We went here on a rainy Saturday afternoon looking for a tasty brunch and we found it!! Started out the meal with some mimosas made using their delicious fresh squeezed orange juice and a cup of intelligentsia coffee. I got the chorizo hash which was amazing. Great place for brunch! Got a table on a Sunday morning very easily, and served quickly. Everything was fresh and absolutely delicious! My order was initially wrong but they took it back and remade quickly with no questions. That's a sign of a good business! Will definitely be back which is saying something in Chicago. read more

Went here with my family and was amazing! I got the salmon cake Benedict and it was sooo good! Only complaint I had was that one of the eggs was a little over cooked, and the hollandaise sauce was a little bit more runny than thick. But it was still so delicious! I also got a corn cake which was very well seasoned thought the sauce with it was a little bland. My sister had gotten the supreme chorizo hash and she said it was really good and well seasoned! I ordered the egg white frittata and it was meh, just plain spinach and tomatoes thrown on top with some feta crumbles, nothing special. Food was okay. We ordered Chicken and Waffle and Salmon Benedict along with coffee. Chicken and waffle was good, but egg yolk was hard boiled for Benedict. It was pretty disappointing. What happened to customer service? Seems like we are coming out of a pandemic and this business has forgotten who carried them through it - The "Customer" along with all our tax dollars! On-line ordering offers curbside pickup. We ordered, paid and tipped for a curbside pickup breakfast order. After waiting curbside well past the due time no order was delivered to our car. No phone call, no email, no notification the order was ready nor was it delivered curbside as originally ordered. Frustrated, I entered the business for my order, which was observed in a bag sitting on the counter. When asked for my order the hostess seemed completely confused, reluctant to assist and gave me the impression that I was an inconvenience. Customer service should not be taken for granted! There are thousands of breakfast places in the City of Chicago. I'm confident we can find another restaurant right around the corner for our next order. BTW - I expressed my dissatisfaction to the manager who advised me they do not do curbside pickup. I explained your website says you do curbside as an option. The manager acknowledged the website is wrong. Then fix it! Epic loss to provide exceptional customer service in so many ways here! We will not go back!!! Less than one star here..... read more

This place, IMO, gives incredible value and is a staple for my Chicago dining. The coffee is strong, the staff friendly and efficient from Busboy up. Everyone is polite and Knowledgeable on the food and drinks. Last but certainly not least, the food. The Atlantic Salmon Cakes, Chorizo Hash and Steak and Eggs are all phenomenal. The eggs are always cooked to whatever specification I may give and the chopped potatoes are always hot and crispy. Keep doing what you're doing breakfast house. This place does breakfast. Obviously. And they do it right. The absolute best thing on the menu is the chilaquiles. It's perfectly balanced in terms of flavor and texture. Their pancakes are also excellent, some of the best I've had. Bonus: they use real maple syrup. Finally, the service is very friendly and fast. While working in Chicago I visited this place once or twice a week. I already miss it... Oh, and they close at 2pm, so make sure you get there in time! read more

We have eaten at the Breakfast House many many times. The food is always fresh and extremely flavorful. The service is consistently outstanding - so very friendly and attentive. Yesterday, we agreed, the French toast was THE BEST we have ever had! Also ordered the special, a breakfast burrito that was outstanding. Our server, Juan, was one of the best servers I have ever had (including high end hotels and restaurants) at any establishment. He fits in really well with the other servers and wait staff. Best breakfast burritos in town! My husband and I have ordered it many times and they are consistently delicious. We just picked up take out since their dining room is closed due to COVID19 and they had taken serious precautions which I loved. There were only 2 people in there, wearing masks and gloves. They put your order on the counter labeled, would back away for you to place payment, stayed more than 6ft away the entire time, never came In contact with you and the place was spotless. Great food, excellent service! I asked the server about a breakfast item I saw on Yelp: The BLT Benedict - a poached egg atop a bed of spinach, avocado, and bacon. It was previously a "special" menu item. The server asked the chef if they could make it, and they did!!!! O.M.G.!!!!! It was amazing!!! Can't wait to go back to try other breakfast items. Stopped in here for brunch this week. It was about half full around noon, so the service was fast, friendly and polite. We had the croissant sandwich and the Breakfast House Hash. Had a really great experience at Breakfast House, glad we got to finally try it. The service and food were both excellent, looking forward to trying more entrees. We had the chilaquiles, croissant sandwich, Chef's crepes, and two eggs plus meat as entrees plus Intelligencia coffee, fresh-squeezed OJ, and a fruit cup.
