The weather is warming up and the pools are opening, which means waxing. I haven't been to this location in a couple years, and no where since February 2020 (pre-pandemic). Other waxing salons are $20+ more for the same service and same results, so why go anywhere else? Fernanda took great care, maintained pleasant conversation throughout and kept reminding me to breathe. My service was blocked for 30mins but I was out in under 20. I really appreciate the efficiency and professionalism. The establishment is just as clean as I've experienced in past visits. So, I called the day before I came and asked if they took walk ins and was told they do but they suggested an appointment so I wouldn't be waiting for a long time because they were busy. I opted not to do an appointment because I was coming from another appointment I wasn't sure when it would be done. At this current moment I am at the Brazilian Wax by Andreia at this location and I got here around 11:15am it's currently 11:40am. There is no one (customers) in this lobby and the lady at the front desk is on her cell phone. I understand the ability to make an appointment but if you take walk ins I'm confused why you would have someone waiting. I recently moved into the area so needed to find another waxing spot and I'm so glad I found this place! It's down the street from my house so super convenient. I gave them 5 stars because of the following: 1. Location: convenient, lots of parking. 2. Ease of appointments: I just called the front desk and was able to make a last minute appt to go. They also have an online website that you can make your own appt with whichever staff member you would like. Pretty easy! 3. Staff: the minute you walk into the salon, there is a staff member that greets you right away. You will then sign in and wait for your appt time. They also have complimentary drink while you wait. Staff is friendly and patient. My waxing esthetician was Shadea. She was fast, friendly, and most importantly experienced. She had everything set up before my appt and was ready to go. I would definitely recommend her for all waxing needs. 4. Setting: the salon is clean, but small. The waxing room is efficient for the purpose. You will notice a painted mural in every waxing room as well as the front desk waiting area. It is a bit old looking since the salon has been there for 17 years, but they are clean. Everyone had a mask on and everything was disposable. 5. Price: the price is reasonable at $35 per Brazilian wax. My last place was $38 so this place is cheap compared to what I'm used to. This salon is right off of Roswell and Powers Ferry Road at the corner of a shopping center. Upon walking in it is a very comfortable professional setting with a keurig and or tea maker. They have several couches and a leather chair available. It is upscale and very clean looking. The receptionist is friendly and with a welcoming smile and will greet you and ask you to sign in. This is my second visit and I have seen Fernanda on both occasions for eyebrows. She has been on point pun intended! I have pretty thick eyebrows and typically people tend to want to make them look like a little line when I just want them cleaned and shaped or the other issue is I have sensitive skin and they burn me!!!! I called to ask if they were open and to book an appointment. they were open and I explained what I needed to do the lady agreed and hanged up not asking for my info for my bookings . so I went along online and book an appointment just incase for a 12:30pm after a while they call me and tell me that they switched my appointment to 1:30pm, not understanding why they did that . I call back to confirm I she didnt double book me,she tells me to wait to check on her side . It took me a while to get myself up to write this review. Why? Because getting yourself waxed is not fun! There is nothing warm & fuzzy about it. I don't have much to compare it to, the whole experience is painful! So, I have to make sure to remind myself to go back to how I felt the service was, the value, and the overall ambiance. So, you get there, they ask if you have a preferred person. Nah, they're all gonna cause me pain, gimme who you got. Each time, I ended up with Lucy - gimme the works, Luce, full body! If I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna do it! Takes you into a room, tells you to strip down completely , be back shortly. I swear, I don't know how they do it. Your significant other, doctor, even YOU don't get to see your body up close and personal like these people do. Like others have said, they don't use strips, they just lay on hot wax, let it harden, then let it RIP. They will apply pressure to the injured spot for a few moments after they are done and you honestly don't even recall that they hurt you a mere 5 seconds previous. The walls are thin. You can hear other folks whining, crying, talking about a friend who tried to give herself a wax that failed big time and is too embarassed to come back... After going through it all, you almost feel as if someone should have a room where they give you a hug or something. The full body is $70. That includes legs, arms, special parts (front & back). So, I ventured out here when I found out that this place was open. I just had to get out.... I had the worst cabin fever. Anyway I decided to go with the full on Brazilian. The room itself where is done is plain, it had the raised mat or table where all the ripping takes place, a big chair, and their supply table. The lady that did me let me in and let me get stripped form the waist down... they didn't have the little cotton bikini wax undies that I am used to when I get a Brazilian, which I thought was odd, but whatever. The lady came in and really went to business, she applied the wax without any strips or anything and let it harden and just went on a ripping spree. Ohh man!! That was painful, but the pain just last a few seconds. I just wish I had take a couple of ibuprofen. She was quick and efficient throughout the ordeal. If she knew you were in pain she would stop for a second and apologize and just continue... rather comical when looking back since I was paying her to do this for me. Either way, this lady was speedy and professional throughout, she even went over with tweezers on parts where the wax missed. Overall, I was very happy with the results and with the price $35 plus tip is not bad as I have paid wayyy more for something like this and it had taken twice the time. I really, really, really hate to have to do this - but . . . The last two times I've been here - service has been really awful. Also - this review - and the one prior - is actually for the 1230 Powers Ferry location. Last month, the young lady who serviced me - used strips to do my under arms. Even though I told her I had sensitive skin. And even though I told her that none of my previous techs had ever used strips. When she was finished - I was in pain - and I thought it extremely odd that she rushed out of the room - but since it was my first time with this tech - I wasn't sure if this was just her regular personality or what. When I got home and looked in the mirror - my arm pits were red and raw in places where my actual skin had been ripped off! I could only assume this was because of the strips - as I had been visiting the salon for over a year and this has never happened before. After about 6 weeks - I went back - had my underarms done again - and this time - there was very little pain - but the area wasn't smooth. It was very bumpy and dark - as though I'd shaved. And a few days later - I had a bunch of ingrown hairs. But here's why they actually get the one-star. I called the salon - and asked that Andreia give me a call. And I sent 2 separate emails space about two weeks apart. It's been right at 8 weeks now - and I haven't heard a word - which makes me believe Andreia doesn't really care about her customers. The only nice thing I can say is that the place looks really lovely since the re-model. It's very nice and upscale looking now. I guess I'll be heading to Sweet Samba from here on out. read more

The fact that it costs about half as much as most places makes it even better. Having just moved to GA, I thought I'd give this place a try. Walk-in's are welcome, I was happy to hear that as I am always unpredictable. I was immediately helped and my wax lady was nice but a bit reserved. I have had Brazilian wax before so I knew pretty much what to expect, but for any new client, I think it would be nice if the staff was more friendly or at least fake a smile ..hence make the client who is most likely scared feel much better and at ease. The process was relatively fast, 15 mins tops. The wax, I forgot to ask if they use beeswax? but it seemed quite good quality. Pain level was minimal, for first timers it wouldn't be the case. Overall, I'd definitely come back just because it's a fast in and out and my time is precious!! Also it's not even expensive. It's close from my home. Can't complain. I Love Lucy! I never thought I'd allow a total stranger to be all up in my privates without there being some medical reason. Seriously. I decided to do this last minute- and was second-guessing myself the whole time. The walk seemed awfully long as I approached the door. All I could think of was the P A I N I would be in! The receptionist was friendly, and she quickly introduced me to Ms. Lucy, my tech. Lucy was super nice, asked me if it was my 1st time, and asked what I thought about the potential pain. As she poured the hot wax onto my nether region (which wasn't so hot), I panicked and actually tried to cancel on her. (Sorry, Lucy! ) I asked her to test-strip a little area- and she did. Ouch. The pain was tolerable for me, and so we continued. Ouch. She warned me before she took off each strip and told me to take a deep breath as she did it. Ow!!! Then you're asked to lay on your tummy and if you've got a healthy backside, as I do- you'll definitely be holding your bum so she can work that "baby's booty" magic on ya. I was very nervous because my first few experiences years ago were not good - a lot of pain, sessions that took about 45 mins. Sylvania was excellent - fast, thorough and friendly. I have been going to Andreia for nearly five years, when she had a little wax studio set up in her husband's printing office building. Now she has finally opened up in Buckhead! No more driving over half an hour for my wax. I go every four weeks consistently, and enjoy how friendly everyone, especially Andreia. The first time I went, it was because I saw an ad, and called to find out what the 'catch' had to be. Why so cheap? She laughs and says she does not understand why Americans sometimes pay so much for wax. The women are very thorough. I am not picky about who I see, because they are all fairly consistent. There have been a couple of times a waxer has not done well, and I just simply bring it up to Andreia. I've been getting waxed for years. I've been waxed across the country...across the globe and nothing has ever compared or even come close to Andreia's. They have the lowest prices, they are the quickest, the least painful and you will leave the smoothest. I always get a Brazilian from Sylvana - she is the best you will find...ever. I swear by her and I probably miss her more than my family whenever living outside of Georgia. She is worth the extra drive even if you live closer to other locations (as I do).
