Texas de Brazil in Fresno has become one of my favorite restaurants, and we go there at least once…read morea month. I rate restaurants on a 5-point scale based on food quality, service, cleanliness, and price/value/variety (1 point each), plus wait time/pacing and atmosphere/ambiance (0.5 point each). Based on that scale, I would give Texas de Brazil a 4.7 out of 5. Every time we visit, the restaurant is spotless. Cleanliness is clearly a priority, from the dining area to the salad bar, which is always fresh, flavorful, well-stocked, and beautifully maintained. Even though it is self-service, staff are constantly checking the area, keeping it clean, and making sure dishes are replenished. The service is excellent. The servers are attentive from the moment you arrive. They offer drinks quickly, explain the menu, and remain consistently present without being intrusive. Your plate never stays empty for long, and you never feel like you have to chase someone down for service. The meats are absolutely delicious, beautifully cooked, flavorful, and plentifu, and I mean plen-ti-ful. Since Texas de Brazil is all-you-can-eat, you really do get your money's worth. It is on the pricier side, which is why I would take 0.3 off for price/value/variety, but the quality of the food, the service, and the amount you can enjoy still make it worth it. I've seen some reviews mention feeling rushed, especially during busy times or holidays. My recommendation is simple: use the red/green card system to your advantage. If you turn your card to red, they stop bringing meat to your table. When you're ready for more, turn it back to green. That makes the experience much more enjoyable and lets you eat at your own pace. Another plus is that they often have online promotions where you can buy multiple dinners at a significant discount, usually valid Monday through Thursday. Even when using those deals, the quality and service remain just as good. The only item I personally found a bit too salty was the Parmesan chicken, so I'd skip that one or try it with caution. As for dessert, they've all been wonderful so far, but the carrot cake is currently my favorite. Overall, Texas de Brazil is absolutely worth it if you enjoy great service, quality food, and a dining experience that feels like a treat every time.

I'm coming back to update my 1-star review after about a year. To be honest, I only gave this place…read moreanother shot because I had a gift card, but I have to say... it was a lot better this time around! I went during peak hours on a busy day, and seeing the place packed actually made me feel a bit more secure. I figured with that many customers, the kitchen and salad bar would naturally stay fresher since the food is constantly being cycled out. While I still think any establishment should keep things up to par regardless of how slow it is, the difference in freshness this time was really noticeable compared to my first visit when it was dead. The service was great, which is a big win for me because even in my last review, I mentioned the service was the one thing they got right. I'm really glad to see that's still super consistent here. As for the food, they had a lot of "trendy" meats that I've been hearing about. I think it's a cut that's been all over TikTok the Picanha cut? I might be wrong on the name, but I'd heard people talking about it and it was super good and very tender. The biggest improvement, though, was the consistency. I prefer my beef medium-rare, and last time I was here, almost everything they brought out was well-done. This time, every piece that made its way to my table was cooked exactly how I like it. I'm glad I was actually able to enjoy the meal this time!

I don't know if I've ever used the front door. Sinatra style music, intimate booths and tables, dark wood, beautiful bar, waitresses and staff who are friendly and efficient. You can actually have an intimate conversation. We usually get the dinner for 2 for $89.99. Choice of salmon, New York steak or prime rib. Comes with a glass of house wine, shrimp cocktail (spicy sauce), soup or salad, choice of green beans (house specialty) or brown beans, potato (mashed, fries, or baked) or pilaf and your entree. The horseradish is served with zip not a watered down version you get sometimes ask for au jus it's so good. The bus boys refill your water glasses and remove plates quickly. The wonderful waitresses check in "All good? Do you want another glass of...?" The owner will come by and ask you how's your dinner and chit chat. Old fashion proprietor hospitality that we don't see enough any more. The original owner, Richard S did this as well and I love that his grandson carries on the tradition. Sit at the bar, either before or afterwards, hopefully Leeann will be bartending and have a well made drink, watch TV (not blaring) and just relax. Seriously, love this place and it's been where our family has celebrated many family special days or just a good meal after a long week for over 50 years.

2.5ish review incoming. I have mixed feelings about this…read moreplace. With so many other dynamite restraunts in town, I am not sure Richard's has much to brag about (comparatively) these days. I understand and respect their history, but that is not an excuse for them to continue to live in the past. It is bad enough their location has turned undesirable over the years, so they need to continue to improve aspects of the business to keep people coming in. There was a security guard at the entrance (FYI the entrance is in the back, so upon entering you are immediately greeted by the restrooms and the doors that show off the kitchen work space. Long story short, it makes for an awkward and uncomfortable start to your experience for a first timer). Anyways, the security guard was in the same place when we arrived (looking at his phone) and in the same place when we left (still looking at his phone). If someone messed with my car, which was out of sight slightly around the corner of the building close to Belmont, would he have noticed or cared? This question is sure to be up there with the ol timeless chicken or the egg quandry and the if a tree fell in a forest paradox) Positives: Their meats were good (we tried the prime rib, of course, and a bacon wrapped filet). No complaints there. I should mention I took my love and my momma for her bday. My mom enjoyed herself well enough. The service was good. The waitress humored my (sometimes annoying) mom (lmao) and the hostess was also nice, checking on us during the meal even. She brought my mom some ice cream at the end and led us in singing happy birthday, which was sweet. The main fault: the sides. They were so mundane it almost made the rest of the meal seem overpriced and lackluster. Sides should be something local or at least prepared. Instead it was some slop from a can or a warmer filled with hot liquid broth. It was like cafeteria food or the heated up veggies one might get during a hospital stay. Completely unacceptable quality if you want to maintain the allure of a fancy restraunt serving 40+ dollar cuts of meat. Rice was mediocre, mashed potatoes were decent but again probably a cost cutting side. So all in all, the food wasn't something to brag about. The interior has some nice paintings of bare chested ladies. As a champion for women, it seemed a little extreme that in my sight i could see 6 titties, but as a man, excluding my champion for women title, I thought it was great. However, being with my mom and my woman made this dichotomy even more perplexing. The strangest part of all of this was when I went in the men's restroom there wasn't another topless woman painting. Instead it was some old dude. Wth? That's when I relaized it was like the rest of the experience here - unique, a bit outdated, and all over the place. Still enjoyable, but also pretty sad and confusing.

I was unsure how to rate this place overall, so I decided on a middle of the road 3 stars…read more $35 per person, ayce, plus tax and tip. Discount for cash and 4% charge for credit (there is several signs at the entrance). Does not include alcohol or desert items. For 2 people, each with a soda (free refills), $83 cash or $86 credit (not sure if that included the 4% charge). We arrived little after 5 on a Sat. Was immediately seated with no reservation. There was multiple laminated menus on the table. Looked like each table seated 6, each with a grill and overhead exhaust vent. I could not hear any exhaust vent fans. Noise level was normal for a restaurant this size and a conversation could easily be had with other people at the table. With 2 people, able to order 3 meats at a time. Meats are brought out promptly and soda was refilled frequently. The grill tops were replaced frequently during the meal. The bad. It gets SMOKEY!!!! Not sure what's wrong with their exhaust, but it does not seem to work very well. The floor gets greasy slippery (I was wearing non stick shoes and was able to easily slide on the floor). The overhead exhaust fan... grease constantly dripped from the vent on the grill. They are obviously were not cleaned before that dinner service... we left smelling like we had sat in a bbq smoker. Because of that I would not recommend wearing nice clothes to this place unless you want them to smell like bbq for the next while. The bulguli was amazing!! I would skip on the ny steak. The chicken was surprisingly good. If you have never cooked seafood on a grill like that, you may want to skip the squid and octopus. The pork belly was basically thin sliced bacon. If I returned, I would stick with beef bulguli, spicy pork bulguli, and brisket or spicy bbq chicken. The spicy was not that spicy. Maybe a 2 out of 10. Like jalapeño spicy. The food and service was excellent. The smoke... this makes me rethinking on returning...
