We genuinely don't understand how this restaurant has the rating it does. We were seated within about 10 minutes, which was the only smooth part of the experience. After that, it took over an hour and 15 minutes to receive a very simple breakfast order--eggs, bacon, and sausage. The menu is extremely basic, so the long wait time made no sense. During our entire wait, not a single staff member came by to check on us. We had to serve ourselves for coffee refills and even had to get our own water. For such a simple menu, the service was incredibly slow and inattentive. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience and not worth the wait. Breakfast in Easton is exactly what it says it is, and does all that standard short order fare perfectly. Service was snappy and the food came out promptly, but not suspiciously so. While it was a bit cold the morning we went, the outdoor seating in this little back lot hash joint was inviting. What I ordered vs. What I got (sheeesh).... SO, this was a very quaint place....very small. I especially realized upon entering that this is a place for the locals only. They do not cater to new customers, don't even try. Also, the customers stared me down, gave me dirty looks. They did not want me in "their" breakfast spot. No worries, I will not return (HA!). I read the reviews so I knew that it was in the back. This is something you would not know without reading the reviews or just knowing (no signage). I wasn't greeted when I walked in - even though all eyes were on me. I had to actually walk all the way to the back and ask to order (I still left a tip by the way because I am not that kind of person). My order took about 30 minutes even though I was originally told that it would be 15 minutes. This wasn't a big deal, as I noticed it was pretty busy for this small place. Inside was full - they had a handful of tiny tables (2 seaters - about 4 of them) and they had about 3 bar stools. Outside they had several small tables - all full. So, I didn't mind waiting - this way I knew my food would be hot and fresh. yessss!!! a win.... Ultimately, the food was well....not worth the wait. I knew when it did not smell like food inside - especially when cooking bacon you get the smells!! I ordered : (2) potatoes toast blueberry pancakes I got (received) : 1 order of potatoes toast blob of something (I am not sure if it is pancakes or if it is even done) I decided not to eat the pancakes for my safety. Also - the butter they gave me on the side had something floating in it. The toast is rather thick so it is something that you have to be used to. I like my toast airy and chewy with crisp edges, so it was not for me. The potatoes (the whole reason that I went) - I thought that they were like smothered potatoes, skillet potatoes, potatoes and onions (whatever you call them where you are from) - but these potatoes had no onions and they had the skin on them and they were pretty thick cut so this is not something I am used to either BUT they look absolutely yummy. So was in the area and ordered breakfast here...... So wonder why it was 3 stars instead of 5? I want to start off by saying this is a CASH ONLY place... and I wasn't the only one who didn't notice that... since others who arrived to pick up their food had to run next door to the bank to get cash out. Coffee was ehhh could've gotten a better cup from Dunks, Bucks, or even ROFO...... Scrambled eggs was a bit undercooked and still a bit runny..... the bacon was the reason why I gave 3 stars instead of 2... Scrapple..... ehhhhh couldve been cooked longer... but the dogs ate it... Pancakes were ok ... nice and fluffy... the syrup that was given with it was blah... very runny and not much of a flavor to it... Best not to go on the weekend. During the week, you may actually get served. On the weekend, due to one chef (renowned in the area), serving time can get backed up. If they'd communicate that, it might be make being ignored for 25 minutes after getting coffee service might be understandable. We mentioned we were ready to order; we were sitting in one of the most obvious tables. Less than 6 feet from the chef. Nothing. It's a popular spot because the limited menu, eggs, meats, pancakes, some fresh baked coffee cakes, pastries and muffins are all well prepared, house made and high quality. But even with an increased staff, service can be a challenge. Communications seems to be the root of the challenge. So on a Tuesday, when volume is down, it would receive at least a four star review....because we'd get served and we'd be happy. Yesterday, two stars because the coffee was good, but that's all we had since no one ever came to take our order and so we threw down three bucks and left. Never again. read more

Pros - the food was very good. I got banana pancakes and they were perfect. They do not have chocolate chip pancakes which is a shame. Cons - this restaurant is filled with bugs. The flies were bad outside so we went in to get a booth. Sat down and about 50 fruit flies come out, they must have been in and around the cushion. It was really gross, so we went outside. Now there are flies all over us. The coffee and water are self service but the area is full of dirt. I had to pull hair and dirt out of the water cup before filling it with water. While you wait for your food, you get to enjoy the mosquitoes biting you! Then food comes and the flies show up. They are everywhere. My husband and I stopped by to eat breakfast at Breakfast in Easton while visiting the area. This is the cutest little hole in the wall joint I've ever been to- and I do mean little. Total there were about 15 spots to sit (see photo of outside for size). The menu is just as small as the dining area but what it lacks in size it makes up for in taste. We both had breakfast sandwiches, blueberry muffins and home fries. The food is just as you'd expect from a small diner- hearty, delicious, no-nonsense goodness. The kitchen was directly to my left- the whole area is open concept and the chef interacted with people at the counter. Pro: Best pancakes I have ever had. I mean, truly, the best I've had in more than 60 years. Cons: They only had dairy milk out for coffee. When I politely asked if they had oat, soy, or really anything that wasn't cow's milk I was rudely told "No." The server then turned their back on me and walked away. Treating someone with lactose intolerance as if they are some kind of criminal is not ok. How hard is it to have a quart of a milk alternative on hand? I had to leave my group and walk more than two blocks to a coffee shop to get a coffee with oat milk. When I got back, I was just waiting for the server to say something about not allowing outside food. A very well-kept secret in downtown Easton, this breakfast only spot is a great local restaurant. Owned by the owner of Banning's Tavern, the tiny cafe has a very simple menu. We were offered a choice of waiting for a table, or sharing with another group. Feeling adventurous, we opted to share, and were seated with a nice older local couple. The conversation was great while waiting for our meals, and the outdoor seating was comfortable and scenic, being surrounded by beautiful flowers. When the meal arrived, we were far from disappointed. The coffee was flavorful, but not crushingly strong, and served in a sturdy mug. The blueberry pancakes were done just right. Fully cooked with no scorching. The bacon was also cooked to perfection, both crisp and chewy at the same time. When the bill came, I was shocked at how reasonably priced everything was. $20 got a 2 person meal. Food took very long time to be cooked given the simplicity of the meal and that we were a party of 2. Had to ask for a condiment side multiple times once food was finally received.
