    Taco Dinner w/ barbacoa
    Amanda B.

Perfect spot for an early dinner. Classic Mexican menu and dishes that did not disappoint! Got the Barbacoa taco dinner

Chips are ok - salsa is freshy!!

Unexpectedly great. The staff warm up slowly, but they are fantastic. Kind, attentive and present. The margs are solid, but I'd recommend a shot of Gran Marnier on the side to add to it - they are a bit sweet. Guac is good, the nachos with ground beef is as good an appetizer as you'll find anywhere - be sure to ask for the hot sauces! The b-fast burrito is available all day. I went with chorizo. So good. The quesadillas are tasty as well - also tried it with chorizo (note: the chorizo is not too oily or salty - appreciate that!) Don't just roll by this place on North Ave!

Asada Birria and El Pastor tacos ...

Food was great on point ! The waiteress that helped and waited on my table was probably one of the best people I've ever had wait on my table ! Not only did she check to see if everything was good...She went above and beyond with customer service..great eye contact awesome verbal communication and also when I told her I was new and wanted the hottest chili... she gave me the best one... IF YOU NEVER BEEN HERE..YOU MUST GO ASAP

No-frills Mexican place that hangs in the middle of the pack. There's no shortage of taquieras in Melrose Park, especially along the stretch of North Avenue from Wolf Rd to Harlem. You can get your fill of limonada, carne asada, and muy picante salsas at any of these local spots, and Bravo is no exception. Stopping in for lunch, they feature specials priced from $5.99 and up. I went with my standby order of enchiladas--1 chicken, 1 beef--and was neither impressed nor disappointed. When asked about receiving red sauce vs. green sauce, I politely requested one of each, but when my food arrived I saw only salsa verde, no salsa roja. Lunch special came with refried beans and rice, and for $6 was a great value. Good homemade chips & salsa; the salsa had plenty of kick, way more so than other places. No free refills on horchata, sadly, and it tasted different that others I've had. Service was adequate, although I had to repeat my order again to the lone waitress/barkeep. Restaurant was clean and the dining area is lightly decorated. Hilarious (subtitled) soap operas were on TV, which I've come to expect at these types of places. Bread = 4 Circuses = 3 While not on the same level as another Mexican restaurant (which is conveniently located 100 yards east of Bravo), you should still be able to find something to your liking here. I would recommend......but nothing can hold a candle to Alejandra's.

This Place Is Great Food Always Has Flavor I Don't Think You Can Go Wrong With Anything On The Menu. I'm Giving Them 4 Stars Because Their Service Can Be Hit Or Miss At Times. I've Been Here When Service Was Great And Bad But It's Mostly On Bad Side Their Not Very Attentive. I Always Get The Tampiqueña. Which Is Skirt Steak With A Cheese Enchilada On Top, It's Amazing Steak Is Very Juicy And Flavorful. MUST TRY

Why three stars? Because it took three hours to have dinner here. Our server was friendly and I'm sure works very hard. We watched her turn probably a dozen tables on her own. However, our table somehow got lost. Forty five minutes after ordering drinks and apps, she came by to take our entree order. That's were things went further downhill. Our ticket got lost and it took an hour for her to figure that out because she was slammed. So all in all, 3 hours. The good: food is authentic and fresh. The guacamole and salsa are very tasty and the ceviche is alright. I wasn't impressed with it. We ordered 3 drunken margaritas (1 cucumber and 2 mango) that were huge and very flavorful. Our entrees were delicious. I had barbacoa and picadillo tacos and enjoyed both. I heard (because they wouldn't share) from my companions that the cheese enchiladas and al pastor were very good, too. Rice and beans were on point. Fluffy rice, smokey creamy beans. Not sure if will venture back here on a Friday night again.

Checking my bookmarks for tacos & decided to check them out FINALLY. Initially, I was doing takeout, but after seeing the tip about $3 Margaritas I decided to drink & dine in. I ordered 2 cucumber Margaritas, steak tacos & a shrimp dinner. Steak tacos were REALLY good. Good meat & fresh veggies. Shrimp dinner wasn't that great. They were bland and not flavorful at all. I actually gave it 2 my hungry ass friend! Lol. The service was really good too. I had no issues there, which I really can appreciate when I'm trying a new spot. I will definitely be back!!!!!

    Complimentary Chips & Salsas

My boyfriend recently came here for lunch and really liked it so we made dinner plans to come here. The exterior makes you wonder what's waiting for you inside, but whalaa! Inside it's quite nice. Round/square wooden tables with a beautifully structured bar. Fine dining meet fast food. We were greeted and seated immediately and served complimentary chips and salsa (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/20lCFdYEzdC6kvxFuT8tUA?select=WsIPWB0Hr_q58Go8pOxi5w). The salsas didn't blow me away, but I'm a fan of complimentary starters. Next up, flautas (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/20lCFdYEzdC6kvxFuT8tUA?select=OpA_gKMZlW-uZlWsrrrrYA), chorizo and chicken. Really enjoyed the chorizo ones, but the chicken flautas lacked flavored. Main course (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/20lCFdYEzdC6kvxFuT8tUA?select=OysrWmaNJUx5ehFJsTWMHg): can't recall what it was called, but we ordered a dish that had said *for 2*, but were we in for a surprise! The dish came out and you can feed at least 3 or 4 people easily! There was shredded pork, skirt steak, marinated chicken, shrimp, and chorizo to be eaten with tortillas (your choice of flour or corn). Definitely enjoyed the steak, shrimp, and chorizo, the pork was on the dry side, but I topped the meats with the complimentary salsa for some extra flavor and it was tasty. Margarita Lime (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/20lCFdYEzdC6kvxFuT8tUA?select=fiEhH_mUJawkfxNfQIeviw). Lime is correct. It was extremely sour, which led me to think it wasn't fresh lime, but bottles. Not a fan. Overall, decent food and pricing. Would like to come back and try other dishes, like their enchiladas!

    Carne Tampiquena... delicious.

I've been to Bravo several times. I guess you can say we are normals there. I've tried several of their foods and am always happy when I come here. I love their caldo de res (Beef Stew) and their Carne Oaxaqueña (skirt steak topped with mole sauce and melted cheese). Everything I've tried here is always good but those have to be some of my favorite dishes. I've also had their drinks and they're very good. They're not like some of these other places that put almost no liquor in them. The drinks always are delicious. They have outdoor seating when the weather is nice. If you're in the area I recommend you stop by!

The food here is FANTASTIC! Service is good & the drinks are very very tasty!!! I HIGHLY recommend the mojito!!!!! WOW!!! They also have menudo and pozole on the weekends which are very good. Finishing off your meal with flan is definitely a MUST. If you like Karaoke...then you will want to be here Friday nights. It is a BLAST! Go early it fills up fast... Def my new spot.

the food is OK. The service is very very, very slow. There's just not enough workers to wait forever to get your food.

El Mana is just a small storefront restaurant in a corner plaza. Inside is very basic, no real decor, simple tables and chairs. The clientele seems to be mainly Hispanic which is always a good sign. For such a small place the menu is fairly extensive including breakfast and a whole page of seafood entrees. I ended up ordering the Camerones Al Mojo De Ajo (shrimp in garlic sauce). While waiting for my food I enjoyed the chips and salsa, good flavor and fresh, although the salsa was a bit salty. In about 10 minutes my food came out nicely presented on a pretty fish shaped dish, a large portion of shrimp, rice and a simple salad topped with fresh avocado slices and some warm flour tortillas. The shrimp were excellent plump and meaty in a zippy sauce laced with garlic. The rice was a great compliment, while the salad gave a nice fresh crisp element to the meal. Overall an excellent meal and a great dinner. El Mana is a great place to get some excellent Mexican food at a reasonable price, portions are generous, flavors a big, bold and straightforward. Service was good, but this is not a high end place, really not much to see and really nothing except great food.

They have karaoke every first Saturday of the month til midnight, and it was busy. The waiters at the restaurant almost didn't let us in because we were with our infant baby and the only side that was open was the bar and karaoke area that has slot machines. But luckily, one of the karaoke hosts recognized us and we were able to dine in and I was able to perform once! Our baby doesn't mind loud noises and fell asleep an hour into being there despite the hustle and bustle of Saturday night karaoke. While I was excited to perform and sing, I made sure to bring my appetite! When we arrived, we sat in the far back near the restrooms. It took a while for someone to take our order, so we flagged down one of the busboys, and he was wonderful. He brought us two orders of chips and salsa as we waited for the bartender to take our order. My husband and I shared the Campana Combo plate which was higher in price on the menu compared to their online website. The Campana Combo plate included a beef taco, beef chile relleno, chicken enchilada, and bistec a la mexicana with a side of rice and beans. We also ordered a sopapia as dessert! My husband is Mexican and he's told me about sopapias as an inside joke we have, but we didn't know they existed! It was a light, fluffy puff pastry drizzled with honey and came with a side of strawberries and jam. My husband also ordered two modelos with limes and I had a coke with two refills in between singing. The coke was a little flat. Altogether, the price was $45.37 for our meal. I am glad they were willing to let us dine in despite bringing our baby along. He's gotta come everywhere with us - we've got no other choices! Karaoke was very fun. Online it says every first Saturday of the month from 9-12am, so next time I'll try to come earlier! The karaoke spots fill up fast, and you've got to tell the host/DJ your song and name to get in line. One of the waiters, Peter, was a regular singer and he was wonderful to listen to! It was some of the tastiest Mexican food I've tried. Next time, I would love for the chile relleno to come on the side without sauce so I could taste the crispiness of the batter! Ambiance had some .....interesting characters who came out to watch, the singers were fun and sang a variety of music genres, and the crowd was supportive... lots of high fives and claps were given to me after I performed. We would definitely come back for the food and the karaoke, but they gotta keep letting us bring our baby, haha!

He was funny and gave impeccable service. I always appreciate when the server reads the order back to you and checks on your table just enough,
