We love coming here to pick up their fresh pizza dough. It is one of the best tasting pre-made pizza doughs we've purchased! The employee was very helpful in suggesting to leave it on the counter 90 minutes before rolling it out. The dough was easy to shape and very pli-able. We've also tried the french loaf, apple pie bread, and the strawberry pie bread. I recommend using the pie breads and making french toast out of them! The egg wash helps cut through the sweetness. Just moved into the neighborhood. I found this wonderful place I had bought a loaf of sourdough and a loaf of wheat and when I was checking out I saw that they actually sell pizza dough for people to buy it and I told the owner my next purchase will be that. When I got home I had some toast with the wheat bread was the most delicious thing I have tasted in a long time I'm so glad I have a awesome bread baker close to home. This bakery is amazing! They have a wide variety of baked goods from breads to scones to cookies (shout out to the maple walnut scone!). They also have cinnamon and garlic cobblestones which are pull-aparts! There's complimentary coffee to enjoy with your baked goods as well. The only problem with this bakery is that I stopped by on vacation so now I'm going to have to plan more trips to Oro Valley just to come back to Breadsmith :) read more

I stopped in Breadsmith on a Saturday morning looking for a coffee cake. The were sold out and since I was wanting something specific, I planned to continue on looking somewhere else. Best bread around! Each day has a different special breads such as apple, cherry and blueberry. More like dessert breads lol. They always carry wheat white sourdough etc. They also have scones, jams, and other specialty items. My favorite is the sourdough. They are more expensive than bread you buy at a store (around $7 a loaf) but definitely worth it if you love bread. read more

This is a wonderful bakery. It is small and the staff is very accommodating. As a special treat, we pick up loaves of bread on Sunday mornings to get us through the week. The bread stays fresh for days unrefrigerated-- a great alternative to grocery store-bought bread which often goes stale soon after you buy it. The rye bread is scrumptious and perfect for sandwiches. We've also purchased the rustic Italian bread (sliced) which is ideal not only for sandwiches but is also terrific for toasting and dipping in oil. This morning, we also made french toast with the leftover Italian bread. I can't say enough good things about this cute little bread company. We plan to build our Sunday outings to Breadsmith a regular part of our weekly routine from now on. read more

Customer service was great. They gave us good recommendations for sweet and savory breads. My friend gave me a loaf of their honey pecan and raisin bread and my family ate it within two days. I really fail to see what people are raving about. This place does make some very nice looking loaves but they are quite high priced and the selection is very limited. When I think of good bakeries I expect a bit more. This place offers a very limited selection of sweeter treats for example, and I've tried visiting a few times thinking maybe they had just sold out as only a coffee cake and a scone or two were available. Plenty of dog biscuits though, really? I was excited the first time I tried them but each visit since has left me feeling underwhelmed, overcharged, and only able to pick from a few items of interest to me outside of a decent loaf of high priced bread. read more

This is a fabulous bakery, and the fact it's on my side of town is great. I haven't been able to find real rye bread in Tucson -- until now. Their Traditional Rye loaf is the best I've had. I look forward to trying their New York Style Rye as well. The ciabatta is perfect with a great crust and perfect crumb. The Mediterranean herb loaf is another delicious choice. Toasting ciabatta and topping it with the Stonewall Pizza Sauce or any of the other spreads they sell makes a quick, light, satisfying meal. The cinnamon buns, frosted or unfrosted, available on Fridays and weekends, are marvelous. They also offer "specials", including a cinnamon swirl bread. Amazing. I love this place. My parents live in Oro Valley and we always make sure to get a few loaves whenever I come to visit. My favorite is the French Peasant bread(I think that's what it's called). So good. Also the pretzel rolls are delicious. I think this place could be even better if they had a barista that served coffee drinks, since Oro Valley desperately needs a cute cafe with yummy pastries that isn't Starbucks.
