues I had this visit: The bread that comes with the spiced olive oil was hard! I'm so used to it being soft that I thought certainly my server must have grabbed the wrong kind. But when questioned I learned that they were aware & that as soon as possible they would have the soft bread back. (The crunchy bread doesn't work for dipping.) My water glass was empty more often than not. There wasn't the usual amount of sauce. When I requested a little more, I was given that right away. I also had to request the grated cheese that the server usually brings out automatically. You know when you take a few bites of something that doesn't quite taste right? Then a few more bites trying to figure out if it was just those first few? I never did decide if it was the noodles, sauce, chicken, or spinach. Verdict: I'm extremely thankful that I had a discount code. I'll definitely be back in hopes that last week's visit was the norm & tonight was just an "off" night. We made reservations on Open Table, we received a confirmation email. When we arrived they said that they did not receive the reservation. We showed them the email and the reservation, they said they didn't receive it but would try to accommodate us. The restaurant wasn't even half full! The man began to tell me how people are always telling him that the have reservations bit really don't, I said, but do they show you the email confirmation? The service was slow, the food was disappointing in bothe the quality and presentation. My potatoes were partially overcooked, some were multistage because, it was under the heat lamp too long. The coffee was weak and tasteless. The soup bowl was only 3/4 filled. I have tried the place more than once since it reopened, not sure there will be another time.
