This is a hidden gem (?) at least to me, in downtown Fresno. I live 30 minutes away but was downtown for a play at the Saroyan Theater. This food truck is like a kitchen on wheels. I had the pulled pork sandwich with a side of yummy coleslaw. The sandwich came with several single serving size containers of bbq sauce. The pulled pork was very tender, moist and smoked deliciously. Soft hoagie roll. The bbq sauce was very flavorful and not spicy which is how I like it. I loved the coleslaw because it wasn't too mayonnaisey, more of a subtle vinegar flavor. My son ordered the brisket with collard greens which he says, you can't truly be a bbq restaurant without collard greens. He loved them and the brisket was tender and lean. His husband ordered a tri tip sandwich with the Mac n cheese along with a made to order Blackberry Lemonade. They both loved their meals. We all agreed we'd return for another meal. Well seasoned meats and tasty sides as usual, while I think the meats were more tender than my last visit. I ordered the Three's A Crowd with ribs, pulled pork, and brisket as the meat choices and macaroni and cheese and potato salad as my sides. I think coming for lunch rather than diner made a difference, as the meats were definitely more tender. We also tried the honey butter rolls this time, which were delicious and highly recommended. I've been coming here since they opened in fresno, the quality has gone down hill tremendously. Pricing has gone up, serving sizes gone down. I love brisket, the last 3 times, brisket was dried and probably days old. Brisket in suppose to be tender and juicy. This was not. Tri tip cut the wrong way, not even tender, consistently out of certain side dishes and act like they're sold out. Service is ok, food truck style, they had the indoors open for a little bit, not sure what's happened. We were craving barbecue and found this place on the way back from Shaver Lake. It was very good and smokey, living up to its name. They have an outdoor patio, with a few inside and a lot of TVs for sports viewing. We got the 3-rib plate and tri tip which both come with 2 sides, and the double or nothing plate with chicken thighs and brisket. We really enjoyed their sauce since it had a little spice to it. I travel for work and BBQ is one food i love. So when i saw this place that wad very close to my hotel I was stoked, so i walked over. Walking up you can smell the BBQ which was a great start, the music was 80-90's R&B which added to the experience. Ordering was easy, i ordered the Quad plate, I got beef links, Brisket, TriTip and Pork Ribs the two sides, Greens and Mac and Cheese. The meat was a hit and miss. The beef links where dry and flavorless (huge disappointment) the brisket was moist and tender, the Tri Tip was dry and tough, the pork ribs were seasoned well, and tender. The greens were excellent, tender with lots of smokey flavor, the Mac and Cheese was bland, the Mac was way over cooked and the cheese sauce really didn't have much flavor. Loved the cheese crust on top. Maybe i got them on them on the wrong night. Im willing to give them another try in my next business trip to Fresno. read more

The rolls are from a supermarket with a honey butter melted over the top. The music was so extremely loud that we had to yell across the table to visit with each other. I usually determine the quality of a BBQ spot based off how good their brisket is so by default I had to give their brisket sandwich a go. This sandwich transported me, it was as if I had just pulled up to a family BBQ and their grandma has been carefully tending the smoke pit. However, she offered to switch out our order and give me and my boyfriend their classic plates - free of charge. SO SWEET!!! We got 2 of their classic plates: Beef Brisket plate and their Beef Tri-Tip plate. For sides we got: mac-n-cheese, coleslaw, potato salad, and their bbq baked beans. This definitely is some of the best bbq I've had in Fresno. Both the tri-tip and the brisket were great! The brisket especially was incredibly tender and delicious. I would highly recommend getting the brisket! As for the sides, they were all good but their bbq baked beans were something else! They were sweet, smoky, and spicy. I think it's a great addition to the brewery district specially because there isn't many food options there. The seating area looked great, they had tvs on and lots of outdoor games. I ordered the two meat plate with pulled pork and tri tip. My sides were Mac and cheese and the baked beans. Honestly my favorite part of the whole plate was the baked beans. They were sweet with a little kick in the end. The pulled pork had some fatty pieces mixed in but nothing too much to complain about. The tri tip was good in flavor but I think I would order something else next time. The Mac and cheese wasn't my favorite but wasn't bad, I think I just expected more from it. Our first visit, we tried the ribs combo plate with collard greens and Mac and cheese. The ribs were good and the greens and Mac n cheese were ok. Our only complaint was the wait time but totally understood that they'd opened recently and had a crowd. Most recently, we came by on a Friday around 6:30 for ribs and pulled pork sandwich. We planned to walk over to Tioga to eat with a beer. When it was our turn to order, they were out of the ribs and pulled pork. And a few other items, too, I guess because my husband ordered the chicken sandwich - he never orders bbq chicken haha. The sandwiches come with side of potato salad or coke slaw (or you can upgrade to one of the other sides for a an extra charge). I didn't feel like eating meat so I ordered a small side of green beans and small side of collards. I wish I'd kept track of the wait time but it was at least 30 minutes, two people who ordered after us got their orders before us (my huge pet peeve even tho I tell myself there could be a perfectly good reason - except here, we just ordered a chicken sandwich and some sides. Aren't they cooked already?). My husband finally asked what was up and the worker said they were waiting on my green beans, that I'd ordered the last of the fresh veggies. Huh? They were so good and you didn't even need the bbq sauce. The tri-tip and chicken and Mac and cheese were also good but if you are eating outside the Mac and cheese will get cold within one minute so it would be better to eat inside. The ribs & collard greens were amazing!! I would go back for those 2 things! The chicken was very tender, juicy and flavorable! Unfortunately the potato salad definitely tasted store bought and seasoned up a bit, some may enjoy that but not for me.
