I went in a few years ago and got my first tattoo here with a guy I believe was named Chris and this is quite literally the worst tattoo I've ever gotten in my life, as someone with sleeves on both arms from multiple reputable artists and shops, let me say this place is a complete scam and a joke. The tattoo healed horribly with nasty puffy scabs due to poor practices..which led to 70% of the tattoo fading away within the first year and being completely unrecognizable, the line work is extremely sloppy, shading is nonexistent, & the service is also super egotistical and poor. Essentially you're walking in to get judged & overpay for a jail yard tattoo...wish I was kidding. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS I would provide a picture but luckily I got the completely questionable and hard to make out tattoo covered. Believe me or don't, it's your body and money that's being taken advantage of! read more

I got a tattoo here when I was 16, now almost 20. The tattoo was done by chris the owner. I asked for a butterfly with flowers days in advance expecting a handmade design. As soon as I walked in, he pulled up Pinterest and was like "this the one?". I wanted color and NOT a fine line. We almost didn't do color until I told him at the very end he forgot the color. He also did fine line and a lot of the lines didn't attach! My dad came with and Chris wouldn't stop talking to my dad, kids were everywhere, stopped my tattoo to go pierce a girl who walked in and charged me for that time, tried to put numbing cream on me because I flinched when he hit a nerve which IS NORMAL and get mad at me for it. Do not go to Chris if you plan to get a tattoo. He says he's been tattooing since he was 11 and it seems like he's been tattooing for two. His wife Eva is amazing, respectful and does so good even for being a newer artist! I will even show the picture of my tattoo of the before and after I got it redone by a different artist. I'm surprised this place even still gets business with how horrible the owner is and acts!! I keep hearing people coming in with a tattoo idea and coming out with something totally different. This tattoo shop ONLY pierces ears with HOOPS! Not studs with flat backs. HOOPS!!! They pierced my ears with 20G titanium hoops and my lobes were absolutely miserable. And I've had many ear piercing's before. This was not normal or safe. And wasted $200 on piercing's, ($50 each) and within 24 hours of my piercing's I went and got the hoops removed at another tattoo shop. Total waste of money after what "breathing canvas tattoos" did to my ears. The owner Chris is the one who did this to me. Terrible. Super cool guy, but absolutely terrible at his job. I just don't understand how they can do a first initial piercing with hoops. So unprofessional. I didn't know any better till I called another piercer and asked for advice and they asked me to come in immediately so they could help me out, and they sure did help me more than "breathing canvas tattoos" ever could. Spent $70 on a cartilage piercing that I had to get professionally removed 2 weeks later as it was WAY too small for the cuff of my ear. It was the only jewelry he had on hand and obviously didn't want to lose the sale, despite it not being the right size or color I requested. He told me it would be better after the swelling went down, but I had 1/4 inch migration in the back and the hoop was so tight it rubbed my skin raw and cut the cuff of my ear as well. Not to mention the place just felt dirty, used bongs and solo cups just lying around. No explanation of what he was doing or aftercare, and he didn't even give me his real name. Overall really sketchy. Don't waste your money and go see a professional. read more

Eva is phenomenal! I had a somewhat vague idea of what I wanted but she listened intently and not only designed something absolutely beautiful it was better than imagined. The studio is really clean and spacious I felt comfortable and very relaxed during the session. I can't say enough positive things! So I love my tattoo but it went from grey to blue in a year. I paid $650 with tip for this tattoo. I contacted them 3 months later asking if she could touch it up for me coz there's a few areas that don't make contact & a little unevenness but they just ignored me. Zero response. They responded quick when I made the appt tho. I wanted more to match but I'll have to find another place. Sucks when you pay TOP dollar for low quality. She was so nice too. I'm very disappointed with my tat earrings. They don't even match, Eva used 2 different designs. She touched them up once but they are so different that they can't be fixed. Her husband Chris said I have the skin of a 90 year old, I'm only 57!! My ears aren't wrinkled!! Now I have to pay another tatoo artist to fix them. I wanted pretty dainty earrings instead they will have to go heavier. Ugh!! I won't ever recommend Breathing Canvas!! read more

I have to give 1 star to post this but this shop doesn't even deserve it. Worst experience with super unprofessional staff. Here thinking after 3 days wondering if I overreacted but knowing I didn't. I should have turned around as soon as the owner asked "you're of age right?" And did not ID or ask me to fill out any paperwork. The guy took me back to pierce my ear which was the most painful experience and even though I yelled and begged to please stop several times, flailing around while he held my head down and continued to aggressively attempt to put in a hoop that was far too small and pierced way too deep into my ear. Once finished, he apologizes to other people in the shop but never to me. Meanwhile I'm shook, super upset and like confused on what had just happened. He then mumbled aftercare (I already know how to care as I've got many piercings and same piercing on other ear so it was whatever) I knew right away something wasn't right and I honestly didn't want to keep it in but I was afraid to go back to ask him to remove it as he was super aggressive the first time. I dealt with it until the next afternoon and went to another shop which ended up needing to be taken out completely and needs to heal because it was pierced too far in and crooked not to mention the extremely small hoop that was used. I cant comment on tattoos at this shop but I would never recommend this place for piercings. read more

I cannot tell you enough how wonderful my experience was here! They are an extremely clean shop they got me an appointment within a week my tattoo came out beautifully! Eva is amazing she was very patient with me in getting my tattoo just right! She adjusted the size for me a few times and I never felt like I was being a bother! We collaborated with ideas and made my tattoo perfect:) I feel a lot of tattoo artists have very big egos and Can be rude and impatient. You will not get treated bad here at all. Don't go here for piercings no matter what you do. I went in for a high lobe piercing and the guy didn't ask me what jewelry i wanted to use and he ended up using a hoop that's way too big and harder to heal, he also pierced my cartilage even though i specifically asked it to not be cartilage. he asked me if it felt like cartilage as if i should know and not the supposed licensed piercer. he also wasn't very gentle it was very uncomfortable and even though it wasn't the piercing i wanted i still had to pay full price. also it's been past the healing time and it's still not healed because it was probably done incorrectly. read more

Went with my best friend to get our ears pierced. She got lobes and I got a cartilage piercing. They were really friendly and cool from the start and got us back quickly after walking in. The space is cute and simple. Chris the owner did our piercings cleanly and professionally. Cool people, laid back vibe. Haven't had a piercing in so long I don't even know what the usual cost is anymore. Mine was $30 and hers $40. No issues at all and love the piercing! read more

I was looking to get a septum. And I'm really impulsive so I needed it then. Me and my bf called a few places to see if anyone had any walk-in that day. And this place was open should have asked for the price before starting. I guess they were nice but the guy who did my piercing was really defensive and charged a shit ton. 100 bucks for a septum!!!! And I mean he had already done it so I couldn't have argued. My bf got his ears pierced and he didn't want hoops but that's all they had. I came here to get my rook pierced. Chris was the piercer. I hate to bash people and businesses, but i was extremely disappointed. For starters your only jewelry option is an ugly silver bar. The reasoning behind that is "we don't want to buy nice jewelry because not everyone buys them" which is crazy because they're a tattoo & piercing shop you would think they'd have options. I have small ears so not all types of jewelry work with me. Chris still decided to use a 14 gauge bar. It looked awful and totally didn't match my ear/other earrings but that was my only option. He also didn't specify the type of metal because each metal has a different amount of nickel in it. He wasn't 100% clear with after care either. Then when it came to pay for it i couldn't use cash because he didn't have any on him i also couldn't use credit because he didn't have a credit card machine. I had to call a number and pay over the phone. I hated the piercing so much that i went to Tattoo 13 right after to get it fixed and painfully swap out my jewelry. The girl working there was so shook that i had a 14g in my ear. My friends came with me to get pierced, but backed out after they saw mine.
