A friend told us about this place and recommended their Reuben Sandwich, so today we stopped for lunch. First, what a nice place. A small bar & restaurant. The bar was full, of what looked like regulars, and the tables were half filled. Nice, friendly kind of place. The Yelp summary describes this as an Old-school bar with a nostalgic vibe - I have to say that is the perfect description I got the Reuben, which was only $8.95. Kind of hard to find a place for a sandwich for under $10. Today, the Reuben was the special, which meant I basically got a free side. Went with the chips, they were good. This was a really good Reuben sandwich. Everything just went together perfectly. It tasted delicious. Lots of corn beef and the cheese was melted perfectly. Great sandwich, relatively cheap, friendly place. Highly recommended.

This small deli in a charming brick building in the heart of KCK is a true hidden gem. The daily specials are always a great deal. I had the Chicago style beef special with macaroni salad and it was great. The sandwich is made fresh and it shows. Can't wait to come back.

This review is for a late lunch for two at the bar on a Tuesday in mid-December. service: Nancy was a great bartender - professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. bar: Free State Yakimaniac and Guiness on tap plus all the usual suspects. Extensive can and bottle list also. I drank the Yakimaniac ($5.50 as of 12/2025) and it's always a great beer. food: Bob's Italian sub ($7.45) was one of the best renditions of that classic that I've ever enjoyed. My friend had the Reuben (also $7.45) and reported it was equally excellent. Note the menu lists the Reuben as the #2 best seller. Nancy shared beer is the #1 best seller. Too late, we noticed the off-menu KC Reuben, which is burnt ends and coleslaw ($10.45) details: The place was plenty busy with regulars, even for midafternoon on a weekday. It's a classic neighborhood bar, with plenty of holding forth and tall tales. They have an outdoor seating area behind the bar. It's street parking, with plenty of spaces right outside.

My band, RELAAY, recently went on tour and played a show at Hillsider's in Kansas City. Just across the street from the venue was a sandwich shop the locals swore by, so I had to check it out. Inside, it felt like stepping into a small community hub, where big groups gathered around tables, laughing, talking, and playing cards. I had some work to catch up on, so I grabbed a spot on the patio instead. It turned out to be perfect: quiet enough to focus, with a TV nearby so I could still catch the football game. I did a build-your-own wrap, and it was delicious. The portion size was generous, and it was extremely affordable! My bandmates ordered theirs for delivery at the venue, and they loved theirs as well.

If you're looking for a chill spot with great food, then look no further! The service is on top of everything from the moment you get there! Had the Italian beef special today and definitely worth the try, especially if you like French dip. Check it out for sure!

I see they are open late, but all bars have that. What's important to me is how late is the KITCHEN open? I hate driving half an hour at 9:30 pm only to find out the bar is open, BUT the kitchen is closed. ☹️

Gary Westmoreland, so I know a thing or two about Suburban neighborhood bars parading as Irish public houses. First things first, apologies for my long absence. After the untimely demise of my frequent dining partner Maurice (who definitely slipped and fell on his own), I just needed a break from my Yelping. #RIP #accidentshappen But, enough about me and my shenanigans. Let's talk about Conroy's. This place is sort of like a zoo without cages for the animals. After I walked in from the bright parking lot, I found myself in a dark bar full of people mostly old enough to make me feel young again. A gal with Viking hair shouted "sit wherever ya like!" from behind the bar (I think that was Conroy's version of a host). I chose a tiny little table for 2 (sigh, I was solo) amidst the crowd. I was greeted some moments later with a menu twice the size of my table. I donned my cheaters and began chapter one of the largest menu I've ever seen. The menu was resplendant with classic Irish dishes like nachos, pizza and burgers. I felt like I smelled a hint of Irish Spring soap and was whisked away to the Emerald Isle!! I kid, of course. There's plenty of fare from the land of the Leprechauns and faeries. I chose cottage pie because it seemed authentic and comforting. Even though it's been years since Maurice's tragic ACCIDENT, I still find myself needing comfort food when I'm dining solo. It was delish. I wanted to lick the rarebit it was served in clean, but the nosy man seated nearby at a large round table (by himself, mind you) kept staring at me from above what appeared to be a pint glass full of communion wine. He had a disconcertingly large head and facial features. I wasn't sure if he needed a friend or a fresh corpse for his crawlspace. Anyway, I maintained my manners and didn't clean the plate like a Beverly Hills chihuahua. I didn't try any booze on this visit because my Uber account is locked due to a disagreement with a swarthy gentleman who mistook my friendliness for an advance and yada yada. Anyhoo, I don't dare risk a dewey when I'm driving mother's Chrysler. Anyways, this place was great and the imposing, cologne-sodden Tongan boy who served me was a real sweetie pie. I think I'll download Lyft and stop by soon for some Irish beer and another bit of cozy fare. Slainte!

It was very hot but we cooled off inside. I'd like to try the patio if possible if I go back. We sat in the upper room due to being able to see the tvs. It was busy but not hectic and we found a table right away. I like Irish beer but I tend to get the local brews when I travel and I'm glad I did. Boulevard was pretty good! If I had more time I would have looked for a six pack to drink before paying RIDICULOUS prices at the stadium or FIFA Fan Fest! Service was good, quick and friendly. I brought my bottled water in, as most restaurants use the bleachy tap, and they were ok with bringing me a glass and some ice. The rest rooms were smallish but clean. Next time I'll also try to get the 'authentic' Irish or local fare!

Even walking in, we weren't quite sure what to expect. The entrance is small, and you're greeted right away, which was a nice touch. Once inside, it's very dark with deep red lighting--almost like stepping into a cave. It took a moment for our eyes to adjust, but once they did, we immediately felt at ease. The space is cozy and perfectly aligned with its purpose: it's all about the jazz. The service was great--welcoming, attentive, and added to the overall experience without taking away from the music. And the music? Absolutely captivating. It pulls you in and transports you--you can't help but settle into the vibe and just enjoy the moment together. We went on a Monday, so there was plenty of seating, but I noticed there's also a lower level that likely accommodates larger weekend crowds. There's a solid drink menu and a small selection of food, but honestly, this isn't the place you come for a full meal. Come for the drinks, stay for the music, and soak in the atmosphere.
