It's sad to say, but Chima has gone down hill significantly over the years. I haven't been here in over 7 years so I'm sure a lot has changed. I just remember when this was considered "fine-ish dining". Or I don't know maybe it wasn't and I just thought that it was in my youth. Came here to celebrate someone's birthday and was underwhelmed. The hostess was not friendly. The restaurant itself was clean but you could see signs that a renovation was much needed, there were cracks in the walls and just old carpet and furniture. Our server was nice and some of the food we had was tasty. There were several bites of meat that were not good. They were either too salty or had zero flavor at all or were dry. The sides they brought out were inedible to me. There was such inconsistency with the food items. The salad bar was okay. Honestly, my salad was probably the best part of the meal. The gentlemen bringing the meat around came every 3 seconds in rapid succession. It was almost overwhelming. But then there were items we had to ask for because some things never made it over to us. It was just odd. I most likely will not return to Chima, but I'm glad I had one last hoorah.

Food Service Ambiance I highly recommend, perfect for a date night! Service was excellent and enjoyed an amazing Brazilian cocktail. The meats are delectable and there are varieties of options at the buffet.

Commence food coma. This is my third Brazilian steakhouse, and first time at Chima. The dark colors and dimmed lights set the night with good ambiance and laughs. The service was spot on with the amount of meats coming around. Don't sleep on the pineapple! Chima was delicious, but beware of the food coma!

Avoid! - After a week, we found the Charlotte Chima Steakhouse Booked. We visited a Chima Steakhouse location in Orlando and were truly blown away at the quality and tremendous service. We were determined to make it in and made our Saturday 8 PM Reservation nearly 1 week prior. We arrived on time and found the scene violent and simply out of control. Those seeking to Dine at this restaurant were an eclectic bunch of unsophisticated and enthusiastic opportunists. Upon arrival, we checked in and quickly determined we would not be seated. You can say the restaurant was overbooked, but the reality is that the restaurant staff truly underestimated the determination of the crowd. Patrons arrived, paid their entry fee, and were determined to get what they paid for. Our first assessment was that the salad bar had been ravaged and was not being repleted. I suspect the gauchos were overwhelmed by the hungry diners and simply fled. Not a gaucho could be seen on site. This location was utterly overwhelmed with hungry maniacs. The pimp, wearing the red cowboy hat, yelling at the poor hostess was the straw that broke the camel's back. We decided to retreat gracefully. The wounded hostess assured us we would not be charged the $50.00 USD Credit Card Booking fee. The madness spilled out into the street as we attempted to flee the location. Never again! Egregious!

Chima is an absolute delight and im not even a big fan of grilled meats! The service is always top notch! The salad bar has something to satisfy everyone and EVERYTHING to satisfy me. This seems to be a celebration spot as someone is always celebrating a birthday or graduation but honestly it's the perfect date night spot for me! The lamb chops are delightful and the shrimp is hard to beat. A go to whenever one is in the area!

I was really disappointed by the Charlotte Chima's. I've been to the one in Tyson's corner in the past and found it really well run, great service, and delicious food. The Charlotte one however is the opposite. This location suffers greatly from a management perspective. They really overbook reservations - we had a reservation for six and didn't get seated til seven. And we weren't the only ones this happened to. There was a line up the stairs at one point of people waiting for their tables for a long long time when they also had reservations. While the servers and bartenders were nice, service was extremely slow as they were severely understaffed. Not the servers fault, again it's managements problem, but it didn't make for a pleasant dining experience. One server shouldn't have to cover dozens of tables and management should have planned the work schedule better. And lastly, the food was severely overcooked and some of it just plain tasteless. It was also so loud in this restaurant. This Charlotte location is not worth going to - pick somewhere else for your dinner. If you're ever in Tyson's Corner, I'd recommend that location, but def skip this location.

Ask the Community - Chima Steakhouse

It's my birthday and I want to wear a birthday tee shirt and nice jeans is this allowed?

Yes , as long as the jeans are not distressed

Are they open for lunch on Saturdays at the Charlotte location? If so, what is the price? I'm finding conflicting information.

Too many other nice places in the city for lunch

Do you have valet parking?

No they do not. They appear as if they do instead they charge a fee.

How far in advance should I make a reservation?

On weekends I recommend 2 weeks. On weekdays not necessary

Is there valet parking available? If not, what are the parking options?

Hi Joanna, thanks for reaching out to us. We no longer offer valet, but there are parking lot buildings around the area that you can use.

Is the unlimited salad bar currently open during this time?

Hi Rue, thanks for reaching out to us with your question. Our gourmet salad bar is open and we are providing gloves and hand sanitizers to our clients.

How much is the valet parking?

Hi Marshall, thanks for reaching out to us. We offer complimentary valet to our guests. Monday-Friday from 6-10pm, Saturday 5-10pm and Sunday 4-10pm.

Does this place accommodate one person dining? Is there a bar to sit at? What is the best time for a single person to come to avoid the crowds?

There is a bar area upstairs with seating but I do not believe you can get the rodizio menu. There may be a fixed menu for the bar area. The lower area with the salad bar and rodizio do have small tables for two that are a good size for one person.

Can I just eat off the salad bar for a reduced price?

Yes. Look online they probably have info.

What can I expect to pay for 2 on a normal night? Just don't want to be in shock when I get there .

It is $55 per person without drinks. Sign up for their emails and you'll get a coupon. It is so good! Enjoy

One single person bathroom per gender. Food- hardly came our way, we had to ask several times if there was more meat coming. Shrimp came out several times to other tables but not to ours. We had to finally ask if we can have some. We were a table of four and kept getting the scraps - not enough for a table if we all said yes to the option. (Example chicken wings came by- only two wings available on the stick...) One time the meat came by with a long hair / fuzz attached to the meat and with seasonings... Salad bar - the lettuce and basic salad options were gone both times I went up to grab some. Drink service/ water refills were lacking. Had to ask repeatedly. Overall service - not at all the usual friendliness you can expect from a Brazilian establishment. Servers seemed unmotivated - just a sad vibe especially for Valentines weekend. Price- none on the menu. Turned out our "valentines special" rodizio was 60/adult. When I asked what that included - I was told it is because they offered shrimp and veal tonight... Way too expensive for the service and the ambiance. A disappointing birthday dinner. We don't plan to return.

Service was okay! Not much variety for someone who doesn't eat much meat. No seafood variety.read more

When I went to redeem my Goodiebag offer the guy working the counter was amazing. I got there very close to closing and he was so sweet. He went into the counter and filled our bag was savory treats. There was around 7/8 items in the bag. Everything he put in the bag was a surprise to us. We noticed a few of the names but they looked alike in the bag. Now we had 2 with hamburger meat/ground beef. They were our favorites. One had ham and cheese and one had corn and cheese. Both were delicious. Small round cheese breads were very chewy. Our least favorite was the hot dog but it wasn't terrible. We opted to get a sweet treat also and loved it also. It was a milk and coconut twisted bread. All in all I was super impressed with what we got and all the delicious flavors. We split the goodie bag items between 3 people and were very satisfied. Romeo and Juliet Brazilian Cafe 1605 Galleria Blvd Ste 105 Charlotte, NC 28270 (Review 16 in 2024 and 816 overall)

I do wish that all counter staff could communicate in English as I ended up a few times with things I would not have ordered and it was due to miscommunication and again the price is expensive and worth it when on point. I do recommend this spot as there are many reasons to come just make sure you know what you are getting and see about samples maybe before. Cute space tons of parking and easy to access.

This review is for they CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST that's done on Sundays…read more It is a fairly new thing they are trying and it is a great idea. It is by weight so you serve yourself and then weight the plate to gluons out how much to pay. This is very common in Brazil and I was very excited to come and experience it. We drove there and arrived around 11:30. The Instagram page said the breakfast goes from 8am - 1 pm. We arrived at 1130, there was nearly no food left and whatever that was left was cold. There's about an hour and a half left on the experience and I could not even get a second plate cause not even that they were replenishing. We told the manager lady that came by the table that we were kind of upset that with plenty of time the breakfast was in such poor shape. We ate cold food. No eggs were left, no bread at all.... And the warm food was in crock pots, even with that. They turned off the crock pots... they were already off when we arrived... at 11:30? For a breakfast experience that is over at 1pm.... I can understand that this kind of experience can be a gamble and the restaurant owner can lose a lot of money in food waste. But there was ways, maybe leaving the table open passing lunch for those who wake up late like me. Sunday is a day a lot of people go to church. At 1205 while we were still possibly trying to take advantage of the breakfast that is advertised to be over at 1pm, they started to break down. So we who were still there couple not have any more coffe of any of the food we came to eat anymore, and anyone that could come in last minute for the experience now will not be able to. If it was someone like me who lives half hour away, get here at noon to have the breakfast I would be very angry to drive and get here on time and see them breaking it down. I told my concerns to the staff and hope it will assist to improve the experience for their guests because this has a lot of potential, but it is not being executed.

I had a pineapple caipirinha. It contained fresh pineapple and was quite tasty. For the appetizer, we tried the chicken coxinhas, which is apparently a must have Brazilian street food. I didn't much care for them, but I don't think these were bad ones. I suspect that I just don't care for the mix of flavors and textures. I'll try the beef ones next time. For dinner, we shared the steak and fries platter and it was delicious. The flavors showcased the steak- no marinade, no sauce, just good steak, decent fries, and a cheese sauce. Between this and side salads, we were well-fed and quite satisfied. Our server was appropriately attentive and offered recommendations. I would recommend this spot for a lowkey, no frills, casual night out where good grub the main thing you're looking for.
