This Urgent Care office is the best kept secret in Brea, I'm almost reluctant to share it but the staff deserves a great review so I will sacrifice Erick, at the front desk, Ryan, who ushered me back to my room and took my vitals and summary were all extremely friendly and helpful. The waiting room was clean and quiet and offers a coffee bar and candy. Front staff was being extra attentive to germs that were walking in the door and disinfecting when he thought necessary. I don't think I've ever seen front desk staff be this proactive. Dr. Theresa Escalante took extra time and care into helping me with my problem and was quick to answer my questions and concerns. Came here on a Sunday due to having strep throat This place is very nice inside. Upon walking in I was quite impressed. Richly decorated and very clean. They even have a coffee bar with cold water! There are also tv's in every room to keep you occupied while you wait as well. Staff is friendly as well. Zero star for the PCR covid test. Although the line was moving quite quickly. But we still have not received the results for more than one week. There is no where we can check. I went in seeking medical attention for ear pain. I was warmly greeted by Erik at the front desk. He was extremely courteous and professional. I was taken back into a room by Frank who took my vitals and got me ready for the doctor. Frank was professional and has a calming manner and positive attitude. I was treated by Dr Pravin Shaw. He was very thorough and professional. Diagnosed me with an inner ear infection and gave me a prescription to take to my pharmacy. He answered my questions and didn't rush me through the exam. The entire office is extremely clean, neat and has a professional environment. The entire experience was positive from start to finish. Nice visit. Wait time was a little long especially since I was there for my 3 yr old but the service was great. The bathroom there is used for drug testing so they can shut the water off and then forget to turn it back on. The two times I used the bathroom there was urine in the toilet and the flush had to be turned back on so it could go down. The TV didn't work either in the exam room so we got a little antsy. All in all though, the staff makes up for this. Check in was quick and efficient. The back office staff was kind and quick. Room was clean. The front lobby has cold bottled water and candy. The staff is great, the doctor was charismatic and personable. I went in for what I thought was an ear infection. The Doc looked at it for 15 seconds and said it was a pimple and that I'd be fine. 24 hours later i had a full outbreak of hives. I went to a dermatologist who diagnost it as Shingles, and its all over my face, left ear and eye. Its very severe now, and I just wonder if I could have avoided some of this intense pain if the doctor here had taken some more time to look at my problem. read more

I tripped and hurt my foot. There was a lot of pain. We were getting ready to go on vacation, so I went to Urgent Care, in Brea. Everyone was very sweet and compassionate. The nurse practitioner examined my foot. She ordered an x-ray. Sent me home with a short shoe boot. She called me later to say they thought it was a sprain. Not broken. She said if there was a small fracture, it was not seen. She said that If I kept experiencing pain and swelling, to go to the doctor for further diagnosis. We left for one week on vacation. Every time I wore the shoe they had given me, the pain became intolerable. When we returned home the pain was shooting up my leg and just kept getting worse. I made an appointment with an orthopedic doctor. He could not believe they could not see the fracture, which was from the bottom of my foot in the arch area. I have a very high arch. The fracture was almost completely through the arch. He also told me that because I had been walking on it without proper support it had gotten much worse. A ligament was sprained as well, and it was separating the fracture more as I walked. read more

I wanted to share my experience today at the Brea Urgent Care. I was feeling like I had a sinus infection and had a short window of time to see a Doctor. This was not my first time visiting this office over the years with my family and myself. Today (Saturday January 12, 2019), I was in and out so quickly, and the customer service and kindness of all staff was so exemplary I wanted to list the staff by name. Erick, Ryan and Brittney (PAC) took great care of me, made the diagnosis and sent in my prescription electronically. I can't recommend them and this office enough. I came in experiencing asthma symptoms and let both the receptionist and the intake nurse know. I waited an hour and a half before coming out of the exam room to ask how much longer the wait was. I was told there were still other patients ahead of me. Mind you, when I was taken into the exam room, I was the only one there. As I waited in there, I heard a number of people come in and out of other exam rooms, meaning that they were taking new people ahead me. I couldn't breathe and was there to get a new inhaler since my old one was expired and my regular doctor was closed on MLK day. When I told the nurse I was leaving, he said a very dismissive "sorry" that may just have said "oh well." Every time we go to BUC we are greeted by the friendly staff, a clean and welcoming office space and efficient service. This weekend, I was at BUC 3 times...once for myself on Saturday, once for my son on Saturday and once for my daughters on Monday. The flu season kicked our butts but BUC was there for us! Jessica at the front desk was friendly, helpful and super efficient! The young male MA's who helped us out on Saturday-Monday were also very kind, gentle and helpful. Dr. Molinaro is super awesome! He's efficient, thorough, kind, and has a great way of explaining what is going on. Dr. Escalante was very thorough and kind as well. I am someone who is chronically ill with diagnosed rare conditions. My husband on the other hand refuses to go to the doctor unless he is literally in so much pain that he can no longer function. Well my husband hurt his back and was moaning and groaning and pushing himself for weeks before he could no longer stand and the pain was excruciating. Luckily we went to Brea Urgent Care and saw PA Andrew Perry and a nurse named Jenny. I can truthfully say that Andrew Perry was phenomenal through and just so kind. Its hard in this day and age to find any doctors with amazing "bedside manner" but he was the whole package and we feel so grateful to have had him as put healthcare provider. Both my husband and I stated that we wish he was our Primary Care Dr. My husband had to go back five days later and we again were so lucky & grateful to receive top notch care from Physician Asst. Andrew Perry. He handled my husbands issues perfectly and because of his care my husband is now more likely to get care when he needs it as opposed to waiting til theres no more options. Oh I forgot to also mention the xray technician who was also very personable and kind (I think his name was Erick). Fast, clean urgent care in Brea! I came in on a Sunday morning with an ear ache, just a few days before I was scheduled to go on a trip. The waiting area was super clean and they had a little coffee bar and a refrigerator with water in it. It was clean and homey and didn't feel like a regular urgent care. There was a patient being seen, that came out during the short time that I waited, and someone that came in after me. I have never waited such a short time at my own doctor, let alone an urgent care. This is not a doctor's office, these are con artist. They are close by my work and I needed a quick lunch break appointment for a sinus infection. I specifically called to see if they were contracted with Cigna and the girl who answered said yes. So I went online and booked an appointment, because apparently you can't do it over the phone. Went in for my appointment, I was the ONLY person in the waiting room. Still had to wait 20min before being brought back to my room. Then was seen by a doctor whom WAS NOT my scheduled doctor, and an assistant doctor who kept his hands in his pockets and can't even look you in the eye when he talked. Got a quick 5min exam and was sent on my way with an RX. Now...they billed my insurance for $500+ and $300+ wont be covered because the girl who answered the phone LIED and they are not a contracted doctor. I specifically called first for this reason!! $500+ is a ridiculous amount to begin with, that would be paying the doctor $100 a minuet for the time he actually spent assessing my issue. (the nurse deserves that he spent more time taking my blood pressure) And when I called the accounts payable number to dispute the charge all you get is sorry no one can help you but you can leave a message and we will get back to you in 24hours....well guess what, still haven't gotten my call back SHOCKER!!! This place does not even deserve a star but yelp feels bad for people and makes you give them at least one. Incorrectly diagnosed my 3 year old with influenza after she had a fever for 5 days. Dr. diagnosed her without even looking at her. Told us there was no remedy but to wait it out and fevers could last for 10 days. Then briefly checked her ears, lungs, and throat and confidently said he was right. Did not do a swab to confirm because he was SO confident. Two days later, still with a high fever of 103, we took her to her pediatrician to find her with pneumonia and ear infections in both ears. Both of which could have been identified earlier if the Dr. took the time to closely examine. What a joke! My daughter's life could have been in danger. I came to this Urgent Care out of concern for a very high fever. As a student, my only affordable insurance is MediCal. When I tried to check in at 8:15am on 7/29/16, the receptionist told me "oh we don't take MediCal" Being desperate I asked if it were possible to just pay the cash fee, because it had taken all of my energy to get there, let alone go to another Urgent Care. The receptionist refused, stating "oh if you have insurance we can't allow you to self pay because it's against government policy. " I was pretty sure she was full of %}*#. Unfortunately she refused to budge and I had to have someone take me to another Urgent Care, where although I wasn't covered there either, I could self pay. Interesting how these "government restrictions" don't exist at a larger Urgent Care that also isn't government affiliated. The morning receptionist is either ignorant or actively malicious to spread these lies to patients just to get rid of them. Please take heed of previous negative reviews below about the receptionists here as well. ------- If you plan to visit: -Check the website and bring a printed copy of the accepted insurance. The receptionist(as shown in a previous review) frequently likes to lie just to reduce work. Or spite. Whatever the reason. -You may also want a copy of your Provider Handbook in case this woman decides she doesn't want to deal with you and you need another place to go. read more

Clean, new facility and friendly staff. I came in on a Sunday at 10am and there was no wait. There are TVs in the lobby and in the patient rooms. They also have water and coffee available while you wait. I was in and out in just under an hour including filling out all the new patient paper work. The front desk staff, nurse and doctor were all very friendly and nice. The doctor seemed to really care about me. He even suggested some ideas for long term solutions for my health issues in addition to the antibiotics he prescribed. I haven't seen my statement from CIGNA (my health insurance provider) so I don't know how much my visit cost yet. I will try to update this review when I see the cost. Clean, staff is polite and gave us clear instructions on how to get here. The receptionist even came out and helped make a coffee. Paperwork was about normal for a medical place. They took a copy of the medical card so we could skip that part of the forms. Wait was short, but we were the only ones here. Intake was fast and no nonsense. I love this place! I have been here twice now and I really wish I wasn't moving away because it would definitely be my go-to when I need an urgent care. The office staff is always friendly and helpful. I am on a cash basis and it's $124 to see the Doctor. Not toooooo bad. They are very aware of it and don't suggest labs or extra treatments unless it is absolutely necessary. I really appreciate that about this place. It's also fairly new so I wonder if maybe that's why its never very crowded. But I'm not complaining! It's always upsetting to have a huge wait when you aren't feeling well. It's also really clean inside. There is a Keurig with plenty of tea and coffee choices as well as a mini fridge stocked with cold waters. Definitely one of the nicest urgent care facilities I've been to! I definitely recommend this place! read more
