    Fried ice cream

My husband and I stopped by for lunch after church. I had the carne asada platillo with shrimp. It was amazing! My husband had a 4 taco dinner and his was delicious as well. The fried ice cream is a must try...soo good! The service was superb. Staff was very professional and attentive to our table. The prices were reasonable and the ambiance was excellent...very clean! We will definitely be back!

The new Taqueria Mi Palenque is so beautifully redone! The food is as delicious and fresh as always and the service was also great! There is a nice little bar and spacious patio as well!

I loved the the decor with the Mexican art and the design of the sign outside. It was a busy Sunday and they seemed short handed. The host tried to attend to us quickly. I tried the taco dinner with Al pastor and milanesa de pollo. The tacos we decent. The rice and beans were pretty good. I didn't rate it hire because we were sat at a table that was not clean, we had to ask for silverware and napkins.

I can't get enough! Family-owned business and the whole crew are SWEETHEARTS! Always greeting their customers with a warm hello and smile. HOW AMAZING IS THAT!? I'm pretty basic, I always go with the steak burrito! SUPER FILLING!

    Gordita de asada

I had a gordita, it was pretty good! Nice and soft, not oily . The meat was good as well. I will come back here for my gorditas and try something new. My husband had steak with cheese and Rajas , came with hand made tortillas! So yummy.

I've been coming here for years, the service and the food only keep getting better and better very time. Their pozole on the weekends is the best! Highly recommended this small business establishment

We ordered take out for a group of 6 & it was ready by the time we finished our beer. The chips & cheese had lots of cheese! The food was good & service too. I took off a star because they only have canned soda- no fountain.

Taco de carne asada with onion and cilantro

Been coming here since i was a kid and the food has not changed! Carne de asada tacos get stuffed with meat and are bite sized chunks of carne asada! Super good and pretty good price for the area.

New month, so I'm going to try something new and write this review in Spanglish. Sabes que? Este taqueria es muy delicious. It opened about uno o dos meses ago, and everytime I pass it, hay siempre muchos customers inside. I was like "orale carnal, I need to go to this place to get me some comida so I can cure this pinche hangover, porque trague muchas cervezas last night. Pinche crudo chingadamadre man!" Anyway, like I was saying, the food aqui es muy bueno. Mi cosa preferida is the steak burrito. Pero the tacos are bomb too. I've had the tacos al pastor y lengua. The al pastor here es un poco diferente than most places, porque no es dulce and it's... como se dice? Oh yes, "saucier". Pero it's pretty good anyway. I don't order tongue tacos too often pero they were off da chain. I added some lime y salsa verde y ya se chingo. Speaking of which, las salsas aqui son excelentes. Especially the green hot sauce porque es caliente e hizo que salen mis boogers. No joke. It has some kick to it. Pero I aint no puto, so I ate it all! My only complaint is the gorditas. No son malos pero they aren't great either. Honestly they tasted like some burrito supreme mierda, como algo de mierda de Taco Bell que los pinche gueros cabrones comen. I like gorditas con las cebollas y cilantro solamente. Not all that lettuce, tomato n sour cream bullshiz. Will not order these otra vez. Pero todo es bueno and this place is a nice addition to Northlake. Me volvere.

The food was ok. Nothing extravagant. Wasn't too happy about the lady putting my tortilla chips in the bag with her bare hand. Thus 2 stars.

El Mana is just a small storefront restaurant in a corner plaza. Inside is very basic, no real decor, simple tables and chairs. The clientele seems to be mainly Hispanic which is always a good sign. For such a small place the menu is fairly extensive including breakfast and a whole page of seafood entrees. I ended up ordering the Camerones Al Mojo De Ajo (shrimp in garlic sauce). While waiting for my food I enjoyed the chips and salsa, good flavor and fresh, although the salsa was a bit salty. In about 10 minutes my food came out nicely presented on a pretty fish shaped dish, a large portion of shrimp, rice and a simple salad topped with fresh avocado slices and some warm flour tortillas. The shrimp were excellent plump and meaty in a zippy sauce laced with garlic. The rice was a great compliment, while the salad gave a nice fresh crisp element to the meal. Overall an excellent meal and a great dinner. El Mana is a great place to get some excellent Mexican food at a reasonable price, portions are generous, flavors a big, bold and straightforward. Service was good, but this is not a high end place, really not much to see and really nothing except great food.

My favorite thing, their specialty, is Pupusas. It's basically a corn masa, with meat & cheese inside, then fried on the flat top. The chorizo is excellent! They always give you a basket of chips with tasty, low-heat salsa, and I love the salsa verde they serve with the meal. It's a small and humble place, but a real hidden gem!

Also had the El Elote and these were not exactly my favorite version. There was a mix of several flavors. My main lunch was the Pescado Frito which I decided could actually be the best fish tacos I've ever had. Would definitely return for this dish. Needed a dessert so tried the Date Pudding. Expecting something resembling a pudding, was a little surprised that the dish was really a cake. Very tasty and definitely needed the ice cream on the side. Overall, was pleased with the offerings. Cost might have been a little steep for a casual lunch, but then again I did order several items.

The restaurant is medium sized, clean, and spacious, with a wide variety of menu options. They offer brunch, lunch, dinner, desserts, and happy hour which is a nice bonus. I do wish the happy hour details were listed on a menu or somewhere visible. Our server, who was new, let us know that margaritas were half of and only select tacos were $2 for taco Tuesday. We each ordered a margarita, which was deliciously only $6 each. For starters, we shared the "Los Tres Diaz" platter, which includes guacamole, elote and fish ceviche served with chips. Everything was fresh and flavorful and great way for two people to sample a bit of everything. As for the tacos, the happy hours election wasn't as appealing so I opted for the shrimp tacos. Instead, the order came with three good size tacos and although the rice and beans are available as an add-on they don't come with a meal. The highlight was definitely the mango pineapple, pico de gallo, and added so much flavor. Overall, we had a great experience. The food was delicious. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was relaxed. I'd definitely come back.

They have karaoke every first Saturday of the month til midnight, and it was busy. The waiters at the restaurant almost didn't let us in because we were with our infant baby and the only side that was open was the bar and karaoke area that has slot machines. But luckily, one of the karaoke hosts recognized us and we were able to dine in and I was able to perform once! Our baby doesn't mind loud noises and fell asleep an hour into being there despite the hustle and bustle of Saturday night karaoke. While I was excited to perform and sing, I made sure to bring my appetite! When we arrived, we sat in the far back near the restrooms. It took a while for someone to take our order, so we flagged down one of the busboys, and he was wonderful. He brought us two orders of chips and salsa as we waited for the bartender to take our order. My husband and I shared the Campana Combo plate which was higher in price on the menu compared to their online website. The Campana Combo plate included a beef taco, beef chile relleno, chicken enchilada, and bistec a la mexicana with a side of rice and beans. We also ordered a sopapia as dessert! My husband is Mexican and he's told me about sopapias as an inside joke we have, but we didn't know they existed! It was a light, fluffy puff pastry drizzled with honey and came with a side of strawberries and jam. My husband also ordered two modelos with limes and I had a coke with two refills in between singing. The coke was a little flat. Altogether, the price was $45.37 for our meal. I am glad they were willing to let us dine in despite bringing our baby along. He's gotta come everywhere with us - we've got no other choices! Karaoke was very fun. Online it says every first Saturday of the month from 9-12am, so next time I'll try to come earlier! The karaoke spots fill up fast, and you've got to tell the host/DJ your song and name to get in line. One of the waiters, Peter, was a regular singer and he was wonderful to listen to! It was some of the tastiest Mexican food I've tried. Next time, I would love for the chile relleno to come on the side without sauce so I could taste the crispiness of the batter! Ambiance had some .....interesting characters who came out to watch, the singers were fun and sang a variety of music genres, and the crowd was supportive... lots of high fives and claps were given to me after I performed. We would definitely come back for the food and the karaoke, but they gotta keep letting us bring our baby, haha!
