They were extremely apologetic for their mistake and comped me a meal to make up for it. Don't waste your time, we drove out of our way to get here. OVERPRICED and CRAPPY food. This is NOT a one dollar $ sign establishment. Its SUCH a pet peeve that PRICING RATINGS have become INACCURATE on Yelp. $5 for 3 strips of bacon does NOT qualify as "$" - 5 strips for $3 DOES. Nonetheless, the ham seemed a very cheap B grade product, it was spongy and watery. The salsa I got was pretty much, all tomato water. The egg and cheese were both FLAVORLESS but the potatoes actually tasted BAD. How does one make potatoes taste BADLY? Good question! I usually LOVE the crunchy bits, and being on a very low carb food plan, I figured I'd treat myself to one crunchy. When I put the bit of potato in my mouth, it did NOT taste good-So much so, that I SPIT IT OUT. Now mind you, I'm someone who would love to have a carb, this was NOT even worth a fraction of one. What seemed like it could be a crunchy bit, in fact was soggy, and again... just did not taste good. I have been going here for breakfast for years and have loved the food and the value. But, last weekend, when I went to pick up my take-out order, not one cook or server was wearing a mask. When the woman behind the counter saw me approaching, she put on her mask. But the two fellows cooking were maskless during the time it took me to pay for my food, and maskless when I walked out. SO nice to have this in the place I call the "Bubble" This section if Oak Park really needs a coffee shop like this. The food is good and the place is clean. I's really hard for me to judge the "servers" because there is not any. It's not hard to stand up yourself and refill your own coffee. Casual place with no table service, but real plates and utensils (not plastic and paper), good menu and food, reasonable prices, delicious coffee choices (flavored and regular- I especially liked the Hazelnut Creme) and friendly service. Very nice ambiance with inside and patio seating. Laid back and quiet despite the place being family-friendly. Great customer service. I believe it is family-owned and the older guy that was there who I think is the "dad" was very sweet. He comes to the patio every now and then to check if everything is ok. Him and the "son" also make sure the coffee station is fully stacked. The food was great and tasty. My husband and I shared the 3 Eggs & Steak plate and a side of pancakes. It was a lot of food. First off its called a breakfast cafe and they don't have a grand slam equivalent, pancakes sausage, eggs, and hashbrowns. They only have two pancakes not even fluffy or tasty, two eggs, two bacon or sausage not both and hashbrowns were an extra FOUR DOLLARS!!!!! Ended up dropping close to 15 dollars on a shitty breakfast. Portions were small. Should have gone to denny's, ihop, or norms. Any of these place would of been twice as better and cheaper. I never knew how popular "breakfast anytime" with people. It's like a secret underground cult that pervades our society. But that's what I discovered while having lunch at the Breakfast Cafe. People eating french toast, waffles, eggs, at 1:30pm for crying out loud. I'm one of those conformists who believes breakfast before 10:30am only. Except for "Opposite Day" when the kids get to wear pajamas to school and eat breakfast for dinner. At Breakfast Cafe, being the conformist that I am, I ordered the gyros for lunch and expertly pronounced with "he-rows" to impress the Greek owner. The kitchen didn't miss a beat in making my gyro sandwich among the slinging of pancakes and hash browns. The sandwich arrived wrapped in a hot and fresh pita. The gyro meat was sliced very thin and topped with chopped onions and tomatoes. Crowning the gyros was a tangy tzatziki. The sandwich was not HUGE which meant I was able to eat it without getting tzatziki sauce all over my new shirt. read more

About a week ago I would've submitted a four star rating for this place, but after this mornings experience they only deserve two stars, mainly for less than stellar customer service. I've never been greeted with a smile upon walking into the restaurant. The only employees who offer a semi-good experience are the table busers and the cooks. The food, while delivered in fairly big portions, leaves something to be desired in the flavor department. The salsa is delicious, so again complements to the cooks. This morning I wanted to order the avocado omelet, priced at 9.70, which seems reasonable. However I wanted to make a slight alteration by taking out the onions and tomato, then adding bacon. I understand it won't be a straight substitution, and maybe I've always had a problem with this at restaurants...if I remove something why isn't there a discount, when you charge me to add things...but, I digress. The man said it would be a couple dollars to add bacon. Seems trivial, I know, but to me this is poor customer service, especially for a patron who has frequented this location regularly for a few weeks. I can't imagine two pieces of bacon costing a couple dollars, unless this restaurant uses organic grass fed products, which I doubt. Rant over, patron lost. read more

A great new breakfast spot in oak park. This place has a great little coffee bar inside which is all you can drink. This was the first time we went here and I had the breakfast burrito which was scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, and cheese. This was a very tasty burrito but the cheese wasnt melted, boo. I did try my girls pancakes which were good but she didnt put enough syrup on it, but dont tell her I said. I believe I met Nick the owner whom was a very nice person. Family owned Greek styled breakfast place on Lindero Canyon, fantastic place walking distance from where i live, i have nothing better to ask. Its just that even though there is outdoor seating, Sundays can get very busy. So if you are in a group, make sure you have a table before you stand in line for the order. They have it all. They typically serve almost everything you yearn to have during breakfast, I love the Greek omlette along with sausage, i like it for a very specific reason. The salsa just lights up the flavor of the omlette, so much so that every time i want to order another one. My wife likes the Denver sandwich and the chorizo one as well. Coffee is good and is bottomless.The ingredients are fresh, people are warm and the the place even though crowded and noisy, is just beautiful on the weekend. While i have had better tasting breakfast, this one is as good as it gets in this part of town, they can do better, I sincerely believe that. Came in for a breakfast burrito remembering it being one of the best I'd ever eaten a few years back. Today was a major disappointment. My breakfast burrito was ready immediately after ordering it- huge red flag that the food was not prepared to order. There were barely any eggs in the burrito and I couldn't taste them or the cheese. It was mostly potato wrapped in a tortilla. The potatoes were dry and tasteless. They tasted like they were frozen and microwaved. I ended up throwing away half the burrito because it was flavorless, dry, and inedible. Yuck. I've had better breakfast at Chick-fil-a and McDonald's.
