I got the brigadeiro's and chicken coxinha after a recommendation from the cashier. I've gone on a weekday in the middle of the day and on a weekend. So so good! I had been craving a crispy Brazilian pastel ever since my trip to Rio ten years ago. I was pleasantly surprised to find a place in CLT that had it. And I'm happy to say the pastel frango caturpiry was delicious! The crust was crunchy with a tasty shredded chicken and cheese filling. I also ordered a slice of bolo recheado. I went here while on a trip and I've been thinking about it ever since. I had never had Brazilian food before and this was SO so yummy!! The owners and other employees there were the most kind people too- which made the experience even better!! There were several tables to sit at, nice and clean, beautiful pictures of Brazil on the walls. I don't know what I ate but it was amazing. They have a pastry case you can choose food items from, they also sell delicious and beautiful looking cakes. I am absolutely in love! Just walking in and seeing the condiments on the table and all the stuff I need to eat my treats and no need to ask for anything from condiments to plates and forks they have it all on the table ready to go !! We consider this a good find for us. Not certain just what Brazilian Eats (other than steaks and meats) and Treats were, we walked in. A bit different of a business, but a welcome entry into the world of sameness. This is basically a bakery that serves sandwiches and some unusual pasty pies made with meats and cheeses. No menu posted but there are picture of their offerings. You "could" make a lunch out of it. However, they are certainly more of a bakery and a good one at that. Cakes, cupcakes, mouses, tortas and the prettiest large cake-like shaped flan I have seen, with the caramel melted over it as it sits in a pool of the caramel. Ohhhhhhh! The array of savories was excellent and worth coming back to try. We left with a key lime mouse, which was nothing less than spectacularly wonderful, and a coconut-cheese cupcake which was dense and delicious. They have some beverages and regular brewed coffee. Am guessing that maybe tea is also available. Give this little gem of a bakery a try. You might well see us there with you. read more

Just wanted to post how wonderful Brazilian Eats & Treats in Ballantyne is if you haven't checked it out yet. Their dinner menu is a bit sparce, as they mainly focus on lunch. However, 2 of us got the steak on Brazilian bread sandwich and it was phenomenal! Plus, take a look at all these baked goods ! The owners are husband (from here) and wife (from Brazil). Many of their ingredients and even their kitchen equipment comes from Brazil. The owners are very proud of their business and gave us excellent service. They even gave us a free sample to share while we waited on our meals. The yucca fries were fantastic ! Soft on the inside and perfectly crisp on the outside. There's so much to select from, you don't even know where to start ! I took a bunch of desserts home to try. Definitely get their cookies with dulce de leche inside. They remind me of Peruvian alfajores if you know what those are.... but these are even better ! You MUST get them !!! Steak sandwich with fries was about $13. A slice of cake is $6 and HUGE. Not kidding when I tell you that you could get 4 servings out of one slice. They have cake cups also, which are a more portable version of the slices. I'm excited to try one dessert that is like a huge cake pop with dulce de leche inside covered in chocolate. This place is extremely casual. There are plastic utensils and paper plates on the table to eat from. They have 3 fresh fruit juices : passion fruit, guava, and cashew fruit juice. My favorite was the cashew fruit juice. Saw this place for the first time about two months ago, today we decided to go in and get some pastry and dessert. The first impression is the place clean and organize, it is also better than I expected inside. The display case are full good fresh goodies, being that I am not familiar with Brazilian food, the staff walked around and tells me about what is in each items. I mean talking about customer service, it is one of best and they care for their customers. I ended up with couple of their items, they are tasted fresh and tasty. The cheese bread was great if you really like cheese. I enjoyed their passion fruit drink, it tasted fresh and not much sugar. Best of all the price is affordable, considering this is in the Ballantyne area. I will recommend this to anyone want some treats!! Exactly what Ballantyne needed!!! To begin, for those of you who have never been to a Brazilian (or Portuguese) cafe let me explain to you that it's so much more than just a bakery. Not only did they have amazing sweets, pastries and cakes. They also have breakfast and lunch snack like items such as sandwiches, french fries, fresh juices, delicious fried items such as a Coxinha. Coxinhas are a delicious fried dough snack with chicken and cheese in it. Must have! Super authentic. Please do not be intimated by the large selections or unfamiliar items. Marcia and her family will treat you with such kindness, help you try different cakes, and help with your selections. Everyone here is so nice! Do not be afraid to ask questions! For example My husband who is Portuguese loves the mousse de ananas which is essentially a delicious pineapple mouse! This is a great place to try new comfort treats and have an excellent snack, lunch, or breakfast. I will follow up to this post with more selections and photos. It doesn't pop from staring at the outside but the flavor inside surely does. The Pastries are very authentic (we spent the last 6 months in São Paulo) and the staff all speaks Portuguese. Several Brazilians came and went picking up pre-ordered cakes, sandwiches, and a variety of offerings. We will surely be pre-ordering (all they need is 24 hours notice) Brigadeiro for Carnivale which costs $30, a reasonable price after all the inflation the past two years and comparable with other cities including Miami. read more

A different type of bakery. Elegant yet friendly. The Coxinha fried in dough was lovely. Like a big croquette. Real shredded fresh chicken with delicate flavors.
