I ordered flowers for administrative day and ordered them about 2 weeks in advance, the boss was willing to spend $50.00 plus whatever the cost of delivery, tax, etc. The day after they were delivered I went to take a look and was shocked and what they received. They delivered 6 flowered and these are small flowers in a vase nothing with the flowers just 6 flowers in a vase. Now I understand the cost of things have gone up but really? six small flowers in a vase. Now this was quite embarrassing since this is supposed to represent a thank you to these wonderful employees. Since the card read thank you for all you do, did the person putting that together not realize what was being said with that puny looking arrangement they were sending. I am only giving one star since zero is not an option. I was out of the country for my mother's birthday and this year was a milestone. In an attempot to make the day extra special, I ordered flowers via Breen's website before I left for my trip. I received an e-mail confirmation that my order was processed for delivery. Turns out, that wasn't quite the case. The e-mail indicates that the order was processed automatically but, the order is actually manually processed when they get around to it. There was an issue with the order once it was manually processed, probably becuase I had told my credit card company that I would be traveling. The company tried to reach me via phone several times (starting the day after I placed the order and got on the plane), but never once thought to use the e-mail address they had to reach me. Odd, since it was an internet order. Due to their lack of common sense, I didn't know about the problem until after I returned to the States - a day after the flowers were to be delivered. I understand that mistakes happen. However, when I called the manager (Marsha's) tone was very snitty. She aplogized with her words, but it was clear that she didn't appreciate dealing with me. It was also clear that she wasn't really paying attention. I told her that I saw no point in paying $85 for flowers to be sent after the fact. The very next thing she did was offer again to send the flowers. When I pointed out the issues with her lack of attention to the call and her tone to her, she made an excuse about not being used to dealing with unhappy customers first thing thing in the morning. Ugh - I am not use to received a confirmation and then not having the product/service delivered. I have no idea about the quality of their producted. I do know that they can not to trusted to use common sense to solve a problem and actually serve the customer. read more

This place is over priced and not worth the money you spend! I received a delivery that I had to send back because some flowers were dead (I was told the dead flowers were drinking water). They brought the flowers back and only changed the ones I pointed out(others were wilted). I sent a message and they called me and brought me another arrangement and it was still not worth the money my husband spent. I could have gotten more flowers from Kroger for $20 than I got for the $50 my husband spent! Receiving flowers should never be a chore especially when they are to celebrate a special occasion. read more

Ordered a bouquet online for my mother's Nameday, a celebration in my culture kind of like a birthday but that celebrates one's name rather than being born. I ordered them very early in the morning, and they were delivered the next day, as promised, which was pleasant to hear. My mom was very happy to receive the bouquet, but the photo she sent me of them was far smaller and sparser than what was shown online. Had I known she would have gotten such a meager gift, I would have (a) paid a fair $25 instead of $80, or (b) bought something that would actually be worth the $80 that I paid. I was just a little disheartened to have the moment ruined by being deceived by the price and the online photos to the extent that I was. read more

This is my second experience with this florist. Both times I have received flowers and arrangements (3) that I could have picked up from Krogers. The colors are old fashioned - small town, the mauve pink arrangement you would pick up for Grandma back in the 70's. Over sized faded roses, purple orchids crammed in a vase with shampoo pink colored marbles. If you are looking for a chic, elegant arrangement skip this store. Simple and effective explanation. I called at 2:15 and needed to have some roses delivered by 4:30 that very same day. The lady on the phone, Marcia, was as sweet as could be and hand picked the roses while I was still on the phone with her. She maneuvered a deal with the driver, stuck them on the truck right then and made it work. It's almost a week into it and my wife is still sending me pictures of her roses and telling me they are the best in her office (this was a day or so before Valentines Day). I live out of town and found this florist online as "the top rated florist in Houston." I called and asked what nice flowers they had on hand for the birth of my new grandson. I was told they had beautiful blue hydrangeas and lots of other blue flowers. They had a blue vase with baby feet on them and could add the blue flowers and some yellow ones for color. When I got to the hospital the next day, I looked at the many beautiful arrangements my daughter-in-law had received but didn't see my arrangement. Finally, I saw the blue vase with the feet and couldn't believe the arrangement. Not one blue flower, some cheap white flowers with some orange flowers stuck in. I could have bought something nicer at the hospital gift shop for $20, and I spent nearly $70 for this one. I felt embarrassed, misled and ripped off. Shame on you, Breen's Florist. I wish I could post a photo to show you what $70 will get you. Edit. After speaking with Jenny at the florist, and sending her a photo of my purchase, she offered me a full refund, which in accepted, and a replacement bouquets free of charge, whic I declined. I didn't feel the moment could be recreated and by then everyone was home from the hospital. I am glad they followed up. read more

We used this florist to deliver a $350+ funeral arrangement for a co-worker this week. It was ordered in a very timely manner but the arrangement was never received by the family at the funeral home. This florist still charged our account and won't refund the money. Very sad that we would be charged for something never received. The florist claimed they had a signature for delivery, which was initials, no signature. The funeral home and family never received these flowers when requested. I heard they were going to be delivered today, we shall see. read more

Valentine's day fiasco, provided by Breens! My fiance attempted to contact the store to find out where the roses he ordered were, as they were not delivered to my office on Valentines day. First he was told that the delivery person knocked on the door, and no one was there. Not true. There was someone in my office all day! Then he was told the flowers were delivered to suite 120. Again, not true! We don't even have a suite 120 in our building. The really f'ed up thing is they really made no attempt to correct the problem. Tell me how is offering to deliver the flowers THE NEXT DAY and refunding the delivery fee good customer service? IT WAS VALENTINE'S DAY FOR PETE'S SAKE!!! No clue where the flowers ever ended up. He was offered a refund. No discount on future orders, no offer of hey we'll send out some flowers and refund your money. Pathetic, just pure pathetic. The kicker? We're getting married soon and will be looking for a florist. Think we'll be calling Breen's? Not a chance!! Amazing how crappy customer service will always bite you in the butt. read more

For our anniversary my fiancé sent me a bouquet of princess roses. I hate to sound like an ingrate, but first of all, the arrangement looked like crap. You could tell that they put ZERO effort into the making the arrangement look nice. I wish I could upload a photo of the sloppy, cheap, frayed ribbon that they carelessly tied in an ugly knot around the top of the vase. I had to cut it off! Secondly, the flowers!! They were crap! Every single rose had holes in the petals, and the petals were all creased! It was obvious that they had not been handled with care, they looked filthy and it was obvious that they had picked off some of the ugliest petals, making the roses looked lop-sided and just plain horrible. I know my fiancé chose this place for 2 reasons. 1. They are very close to my work (yet apparently they still charge pretty hefty delivery fee to drive less than 2 blocks away); and 2. He could select the arrangement online and there were photos of what I would get. I checked online and what I received was nothing like what was pictured.
