Bavarian cream crepe

It's a small cafe in Matthews, NC just outside of Charlotte off of Independence Blvd. It's not your formal sit down restaurant; you order and pay at the counter then they bring the food to you. The decor is very outdated but everything was clean. The menu was simple which I love. They offer sweet and savory crepes. Order: Bavarian Cream Crepe It's filled with a Bavarian cream, topped with strawberries, strawberry/chocolate drizzle and whipped cream; but I had my drizzle on the side. The taste was wonderful, the cream wasn't too sweet and the strawberries were fresh. I think the drizzle would have been too sweet on top so it was a good idea to have it on the side to dip instead (for extra sweetness if I wanted). I look forward to returning to try the other crepes. Happy eating yelpers.

Caramel Apple Pie Crepe & roasted s'mores latte

Me and one of my daughters dropped by to see what RC had on their menu for fall. And as always, we were not disappointed, not in the least. We both ordered the Philly Cheese Steak crepe and split it, and then we ordered the apple pie crepe and split it, too. The icing on the cake was the roasted s'mores lattes they brought to our table, complete with roasted marshmallows on a skewer! The restaurant is always clean, and the staff is always so extra friendly and helpful if you need assistance with deciding on one of the gazillion amazing items off their menu. I hear that they will have pumpkin spice crepes next, so we may need to bring the whole family right back for a treat!

First time to this cafe that mainly serves crepes of savory and sweets. It's a semi open kitchen. Customers can see the whole procedure of the making of crepes. They make our order only when we were ready. Everything looks good and tastes good. The prices are reasonable and acceptable.

Was getting g my hair done at salon 51 and was starving! My fabulous hairdresser said they the crepe place next door delivers so I had to try it! I got an avocado Blt crepe and I was so good! The portion was huge. It was so easy to place an online order. I will order again

My third time visiting this location and DELICIOUS every single time! This time came on a Sunday around 12pm and was surpringly not full. No line to order and plenty of table options to choose from. This place is a bit small on the inside. Does have a few tables to choose from but all super close to one another but it's no biggie. They do have a few outside tables on their patio. The owner is always super friendly, pleasant and appreciative that you have decided to dine into her restaurant. I ordered the Chipotle chicken crepe with a Cortado and OMG *Chefs Kiss" it was definitely the right brunch option for me and very flavorful. Im definitely ordering this again whenever I decide to go back there and eat. The cortado is strong just how I like it. I added some vanilla to it and it was not overly sweet at all. They have a variety of sweet crepes , lunch and brunch crepes to choose from. The crepes are huge and will definitely fill you up. Definitely recommend you trying this spot out if you're ever in the area.

I love this spot! it's a contemporary café that offers different types of coffee and sweet and savory crêpes. I had the campfire marshmallow latte which was full of flavor. and I made my own crêpe with meat fried egg and cheese. I feel like if I lived in North Carolina I would be here every weekend for sure!

It has been years since I visited this place, what has changed? I will say nothing, it is still a great place to get crepes. I love my Cordon Bleu crepes, it was crispy and the honey mustard just goes perfectly with it. The service was excellent, the owner has a passion about the place and takes great care of us. The seating area are nice and clean, I just think it will benefit if they have better lighting.

Sweet folks, fresh great food and coffee. Personable-euro-cafe-with-friendly-owner-who picks-a-couple-things-they-do-very-well type of place.

my "regular style" strawberry Build Your Own Dessert Crepe
Sammi M.

I had a really disappointing experience my first time here-- they gave me a RAW CREPE! We ordered ahead online and when we got there ~15mins later they were quite busy and hadn't started our order. Also the online system was a bit weird to us, so they wanted to ask us some clarifying questions about our food. The lady also asked me if I wanted my crepe "crispy or regular style" and then seemed ticked off that I didn't know what that meant, even though I didn't see that option anywhere online or on the menu. I chose regular, with just strawberries, whipped cream, powdered sugar and butter. We waited a few minutes in the busy area, trying very hard to make ourselves out of the way, but failing. it's just so small in the dining area. That's also why we ordered ahead. When we got our food my crepe was completely RAW!! Also they forgot the powdered sugar and butter (on my VERY SIMPLE order). If I didn't know any better I'd think they had something against me...?? and the whipped cream of course melted immediately because it's not stabilized. That's actually pretty amateur for a place that only sells crepes. Will not be returning.

Bananas foster crepe with ice cream

Amazing and so friendly! We have wanted to try it here for quite some time. Down in Matthews today, and made sure to stop in. The owner was SO friendly. My husband tried the Hamster and I went with the bananas foster. Each were equally delicious. They have sauces you can use for your savory crepes and both garlic sauces were delicious. We both had coffee as well, he just regular and I had the pumpkin Spice Latte...delicious! We will def be back in, it is totally worth the drive from Davidson.

Crepes are great. They changed gloves and used clean equipment for GF crepes. Regular crepe was light and fluffy. Lots of options.

I'm a sucker for crepes. There were about 10 tables inside, so it isn't a large place, but they weren't very busy so we sat right down. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. The people there were very nice, but the food took foreverrrrr to come out. It was delicious and worth the wait, but I wouldn't recommend if you're starving or in a hurry.

You can see your crepes being made behind the counter. Since we went on a busy weekend morning, it took a little while for our food to come out. However, it was worth the wait. I preferred the smores creep to the vegetarian one. My main concern with the vegetarian one was that there was an overwhelming amount of canned mushrooms. I assumed that the main ingredients would be fresh, and was a little disappointed by that. However, the crepe itself was light and perfectly made. Also, my desert crepe was simply sumptuous. The owners seemed really kind and dedicated to providing a wonderful experience to their guests. Overall, I'd definitely stop in again!

If you end up having such a great time that you hang late, they don't rush you out or blast "Closing Time" to make things awkward. They're chill and let you finish up at your own pace. The food trucks are hit or miss--sometimes absolutely amazing, sometimes not great--but there's always something happening. There are five businesses inside, so it never feels boring. They host comedy nights, live bands, karaoke, Pokémon events, and board game days/nights, which gives it a cool community vibe. My singular complaint would be when the daylight changes to evening, these awful too-white bright lights come on that make you feel like you need sunglasses and ruin the cozy vibe. They did add some warmer lights around the garage door, but I wish they would change the color of those really bright ones that come on at night. Overall, it's a fun, relaxed place to hang out.

However, if you need to eat gluten-free due to a medical condition like Celiac disease, please be very, very cautious. Although this establishment claims to offer gluten-free options, there seems to be a concerning lack of understanding of what "gluten-free" actually requires. I asked detailed questions before ordering and was assured that my selection was safe. After the food arrived--and after I had already started eating--I was then informed that while the crepe itself was gluten-free, the filling was not. That kind of distinction should be clearly communicated upfront, especially when a customer specifically asks about gluten-free options. Unfortunately, the same situation happened with my daughter, who also has celiac. To make matters worse, we were charged for both the incorrect meals and the replacements. In hindsight, I should have asked for a manager, but we were there to visit with a friend and I didn't want to make a scene. Our total for three people ended up being over $80 with the tip I still left. I understand that eating out always carries risk when you have dietary restrictions, and I ALWAYS try to approach it with patience and kindness. We were traveling, so we didn't have much choice. But if a restaurant says they offer gluten-free items, there needs to be a basic understanding (by the wait staff AND the kitchen cooks) of ingredients and clear communication. What should have been a fun outing turned into a weekend of being very sick. Just something to be aware of if you have to eat gluten-free for health reasons - this is probably not the spot for you.
