Discovered Bree's Cakes on Instagram (the power of social media everyone, wow!) and started following her page because I have a strong interest in baking. Saw all of the incredible cakes she made and was super inspired!!! After finding out she opened a store front, I had to check it out! Bree was super nice to meet and we just overall had such a great experience! The store front was very nice and all the baked goods she had available made it incredibly hard to pick out a just few treats for the night (I wanted to buy everything, lol)! My sister ordered a cake from Bree a month in advanced for her BFF's bday, with that said we expected this cake to be like all her other cakes PERFECT. I am not sure if we are the first to experience this situation with her or not but I felt like I needed to write how unprofessional this transaction was , especially when I saw the expression on my sisters face, disappointment, so this really had me mad. The time for the cake to be delivered on Saturday was for 10 am, we planned the bday based on the cake pick up since the location of the party was an hr away. Bree sent my sister a message saying she was running late so it would be another 30 minutes or so , which is fine things happen BUT when the cake didn't get delivered til 3:30 that made me question her professionalism. I feel like we didn't get the same treatment as her other customers. The next day we kept comparing all her other cakes how beautiful they looked but our cake was just plain and looked rushed. For a high price we expected Quality for both the cake and business, especially when the cake was paid in full from day one. I understand you are a busy business woman and i applaud you on your success but sometimes organizing your time doesn't sound like a bad idea. I am pretty sure this wouldn't had happened with other people & we arrived to the beach party at 6 so all plans went down hill. My sister wanted to try their soul cupcake. I think they only have them on the weekends and sell out most of the time. We went arnd 11:30ish on Sunday and was able to snag four of them. We also got the strawberry shortcake cupcake, confetti cupcake, red velvet brownies, Reese's stuffed chocolate chip cookie and a banana pudding. I know, diabeetus. The desserts were all good, not great, if I'm being honest. I liked the strawberry shortcake cupcake the best. Tasted exactly like the ice cream. I wasn't a fan of the confetti one. The texture of the frosting was airy and familiar to the supermarket cupcake's texture. The cookie and brownie were tasty. I mean, Reese's stuffed inside a cookie? Red velvet brownies topped with Oreos?? Can't get those wrong The gold standard of banana pudding is magnolias. Compared to that one, Bree's pudding was probably a 7 out of 10. The pudding was a bit grainy in my opinion. Now for the star: the soul cupcake. If you take each component of the cupcake, it's not the best. The cornbread was a bit dry and the chicken a bit tough. I really loved the mashed potato and gravy "frosting." Everything worked well together. I ate it with a fork and knife and felt like I was eating a compact dinner. It feels like something from the cupcake wars. Although the desserts weren't the best I've had, I'm giving this place a four out of five because I'll probably come here to get my sweet tooth fixins (as I live in reseda), they have a good variety of desserts to choose from, and the service was awesome. It was near St Patrick's day and they had mainly holiday themed cupcakes which wasn't ideal. I agree with the previous posters regarding the email customer service, it's honestly the worst. Last year, I booked a cake with her and it was not the best experience, my cake came out amazing but she would literally take days to respond to each email. I had to email her three times throughout a 2 week period asking her to send an invoice after seeing her rant on Instagram that if you haven't paid your invoice, then your Cake isn't confirmed. When she finally responded to my emails, she said that I needed to be patient and understanding with her because she has a toddler and is currently pregnant which was also unprofessional in my opinion because it made me feel like I was harassing her just by emailing her saying that I hadn't received a response and needed to know if I should book a different bakery. Again, this year I gave the benefit of the doubt and tried to book her again two months in advance. I sent her an email and then proceeded to DM her via Instagram. She responded to my DM in a couple hours stating that she only takes orders via email and I said ok great because I emailed you a request prior to sending the DM. She responded instantly that she was catching up on all her emails that day and that I should receive a response to my email within 48 hours. 2 months later: I never received a response to my email! Thank God after I dm her and waited a few days for her response, I seen her post a pregnancy announcement so I didn't even want to try my luck with that experience again. I understand owning a business and being a mother and wife can get overwhelming but I think that she should make a small financial sacrifice hiring an assistant to help respond to emails, I'm sure it would positively impact her business and her customers experience. read more

Not all cupcakes are created equal and Bree's is the Platinum standard. First let's start with the actual cake flavors for her cupcakes. Their are no shortcuts here. Unlike some places that use the same stock batter with flavoring or coloring added, these cupcakes all were completely different in taste and texture. From the Strawberry to Chocolate to Red Velvet to Animal Cracker, all were different consistencies, in a fantasticly mouthwatering way. No mass produced cupcakes at this place. The day we went in, we were immediately welcomed by Bree's family who told us she was just icing a batch in the back. A couple of minutes later she brought out 6 Strawberry Cheesecake cupcakes. Just 6! They were absolutely divine! Small batches, so when they're out they're out. There were Red Velvet Brownie samples that day that we're a wonderful cake texture with the right amount of flavor. Cookies were a surprise hit. We came back for more Twix filled cookies but they were all delicious. The last item was a Unicorn Cake Cup. This was a jar filled with rainbow cake and icing with unicorn sparkle everywhere. Very cute for any unicorn fan. Again the cake flavor just exploded fruity without overly sweet. The soul cupcake is unlike anything I have ever tasted. There was only 1 left so we had to share but gosh was it savory and delicious. Moist, seasoned chicken, cheesey macaroni, and good cornbread made this a cupcake unlike any other. Go to Bree's Cakes. No regrets and glad I went with my foodie instinct. The combination of everything was perfection. The cornbread not dry by means especially since cornbread can have a dry texture. My only regret is I didn't get four, but now I know better. This is a super cute shop! You will not be disappointed. I stopped to pick up cake pops for a work birthday party. Bree's had sixteen sparkly cake pops, in silver and pink. I asked if she could write Happy Birthday on two of the pops, and she thought about it a few minutes. After thinking about frosting, she decided on fondant initials-one says HB and the other JV, for my friend's name. And, she was able to write everything in purple! Also, I picked up a Samoa cupcake, which was so yummy I wished I had another one! The cupcake was super moist and the frosting had coconut, caramel and chocolate.
