We love coming here and bringing our family and friends. We have tried almost all the rooms and are always left impressed. The experience starts right when you walk in ! Staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging. Rooms are next level , the creativity and difficulty are what keeps bringing us back. Definitely a stop you want to make when in down town. We also recommend bringing a bigger group for some of their more immersive rooms. Everyone always compliments us on our choice of a game night when we bring them. read more

We went there for Valentine's Day and were able to book the spot two days in advance, which was very convenient. it was definitely worth the money and we enjoyed the experience: there was a detailed instruction before we went into the room, the room was highly well decorated, the atmosphere was breathtaking, the riddles (there were a lot of them, but an hour for 2 people is enough time in my opinion). the staff was very helpful, we were able to ask for help with clues when we were stuck. will definitely come back! read more

Visited today 11/11 for the FoSV room.. they had a veteran's day deal! I booked for a room of 5 but the day of, only 2 of us could go (stuff happens :P). I called as soon as I found out and the worker told me I was able to get credit back for the 3 who could not make it. Very reasonable, I was worried I would have to eat their costs . The nice worker (her name is Richany) who took our call ended up being our GM! My bf and I arrived for our 11am appt and she was there to promptly greet us. Upon entering, the lobby was very luxe and aptly themed! Richany had us fill out the waiver and there were lockers to store your stuff. The intro for FotS was a nice touch (won't put spoilers). Overall, the game room was really well thought out and this was my very first room I've done (I've done about ~10+ rooms) where all hardware/puzzles worked 100%, which is something noteworthy. We took pics after the room and they some nice steampunk-y props. Overall, Richany made our experience awesome, and Breakout Studios is a very nice escape room location. The flexibility and accommodations for our absentees was really impressive, and even if I did not have credit to use (lmao), I would come back here to do more rooms! p.s. My sons and I did an escape room on Memorial Day. We've done a few in the past so had high expectations, and this one was our favorite by far! We had a very easy time booking and showed up about 15 minutes before our scheduled time. Bao let us in, went over the rules and safety instructions, and got us on our way. The escape room (W.O.R.M) was very fun with a cool premise and pretty challenging -- there were far more steps to solve in 1 hour than we had in other escape rooms; the pieces fit together in unexpected and clever ways; and we definitely needed a few nudges (nothing too obvious, just hints to push us in the right direction) to get it done on time. We managed to escape with 2 seconds left, which added quite the thrill and sense of accomplishment for all of us! We've been talking about it since we left, discussing our favorite puzzles and some funny mistakes we made along the way. My sons keep asking when we can go back and try another room. We did the WORM room with my 14-year-old and 16-year-old. We are new to escape rooms, and we really enjoyed the puzzles and working collaboratively. Bin was excellent and helped us with just the right amount of hints. We ultimately solved the room with a few minutes to spare. It was a fun way to spend an hour with teenagers and they also enjoyed themselves. We would come back and try a different room for sure! read more

This was my first escape room and I have to say I have become a huge fan. The decor in the lobby sets the stage for the escape rooms. I came with a group of 6 and the first one we did was the Time Breaker Challenge, which brings us to the past. This is their most difficult room. We got split into 2 groups of 3 and had to collaborate and communicate with the other group to come together to solve the final mystery. We finished with just 2 minutes left and beat the record! All the puzzles were well thought out. It was an amazing experience! It was so fun we wanted to do another one. Fortunately, they had an opening for the W.O.R.M, which brings us to the future. It was also a very great experience, however, since we still had 6 people, it was a little crowded in the small room. I definitely like the Time Breaker Challenge more but I recommend trying both! We love doing escape rooms and have done dozens in many cities. Hacker of Silicon Valley room may be the favorite one I've done! We were worried because other reviews said the rooms were mostly one kind of puzzle but the Hacker room had a wide variety of puzzles and interaction types, everyone got to participate in puzzle solving, and the production value of every moment of the experience was excellent - I'm talking Disney quality! It was also the right amount of challenging and we didn't have any frustrating moments where we would have felt robbed because of bad UI design (it's rare to have an escape room without one critical moment that you couldn't have figured out without the game master redirecting you). Also for those who don't like having the game master in the room with you, they are NOT in the room with you. Came out of Yelp retirement to post this cuz I'm so glad they survived the pandemic and we rely on reviews to pick which rooms we do - definitely do the Hacker room! read more

Enthusiast review: 99 games played Hacker of Silicon Valley: 3.5 stars Father of Silicon Valley: 2 stars Decor/Intro: 5 stars Overall: 3 stars This company sets you up for something grand but quickly disappoints in game execution, puzzle design, and payoff. The lobby is beautiful which shows time was spent setting up the player for a unique experience. The intro and setup to the room is also extremely unique and one of the best I've seen in 99 rooms which makes it all the more shocking when you actually get to the room... All numerical, lock based puzzles. What?? From all the technology involved and production value to get you to the room, the experience itself is incredibly basic with vast majority of tasks finding combinations and keys to locks with predictable cyphers and over used math or logic puzzles. It is like a Gen 4 shell with a Gen 1 center which was disheartening with such an epic lead up. It is mind blowing how so much love was given to the exterior but it fell well short with no original gameplay. Hacker is light years better than Father so hopefully newer games will continue to improve and stray away from generic puzzles and use the ingenuity of the beginning all the way to the end. read more

Pros: amazing entrance, decor, themes, people were great! Cons: the rooms didn't really flow and make sense. The puzzles were random and hints are definitely needed which sucks. The story didn't continue on into the rooms and the endings. A lot of the puzzles were anticlimactic and confusing. I hope they can think about flow better and keep the theme flowing through it all so people know what to do next and how it relates to the storyline. All in all, good to check out if you're new to escape rooms to get a feel for more logical puzzles. read more

All props in the room are in good condition and you can tell a good deal of effort was put into the details. Super fun and exciting!! It was kind of hard to find it at first (we walked all around the building, called and then was let in) but once you are in the layout is great!! The experience is definitely fun, challenging and exciting. Some things are pretty easy but when you are under pressure you just feel different. I went with classmates turned friends. They made it so much more fun. The staff does guide you. We didn't finish at the 1 hour mark but they let us finish since we only had a few more steps it would've taken us less then 5 minutes to finish. The staff was so kind enough to do that. I appreciate it since you get a sense of some accomplishment lol. Definitely will be back!! Luckily there are so many other rooms so you can go over and over again. read more

Very fun experience! We did the Father room, just 2 of us with 4:43 min left and 4 hints. My friend was new to escape rooms but I have done them a few times before. Father is rated medium hard but I would say it was at most a medium if you ask for hints. Some puzzles required hints because we wouldn't have guessed the next step. We've done two different escape rooms here, one with a group of 6 and one just 2 of us. They were both plenty challenging, but the staff was great at giving hints without giving anything away too easily. Well done variety of puzzle types, and everything worked smoothly (we've done escape rooms other places where the props were half breaking, and so it didn't work as easily as intended), Booking with them was really smooth by phone; their website worked too, I was just confused at first at whether you needed to fill the number of spots available to ensure a private group (you don't). This place was so great. We went with a group of 16 people and they were so helpful with accommodating all of us with one of their hardest escape room. We got divided into 8 people a group and solved one room together and were also able to finish it before the time. It was so exciting for all of us working together and most of all wining it too. Clara the person there who works was helpful with everything. Arranging the tome slot for us and with all the process to get this done. The staff was sweet and everyone loved the game too.
