I just moved to the neighborhood and did a lot of research to find a new waxing spot. Well, I'm glad this is the place I found. I was able to book my session easily online. First time I booked, April needed to cancel. Fortunately I was given enough notice. Second time I booked, I arrived on time and April was waited and greeting me! The spot is small and in a business building, but once you walk into her space, you forget where it actually is. April was a dream. I felt very comfortable with her and felt little to no pain. I was escaping mid-winter Chicago for a few days last week, and of course wanted to sneak in a waxing visit before packing my bikini. Thankfully I managed to get an appointment after work at Brazilian Waxing Co. for leg waxing and the eponymous service. *ahem* I was a little bit worried about parking, but even in rush hour found a spot right away just around the block. The studio feels clean, calming, and comfortable. Background music was great -- almost as though April had turned my late 90s CD collection into the playlist of the hour, which I loved, because let's face it those flute-rainstick compilation albums don't actually make waxing relaxing ... so at least you should have some good grooves to take your mind off the process! April is warm and friendly (wonderful for a first-time client like me) and *meticulous*! Over ten days later and I'd still feel totally comfortable poolside. I can see why she maintained such a following from her previous location at Detail Oriented. During the waxing she talked through the different skin care products she was using and general techniques / lifestyle suggestions for overall skin health -- definitely professional recommendations rather than a sales pitches, which I really appreciated. Overall, I'm thrilled to have found such a down to earth, professional esthetician as my new go-to .. and knowing how hard it is to find this sort of service, I definitely had to share. read more

April has been waxing me and some friends of mine since before she opened her own place and I highly recommend her! It's hard to find waxing places that are so comfortable and professional without making the experience weird! I really never liked getting waxed at all, but she totally turned that around for me! She also waxes my (male) partner occasionally, without raising an eyebrow. So many places are so discriminatory against anyone who isn't a cis female! I highly recommend Brazilian Waxing Co for ALL genders as she is very male- and lgbtq-friendly which is huge and much-needed. I appreciate the fact that she accommodates your level of modesty without forcing anything. It's just very nice to have a body-positive environment when you're exposing your junk to a stranger!! This review is long overdue. April does a fabulous job at brazilians and manzillians. Yes, manzillians. I'm picky with my waxers for obvious reasons, and April was very welcoming, professional, and thorough. She uses a special wax and that combined with her technique makes for a as-gentle-as-possible waxing experience. I don't go in as often because it seems the quality of the wax/technique has slowed the regrowth drastically. Her work area is very clean and she does not double-dip. Prices are fair and her attitude is fabulous. I've recommended her to my man friends, and one of the takers said that April made him feel very at ease, and that he loved the results. There are very few people who do manzillians in Chicago, and April does a great job. April is so good at what she does she also brazilians for women who are pregnant. Just sayin'. I started going to April in October 2017 and she is great! I had never done waxing before (except the occasional eyebrows), but she is so friendly during appointments and it was very comfortable and not at all awkward. Just finished my first Brazilian with April. I was extremely nervous and prepared for extreme pain. While the process certainly wasn't pain-free, April made sure I was comfortable and distracted. She tried several different kinds of wax, both hard and soft, on me and allowed me to choose which one was working best in terms of hair removal and pain levels. I love coming to April to get my Brazilian waxes, by far she gives the best waxes I have ever received. She is cautious and diligent and makes sure that your wax is absolutely perfect. They aren't painless, but April's patience and compassion make it much better. The wax she uses is high end and more closely tailored to the part of your body receiving the wax, to make the hair come up more easily and less painfully.
