Good place to get things altered. We decided to try some place new, and found this place here on Yelp, and it's really close to our house! We just needed our daughter's school skirts to get altered, to make them a bit longer. We dropped them off Friday afternoon and picked them up Saturday afternoon. Good turn around. The staff was nice, and friendly, the shop was clean, and neat. Both times we came, parking lot was mostly empty, and the shop wasn't too busy. Prices are ok, they are similar to other shops. Didn't have a bad experience with that, like I've read in another review before trying this place out. read more

My wedding dress flew in extremely late from Manhattan last year. I had only 48 hours to get my long (4-5ft) tail taken off and shortened before heading out of state. I've had a few pairs of pants hemmed here. She uses a loose stitch or does a sloppy job - the hem on two of these pairs of pants has come undone. On one, it keeps getting stuck in my heel. So frustrating. Also, she charged me a different price every time. Giving the extra star because of quick turnaround. read more

My daughter had 2 skirts and 1 pair of shorts simply hemmed and the waist taken in. The cost was $180.00!! This was not an expedited service and completely unreasonable. I would not advise anyone who is looking for a reasonable rate for alterations to use this business. read more

i took in three pants last week to have zipper, and two seems fixed- when I picked up & looked them over, one wasn't complete. i said this isn't finished- she said she needed more money to do more. i mentioned it needs to be done as first requested. She just starred at me for the longest time. Then rolled her eyes and went to sit down. Made no efforts to make things right. Then texted me two days later asking if I took the pants with me. Also, i had brought in two corduroy pants couple years before and when asked i requested to keep original hem. She said ok. She only did that for one pair & realized it when handing them to me- . Still wanted to charge me full price when now my pants aren't the way I requested. Terrible customer service and always asking for more money at pick ups. read more

I just picked up my daughter's dress. First time I used this particular tailor. While it seems that she did a fine job, her pricing was outrageous. My mistake for not asking the price at drop-off but I thought I had a sense of the industry standard. She charged $60 to shorten the straight hem of the dress by 2 inches. No additional work anywhere on the dress. Yes it's a two-layer dress but I've never paid anything close to that amount for this type of basic shortening work. When alterations cost more than the whole dress, something is wrong. Won't go back. read more

Had my pants hemed but felt they came out on the short side. Went in to have them re-done. She greeted me with a frown. Tried to fix them and made them a little too long then I asked her to put them back to normal and she asked for an additional $20. I was applauded at her attitude and request in a rude manner. This was my first time to Brazilia and I was very impressed. Sima helped me on Wednesday night. I requested to pick up my pants on Saturday and she said no problem. She was so nice we conversed a few more minutes. I then mentioned I had a suit being shipped on Friday and asked if it was possible to pick it up Saturday so I could bring it on my business trip on Monday. She told me to give her a call and she will work something out. Friday came along, I received my suit in the mail, called Sima and mentioned I would be there shortly. When I walked in the greeted me and had my suit ready that I dropped off on Wednesday, knowing I was dropping off the other. Then she told me she made time in the afternoon and she will have my second suit ready that same day. This wonderful service is what prompted me to write this review. If i could give a negative and big Yell out Do Not Go Here i would! I took a pair of Jeans shorts in to be hemmed! The gal that helped me never gave me a price, so my bad for not asking. In my defense i have gone there before but about two years ago. I paid $4.00 back then for an easy turn up hem which is what this was. I went to pick them up and the store manager, Sima? told me it was $28 !! I told her that had to be wrong. She insisted that since the new owner Patricia - prices have gone up. I told her the shorts cost me $10 at Kohl's. She didnt care she said i could pay it or they will keep my shorts. I told her that the gal that took them for me never told me they would be any price or that much for that matter. She said she didn't care! I told her those prices were extremely high and no one would ever imagine it to cost that much. No resolve i had to leave my shorts there! This lady that works here is a piece of work. I have no idea how this place stays in business. My husband had 3 pairs of pants that needed to be altered. First off, she charged us $150, which was a little steep in my opinion. My husband went to go pick them up on the day she promised it would be ready, and upon arriving, she said they weren't ready. So I had to go pick them up on another day because my husband couldn't make it. My husband tried the pants on and it was tapered too tight on the bottom. We went back to get them re-altered, and she tried to blame us for not trying them when they were ready...umm lady, you didn't have them ready for my husband when you said you would!! My husband goes to pick up his pants and she straight up said the hem on the pants is not her stitching and that we must have taken them someplace else. WHAT?? Why on earth would be take them someplace else? We want her to undo the mess she made on the pants! I will never ever go back, if I could give this place negative stars, I would. They (Vickie and Sima) have perfected everything I have brought them from formal attire to casual wear and even adjustments for my kids. I tell all my friends to go to Brazilia. I never personally write poor reviews, but today I picked up a Bridesmaid dress and immediately when I walk in the door the lady tells me it is going to be $10 extra charge for pressing the dress (which I never asked them to do or approved of them to do). I simply asked them to complete alterations to my dress NEVER once did I ask them to press it. When I tried on the dress I noticed a stain on the dress that was not there before I took it in. The dress was brand new straight out of a box from Show Me Your Mumu. I showed the lady this stain and she looked at me like I was insane and then proceeded to pretend not to speak english and was acting extremely confused. She never once offered to refund me for THEIR mistake. First of all, this type of dress should NEVER be pressed it is the type of fabric that should only be steamed, Brazilia BURNED my dress and did not once offer to fix THEIR mistake. I am so dissapointed and upset with the way that they treated their mistake and me. It was HORRIBLE customer service and I would never ever recommend this place to anyone if I could give it less than one star I would. read more

If I could have given zero or negative stars, I would have. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING IN HERE THAT IS IMPORTANT TO YOU. Sima is not competent to do anything more than hem a cheap pair of jeans. She took a dress that my daughter needed for an event and ruined it. It was an asymmetrical hem, and we asked to have it hemmed to the shortest point and have it taken in at the waist. The hem came back uneven and she cut it shorter than it had been before. My daughter is only 5'2", yet this hack shortened it to the point that it was obscene in the back. The waist was taken in but sewn crooked so it hangs terribly. She did not stand behind her work, would not refund the money we paid for the alterations--lesson learned, try on before paying. We paid for the dress, the alterations, and had to buy another dress the night before leaving for college. This woman has no honor and does not stand behind her work. I write this honestly to warn others before their clothes are ruined. She, on the other hand, should be ashamed of herself. read more
