Well this a sweet little spot tucked away a bit. Service was great, it seems possible that they are Buddhist's judging by the decor so it is probably more than "Just a job" to some or all of the employees. Prices are on the high side but the baked goods are quite tasty. Closed on Tues and Wed, only open until 2pm on weekends and 3pm weekdays so I often miss them after being on the beach all day. What a find! Service is amazing. Incredibly friendly. They bake all their goodies, sweet and savory, in house every morning. I had the savory strata and it was done perfectly. Eggs were juicy and well seasoned. Natural herbs made this dish well rounded and satisfying. My friend had a croissant with veggie spread and peppers. It was spicy and had good flavor as well. Everything we bought here was delicious. The wheat bread and white pizza by the slice were our favorite.

Stopped on our way out from our vacation rental to drive into the aquarium in Newport. Didn't get coffee as hoped because they don't have to-go cups and we didn't have time to stick around. But did grab some pastries for the road that were excellent. I think it's pretty cool that they don't use disposable cups but be prepared to sit and relax awhile if you stop in (or bring a travel mug?). The atmosphere is really cute though...maybe we'll stop again in the morning on our way out of town to sit and drink a latte. read more

I came a bit later in the morning, towards lunch time so lots of the goodies were already gone but I managed a strawberry rhubarb turnover along with some chai which hit the spot. Wifi reception here is excellent and the guys who served me were super friendly. You can tell everything here is made with love. Whether it's your go to spot for morning coffee and delicious pastries (the goat cheese prosciutto is phenomenal) or your just cruising the coast, Bread and Roses consistently delivers. The reuben is delicious as well and the owner makes some great home made soups that fill the soul with the first bite and the belly with the rest. The ambiance is like walking into a bakery from a simpler time. Everything is out on the counter fresh out the oven and the delicious aromas fill the air. The coffee here is the closest thing I have had to the coffee in Italy in the states. Dominic is on point with his mochas; I want to make a trip up the coast just to have one. They've got a strong delicious espresso flavor with a finish of deep subtle chocolate undertones on the finish. This is the perfect spot to stop in and warm up on the wet Oregon coast. read more

Wow! Hubby was present at 8:30am opening, along with a good number of other patrons. Selection is limited, what she bakes is what you get. But holy cow, delicious! We tried two flaky pastries - spectacular! A scone, and excellent muffin. What a gem! Don't be late or picky, and you won't be disappointed! One note, the prices are not cheap, but I suspect this pricing is standard for pastries of this quality. This place has great atmosphere and friendly staff and I wanted to like it but the coffee was just not good. I stayed in Yachats for a long weekend and my partner and I went there two mornings. I ordered a mocha the first morning and a latte the second. Both were difficult to drink. They just weren't smooth or milky or sweet. I can't say that I would go back. read more

This is an outstanding bakery. Their sourdough loaf is the best I have ever had- and I have sourdough starter from my childhood in the bay area in my fridge, so I know and love sourdoughs. The crust is perfect without being too hard to bite down on. Their hippie bread is pretty good too but cannot compete with the sourdough IMHO. Everything we had here was good- the coffee, the croissants. Did not get a chance to try their soups and sandwiches, but we will return. read more

Bread & Roses is simply the best. With no hesitation I will say that this place has the most delicious coffee (the best baristas), and of course, the finest pastries in Yachats. There are lots of good bakeries on the Oregon Coast, but none have the trifecta of perfect coffee, excellent pastries and a cozy atmosphere.... except Bread & Roses. The owner is a warm and thoughtful person who takes care of her community and her staff. She and her bakers create gorgeous, delicious pastries, and also makes healthful and delicious soups and sandwiches. The bakery is cozy and peaceful, filled with local art and local characters. Oh, and they also have delicious beer on tap, and kombucha too! Hooray! One bit of advice is to get there early: food this good doesn't wait around, and you won't want to miss any of it. read more

Liked the morning glory muffin for morning with carrots, coconut, apples, raisins, etc. I understand how much it takes to cook with this many ingredients and the resort environment, $4 is quite high for a muffin, but they may need to charge that much. Not thrilled with this place. Good bread, bad service. First I asked for iced coffee- can't make iced, then I asked for snickerdoodle cookies and he gave me sugar cookies. Lastly my friend got coffee and when she asked for a sleeve for it she got the response "well it's not that hot, but I guess I'll grab you one". And while all this is happening we're practically being ignored while they're talking to the regulars.
