I came to Elegante Tailoring to have a dress taken in in the bust area. I came in, was greeted right away, tried on the garment and had it pinned to my satisfaction before leaving the dress for the tailor to work her magic. I returned in one week and tried on the garment again and it fit perfectly! I am very happy with the work and I felt that the price for alteration was very reasonable. The shop states clearly that they only take cash or check when you drop off the garment so I was prepared when I came back to pick it up. I will likely use Elegante Tailoring again! read more

I lost weight and no matter how many expensive bathing suits I purchased and even tried a size smaller, I could not get the bottoms around the back of my butt to cup my older skinnier butt and hold it up! Tina removed the original elastic on the back part of the bathing suit bottom and made it fit perfectly! I could not be happier and she did a beautiful job! I used to sew a lot, but haven't in a while and didn't feel comfortable reworking my MiracleSuit at $250 a suit any longer, so took them to Tina and I am so happy. I was looking for a dress to be hemmed with a few other slight alterations. I came across this place and decide to come in based off of reviews. The owner was very straightforward with me, and discussed everything that she would do to the dress, including the price. I picked up the dress, and all of the alterations looked good except that I forgot my shoes, so I couldn't tell if the length was right. However, since we originally measured the length to cut with the heels that I would be wearing with the dress, I assumed that the length was fine. When I got home and tried it on with the heels, it was still a tiny bit too long. Seriously, no idea how that ended up happening, but she did say I could come in and she would fix at no charge. I appreciated that, but I had already committed my time to helping out the bride with errands. I didn't have time to come back another two times. I hoped that it had been right from beginning. Prices start at $80 for hemming a dress, which she did inform me about. However, after talking to other bridesmaids and friends at the wedding I felt that that may have been a bit much. Also, this place is CASH OR CHECK ONLY. A sign somewhere stating that in the store or online would be a dream. My dress was done on time, and steamed, so very happy about that. Lastly, I recommend asking the owner about her schedule and plan accordingly if you need something for an event. I went in the first time based off of the hours online and they were wrong, so I had google edit the hours. However, google maps gives you a different set of hours, and Yelp says something else. I know they close at 5pm during the week, but I'm not sure what time they open. The owner may close early or on certain days without much notice so always call ahead before you head over. Might be misleading if you're going off of what the internet says, so hopefully you read this first. The owner is very nice, but I'm giving 3 stars due to the hours and payments accepted not being communicated properly, and because my dress was not hemmed perfectly on the first try, although I'm not sure how that happened. read more

I came to her with a bridesmaids dress that was almost 2 sizes to big and almost 6 inches too long. Brought in two real fur jackets that are from the late 40s/early 50s. The lining of the mink was coming apart and overall the jacket just needed some love. The other jacket needed a giant repair...one of the kittens got a claw-hold of the back somehow and ripped a 3" jagged patch off the back. Fortunately I found the piece he was playing with. Brought it in and the repair job was flawless. Also the price was ridiculously low, and Tina did it in less than 24 hours!! IF YOU HAVE EXPENSIVE JEANS THAT NEED TAILORING THIS IS THE PLACE!!! What can I say, coming here was the best decision. I own a pair of Levis 501 selvadge vintage jeans that I previously had length adjusted from a dry cleaners and I needed the bottom half of legs to be taken in. I googled Jean tailor shop and this came up. I called and a kind Vietnamese lady answered and quoted me $15 for jeans. So I came in and upon arrival was suprised to how small the place is. When she came out she told me to try the jeans on. When she measured me she told me that both legs are uneven and asked who hemmed my jeans. I told her a local dry cleaner in Irvine and she laughed and told me to never go to those places for adjustments. So she offered to re-do the length as well and I agreed. I told her I wanted my length to be 32 and bottom half of jeans to be taken in 1 inch. She measured me, adjusted lengths with pins and told me to take them off and they will be done in 4 days. She also quoted me $40 for everything so I told her these jeans are expensive and please be exact. Upon receiving the jeans not only did she tailor them the way I wanted, they fit perfect as if it came out the factory tailored. I was so pleased and tipped her an additional $10 on top of the $40 she asked for. I will post pics soon but if you really want to trust a tailor with your expensive jeans or anything else for that matter, she is the one! I will be coming here from now on for all my expensive clothes! read more

I went to pick it up the week before the wedding, during normal business hours to find a sign on the door saying they are on vacation for the next 3 weeks. No emergency number was left, and I know for a fact she took down my phone number, and didn't think to call me. I'm sad to say that I have never been able to try Elegante Tailoring. Every time I have gone by they have a sign stating they're gone for X amount of days. Every time I call no one picks up, most likely for the same reason. Either the hours posted are for show or they must not really need the business. I came across Elegant Tailoring after a Google search and I'm so glad i did, Tina was so sweet and willing to help even with a tight deadline. My daughter was a little nervous as she had decided to wear flats under her floor length dress and was hoping for a perfect hem to show off pretty sandals and pedicure. Tina (owner and seamstress) is so friendly and welcoming. I took a bridesmaid dress here not knowing if what I wanted done to the dress was possible. She was able to hem the dress, make the chest area smaller, and let the seem out in the rib cage so it was not as tight. Completed in 1.5 weeks for $80.
