Today, I…read morefound that the milk tastes like it's beginning to turn, the eggs are watery, and the pre-cut watermelon has a moldy/sandy flavor--all signs that these products are likely older than their expiration dates indicate. Returning the food will be inconvenient; however, I will return it and complain. Publix doesn't hesitate to charge its customers top dollar for its merchandise. I won't hesitate to insist that the merchandise at least be fresh.

The outside is in a great location next to Capt Curt's and the Daquiri Deck, it's unassuming, but always well kept inside. Located within walking distance of our condo, we go several times when we are visiting each year, as my kids love hunting for the ducks and I love checking out all of the specialty food and drinks they sell. The market itself has a small selection of everyday essentials sprinkled with specialty items that you don't often see in other places. Being in a beach vacation town, one of the things they have most of are drinks - a walk-in cooler with all of the beers and canned drinks you can imagine, several aisles of great wines, and even some specialty THC drinks. Tucked in the back is a little bakery and deli with Boars Head meats and locally made pies - both are a must! We tried the chopped Italian sandwich and we always have to get the banana caramel pie and tropical fruit key lime pie. The banana especially is by far one of the best pies you'll ever eat, don't miss it! Because we love this place, I'm giving it 5 stars, but this last year we did have one of the rudest customer service experiences yet. Everyone is typically very friendly and helpful, but the older lady working the front register was judgement and made us very uncomfortable. My 14 year old son had helped his sisters (4, 2, and 1) find their ducks and she didn't want to let any of them participate because he was the one who showed them to her (because they are stop small to reach over the belt). We had bought several items and this was one of the many trips we had made there that week. I'm only writing this in hopes that the owner sees it because when I asked why she was being so mean, she said because the owners were strict. I'd hope that they would actually encourage a teenager to help his younger siblings instead of punishing them all.

Parking lot is ok, not bad at all. The worse one to this date is still Tampa. Since Sarasota has a new Trader Joe's in UTC, I often go there, but this one is still a good one. UTC parking lot is the biggest being in a strip mall, but I think I think I like this one better.

Welp, DEFINITELY not for this location. The layout is perfectly not overwhelming, it doesn't fully force you to go into the store in some kind of zig zaggy way while bumping into people and getting kicked off as you're trying to walk through the aisles or with the staff anxiously unpacking boxes and restocking product. What I love the most about TJs in FL is of course the easy access and low cost wine selection. So we of course loaded up with some delicious wine and Prosecco. I could not understand what my bully was saying due to her accent. I am hearing impaired. The other checkout employee, who I could understand refused to assist, which I believe is a violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act. When I asked for a manager, I was lied to multiple times. I was told there was no manager onsite. I was told the manager was on lunch. I was told the manager wouldn't be in until the following morning. I was told I couldn't leave my contact information for the manager because it "would violate my privacy?!!!" I was presented with an employee claiming to be a manager. Finally, the manager "that wasn't there" appeared. I don't understand why I was treated this way. I do not understand why I was lied to. There are no other affordable full grocery options available in the area. Publix charges 30%+ more for their groceries. Basically, Walmart has determined that if we workers want to be able to buy affordable groceries we have to accept being treated horribly and No, they will not accommodate you disabilities if they don't want to.

Spouts carries several prepared foods and meals in addition to made-to-order sandwiches to and sushi. There are a variety of vegetarian and vegan items which I like. They always have a good array of seasonal items. I can also find organic purple fleshed sweet potatoes here which is awesome as they are not easily found otherwise. I also enjoy the organic sourdough bread selection. The baked goods they offer are good as well-don't sleep on the vegan chocolate chip cookies.
