I get a text from the (I'm assuming) owner, a few hours after my 3:00pm appointment (which I'll address later)... telling me that "my Venmo tip payment did not go through"... I responded "it did on my end" then proceeded to screen shot her literally the confirmation at 4:07pm. I get an apology "my fault." Back to this 3:00pm appointment. Which didn't happen at 3:00pm, more like 3:10pm and was awful. I'm not sure if it was the fact that my massage therapist (??) was audibly wheezing but she moved in a way that she was trying to make up for lost time..? In any event, I watched the clock as it struck 4:00pm. Still tipped the instructed $20. Thought, ok I'm not gonna come back, no need to review this place because I just won't give them my business. Was not greeted at the door, the guy behind desk was on phone and I had to say hello first. He instructed me to pay first. I showed him an offer I had from Yelp on my phone for a free aromatherapy, he took my phone and walked away with it down the hall and outside the back door, as he told me to wait in the massage room. The lady told me to lay down and I had to tell her he has my phone. Anyway.. the massage was not bad. Medium to strong pressure felt nice on the knots in my neck/back. I paid additional for body scrub and didn't like it. It didn't feel good and didn't clean off very well. Hot rocks felt AMAZING! Overall would rate the massage a 6 Pros: bed was comfortable and room temperature was perfect. Cons: not very welcoming or friendly, not very professional. At the end I handed a cash tip, then they told me I can just tip on my card/receipt. So they handed it back, I added tip to receipt and she didn't give my cash back.. it was just awkward and they were standing around me watching me tip. I didn't like it. To start by addressing some of the bad reviews on here: If you want an elevated massage ~experience~, this isn't your place. You should know that when you pay $50 for a 60-minute full-body massage; expecting the Ritz is dumb, and on you. There was briefly a guy at the front desk who was pretty bad (kind of ignored you and was rude) but I haven't seen him in a long time. Otherwise yes; the rooms are fine, the music is the same every time, the sheets are just normal sheets. It's not going to blow your mind, but it's all really solid. The comments about tipping are weird; when you're paying so little for the massage itself, it's pretty easy math to understand why $20 is the least you can do, assuming you enjoyed your service. If you can't afford $70 total for a massage, you probably shouldn't be out getting one. Even the massage place charges $66 for 60 minutes as their base price, and the environment is comparable (massages are universally worse). And to be clear, no one has ever 'followed us around for a tip'; our masseuses do tend to walk to the front with us to offer us water and thank us for coming. It's really nice. My husband and I visit all the time and we tend to leave $30 for each of our masseuses because they're awesome. For context, we used to go to Raven Spa in Silverlake for our massages. It cost us $100 each NOT including tip to get a far inferior massage to the one we get at SP. We were paying for ambiance and brand, and we were actually pretty satisfied with their pricing for the area (even though we weren't really in love with the massages); until the first time we tried SP. Now, we pay ~$80 each TOTAL for the. best. massages. of our lives. Every time we walk out we feel 1000x better. Every masseuse we've had has been super receptive to pressure feedback, amazing at finding and working out knots, and really, really nice. I honestly feel the need to defend this place because it would be such a pity for it to not exist; I don't know how we'd ever get similar level massages at this price point anywhere else. Overall, this experience was positive, as long as you go in with reasonable expectations. A friend and I walked in for a couples massage so we'd have a joined room. Payment for the service is collected upfront, and our service was $50 each for a 60 minute massage. The front desk attendant noted that we should tip our masseuse afterward. Once we were let into the room, we were asked to Undress and get under the top sheet provided. I personally don't expect much conversation or consultation before my service at Asian massage places. The lady who worked on me, just went straight to it. The amount of pressure applied during the deep tissue portion was great, and the hot stones were so relaxing! She worked on the deep knots between my shoulder blades and it was amazing. For a brief moment at the beginning, she massaged near my spine which was a bit painful. I also wish she focused more on my lower back, but I also didn't articulate this to her. Be aware that they'll lean/knee on the massage table; at some point she literally was on the table with me while kneeling. It didn't bother me though. Won't be coming back - overall a very whatever experience. I've been working out a lot and have some chronic pain issues that flare up. I impromptu booked a massage - they had a special for 90 minutes for a good rate but what sold me is 15 minute lymphatic and 15 minute foot. That day in particular I had a migraine that lymphatic drainage would definitely help with and my feet are very flat and very in pain most days - perfect! I show up pay the fees and add on some oil or add charge for cbd muscle whatever whatever - cause my mentality is splurge snd feel better. The massage was perfectly adequate - she did a good job and hit it heavy which I appreciate. As I'm sitting there relaxing - she starts doing hot stone - which gave me some anxiety cause it was an add charge for them I remembered. The massage ends and I didn't recall any significant lymphatic massage done on my face more than like head scratches and my feet were basically untouched. I tipped 10 dollars because she did a good job - but it wasn't what I asked for. The lady at the front who received my tip was not the masseuse but the front desk lady - who then started to try and shake me down for more money. The small waiting area had two other people waiting and I didn't want to get into it or be disrespectful so i shook my head said "no thank you" and left. I wanna support small businesses but I've been honestly kinda conflicted about it. I grew up in this area and drove by this place. Wanted to support small business and was down for an impromptu massage. I looked through the reviews and the name Jenny kept coming up. So, I called them and I requested for her, she said ok. I walked in and was greeted by the owner. I asked if Jenny would be my therapist and she said no but assured me not to worry and that she would give me a really good masseuse. Mind you, this was a $50 massage. I wasn't expecting it to be Burke Williams or dolder grand. I was expecting a $50 value massage. Their massage tables are those that have an awkward hole in the table where your face doesn't quite fit and the sheets are all bunched up by the hole and you can't really breathe. Fine though, it's only $50... My masseuse started off by asking "hard or medium". I said hard and the first thing she did was dig her elbow into my back near my waist. I flinched so hard and I asked if she could just do a firm Swedish. Don't think she understood but she said ok. She still used her elbows dragging it all over my back on my bones/spine. Real masseuses know that you're not supposed to massage on any bone. It felt like she had never massaged anyone before. She had limited English and I had a really hard time asking her to go more firm without the elbow. Finally, she understood and asked me to try for her stepping on my back. I was hesitant but she was adamant it would work. She literally put all her weight on one foot directly on my spine! I screamed and she got off. I had had enough and asked for the massage to be done with and that I would just pay for the hour even though we were only 15 minutes in. I motioned to discontinue but she went outside and called for the owner. The owner came in and said she'd bring in another lady. I was already so unhappy and wanted to leave but didn't want extra bad vibes so I said ok. The next lady was actually decent but not enough to salvage the experience. My back still hurts (worried about tmrw) and I'm pissed the owner gave me that lady. If she said she was gonna give me a good one, should've just given me the Second Lady to begin with. I've never felt more violated. I booked a time with Lucy and when I arrived had a male employee take my payment before entering the room (odd). I got undressed and laid on the table, waited 10 minutes and then without my knowledge the gentlemen came in to my room and started to touch me. As soon as I lifted my head and saw it was him, I asked him to stop and that I requested a woman masseuse. He said it'll be 5 more minutes, told him it was fine. A woman comes in, started the massage but would keep leaving the room and coming back, leaving the door wide open while I'm undressed. Finally, someone comes in tucks the thin sheet in my underwear and starts to rub my lower back except something was off. I look up, and it's the same guy I asked to please leave and get Lucy, the person I originally booked with. I immediately asked him to get out and close the door (as it stayed wide open) so I could get dressed and left. A buddy of mine brought me in and recommended this place. This was my first time ever receiving a massage and has me convinced to coming back. If you are an athlete or do bodybuilding this will get years of knots out from training. The lady who worked on me was clearly experienced by emphasizing on certain areas without me mentioning them. She asked me multiple times if the pressure or feeling was alright. It felt strange but I quickly acclimated to it and enjoyed it so much. I didn't get her name but she wore a mask and had a ponytail. Very nice and sweet. Very disappointed. I asked for pressure and it was very minimal. Not a lot of technique in their massages. A lot of light rubbing and pressing. Unlike other really great massage places, they didn't ask for any areas I would like them to focus on and they didn't notice where there was tension in my body. I've been wanting to get a massage for a while because of my back soreness and I'm glad I found a closer massage place than the one I had from Twins Chiropractic in Placentia, CA. Free parking is located in the back of the spa for tenants or customers in that plaza. I came a few minutes earlier and one of the ladies offered me water while I waited. I reserved my spot a few weeks in advance to test out their Tuesday Summer Special (June 2022 - August 2022), $50 for 1 hour deep tissue massage. Massage with Kacy: My Chinese isn't the best, so she spoke to me in English. I had trouble understanding, but it was my fault because I almost fell asleep and I wasn't prepared for some parts of the massage, which added to my confusion. To prevent confusion, I'll break it down. They instructed me to take off everything except my underwear and I laid on the bed before Kacy came in. She started off with a cloth massage to get out the knots in my back. She later gave me an oil massage followed by hot stones and a warm towel massage. Kacy was very gentle, but also tough on my knots. Several parts of my back and legs are ticklish so it was kind of funny. After the warm towel massage, she asked me to lay on my back. I was confused by this because I never laid on my back for a full body massage before. She massaged my scalp, neck, shoulders, and thighs before cracking my back. It was honestly really funny, but I wish I was in more pain. Payment: They accept cash or Venmo, if you want to avoid a $2 credit card surcharge. The suggested tip for a 1 hour massage is $15+ for good, $20+ for great, and $25+ for best. I've gotten a lot of different massages over the past 15 years and I've been coming to this place for the past two years. Lucy was my go-to masseuse before she "left to China". Who knows if that's true. She really knew how to work on my super tight and painful shoulders. I've left a generous tip for her every time. Now that she's no longer there, I've seen a couple of different masseuses and they were okay but I intended on coming back. Today, however, they lost my business. After a new Lucy gave me a massage, I left her a tip of $20 for a 90 minute massage that cost $90. I usually left $30 or more for the original Lucy as she was REALLY good. The new Lucy was alright. She didn't know how to work on the shoulders. She was rubbing on my bones rather than muscles and knots. Still, she listened to all my requests and given that I was the last customer for the night, I still left $20 which is more than 20%. On my way out, the owner stopped me and told me that I should have paid $30 or more for tip for a 90 minute massage. What?! First of all, who the hell forces a customer to pay more than what they think the service deserves? Second, $20, I think, was generous for a mediocre session. Third, is extra $10 of tip for one session worth losing a loyal and regular customer? I don't think so. She said "next time". Pffff there won't be a next time. read more

I was in desperate need of a deep tissue massage, and as this place had high yelp ratings, I decided to give it a shot. The space & room were what I expected, ok, but the massage was by far the worst I have ever received. First, my person had limited massage training. Deep tissue is not poke elbow harder into muscles. But most important was that I could hear her eating as she entered my room (I was face down) and I continued to hear her cough and sniffle. I kept thinking she must be wearing a mask. I was so uncomfortable, I almost walked out 10 minutes in. (Lesson: listen to intuition!). When I finally turned over, I discovered she hadn't been wearing a mask. !! The deep tissue didn't mess around and my stiff & aching neck, shoulders, and back felt all the pleasure. It was so comfortable that about halfway through I fell into slumber. The lady asked me medium or hard. I said medium. This was the most painful massage of my life. I kept wanting it to be over which never runs through my mind when I'm getting a massage. She then asked if I wanted hot stones. I said yes. She placed them on my back in a non gentle way and they way hotter than it should. Almost unbearable. Overall this was a bad experience. I felt uncomfortable and felt so anxious the whole time, please do your research. I am now very sore and in more pain than the way I went in. I will never step foot in this place again. "Lisa" really worked out all of my knots and went above and beyond. She could tell my back was in bad shape and my muscles are still spasming in a good way.
