Oh my goodness, what a lunch time experience! Awesome service from our waiter, Jay. He was very welcoming and on point with his suggestions from the menu. Hands-down one of the best waiters we've ever had. The food! the food! I had Butternut Squash Bisque and my husband had the Lobster Bisque, both savory and delicious. There were 4 nice size pieces of lobster in the bisque. Most he ever had in the bowl lol. Entrees of the Capital Grill Signature Cheeseburger and Cobb Salad with tenderloin slices were superbly cooked and beautifully served. We celebrated my husband's birthday and the dessert they supplied was so delicious, plentiful and beautifully arranged. A picture of art! The table decorations and birthday card were a classy touch. My sis & I decided to pop in just so we could have a chance to connect and catch up. We were going to use the complimentary valet but there were close parking spots so it was unnecessary. We decided to sit at the bar and start off with wine. Our bartenders were pretty cool. They were very attentive. We ordered the salmon and scallops. We chose the spinach for the side and a refill on the wine lol. All in all, the food was great as usual, the atmosphere was on point and my sis and I had a great time. This is a retrospective review of our lunch we had last week. We go to lunch at CG often as its a convenient location for my customers. Our regular waitress in the bar wasn't there on that particular day so the other dark haired girl who bar tends at the same time was obviously managing all the tables all the booths and setting up the bar for the day/night. Our reservation was for 12 o'clock and by the time we got out of there, it was 2:10pm, several delays with the steaks a VERY long delay with the tuna and an even longer 50 minute delay for the au gratin potatoes. I don't think that they should have someone setting up the bar for the nighttime while she's trying to wait on customers for lunch and she disappeared three times assumedly to go outside and smoke or do some work behind the scenes and we were left without drinks or water for 15 to 20 minutes. Not very attentive at all and there was only two other individuals in the bar area the whole time we were there so it's not like she was busy with other tables. She was doing work that should've been done before they opened. All in all over two hours for lunch is unacceptable. My customers won't come back because they don't have two hours plus travel time for a lunch. She credited the bill for the super long delays but it's not about the cost, it's about the experience and having a timely lunch. The other unfortunate circumstance is there was a repair man there checking one of the side security doors the whole time we were at lunch and this annoying alarm kept going off every time he would test the door like some alarm that goes off on the back door of a Taco Bell if someone opens it after dark... 8 to 10 times and he kept slamming the door and opening it to test it, why isn't this type of thing done at 8 o'clock in the morning before they open ? not at 12 o'clock noon when there's customers in there spending $350 on lunch. This isn't Leo's Coney, it's a very high end restaurant with high expectations from customers. They need to act like a high-end restaurant not a corner dive bar, which is what it felt like the entire two hours and 10 minutes that we were there. read more

Completely enjoyed this superior dining experience at The Capital Grille. From the moment you walk through the door, there is a high level of efficient, professional, and genuinely welcoming service. We were seated in a lovely booth overlooking the kitchen, which was such a fun touch--we could actually watch all the action happening behind the scenes. Our wait staff, Andrew and Joseph, were fantastic. They were attentive, personable, and worked hard to meet every dining wish. A couple of managers also stopped by to say hello, which made the experience feel even more special. The décor and ambiance are sophisticated and elegant without feeling stuffy. It just feels proper! Things we totally loved: The crab cake with lobster was large, perfectly seasoned, crisp on the outside, and simply a really good crab cake. The variety of breads is so darn good that it's difficult to stop eating them, especially with the wonderfully creamy butter that accompanies the breadbasket. A real star of the show was the lobster bisque. It was absolutely delicious and easily one of the best lobster bisques I've ever had. The entrées: The Porterhouse did not miss! It is definitely a substantial steak--essentially two steaks in one. Make sure to order the sauces on the side. The Capital Grille's Signature Steak Sauce has a rich sweetness from cane sugar, brown sugar, and molasses, and the Courvoisier cognac cream sauce was incredible. Wow! Both totally elevated the steak experience. We also ordered the roasted chicken with fingerling potatoes in a Dijon cream sauce. This dish had great potential, but unfortunately our chicken was a bit overcooked and dry. I'm confident that when cooked properly, it would be delicious. And dessert--don't skip it! The chocolate espresso flourless cake is a must, and the apple tart was fantastic. We really, really enjoyed the entire experience. Between the beautiful atmosphere, exceptional service, and some truly standout dishes, this was a memorable evening. Excellent lunch service with Megan and Rachel! I love that they have multiple imported Liquors, I had my staple French75 with impress gin-- divine!! For lunch, I tried their salmon which was cooked nicely couscous rice threw me off because it is sweet, but it balanced out just not expected. And the clam chowder was pretty good, I am not a fan of a lot of potato cubes and there was just the right amount. The ambience is welcoming and modern feel. read more

The Livonia location is new and was really busy on a Thursday night. The parking lot is large (you could park near Coopers Hawk as it shares the lot) near Laurel Park Mall/Holiday Inn but it was so busy, I had to drive around to find a spot. Service was excellent (really exceptional). We had a lovely evening with friends, had some cocktails (took a while to come out but we were catching up so that was okay), and treated ourselves to a special meal. My friend had the Sliced Filet Mignon and really enjoyed it. I ordered the Sea Bass and it was alright (maybe a touch overcooked) and personally it does not need as much butter sauce (my asparagus and mushrooms were drowning). I would stick to their steaks. It is a pricey night out but honestly the atmosphere is upscale and very nice (a good place for taking business clients out). I did see a private room with a nice large round table. The bar area was also full and has like 5 TVs so a good place to watch a game and have a nice drink. I would recommend The Capital Grille for a special evening out. It was a little tough to figure out what I wanted to rate my experience. I decided on a 3 simply because the service was okay and the first bread basket I had was cold. The next one was better. The truffle fries didn't seem fresh, the chicken breast was okay that was barely warm and tough. I was just disappointed. The server was nice she was just hard to find when you needed something, the table in front of me, were upset as well because they couldn't find her. The black tie margarita was pretty good but it tasted like juice. The overall all experience was just okay and I wanted more for a restaurant that is considered 'fine dining' like actually fresh food the price. I will try the other location in Troy again and maybe this location when it's not as new. read more

The service is exceptional! As soon as we walk through the door we are greeted and taken to our table. No long waits on being welcomed. The restaurant is gorgeous from the decor at the bar to the linens. I'm really big on clean and beautiful restrooms where I eat dinner. The ambiance is a sexy sultry vibe. I've always loved the Capital Grille in Troy but there is something refreshing about the one in Livonia. The food is excellent this is a restaurant that takes pride in their presentation. We walked into Capital Grille on a Sunday at 5:00 p.m.. We were immediately met by two hostesses who rather rudely asked if we had a reservation. There was no smile, no greeting, and no effort to make us feel welcome. There were only two of us, and the restaurant wasn't even half full, which made the interaction even more surprising. First impressions matter, and unfortunately ours was far from positive. A restaurant of this caliber should ensure that every guest is greeted with kindness, warmth, and professionalism. We visited Capital Grille for my FIL's birthday and had a really nice experience. We have two little ones with us and thankfully the table that we reserved was in a separate, spacious room. They got to run around to their hearts desire without disturbing other guests, which their parents really appreciated. The food was very well done, starting with a surprise flavorful amuse bouche. Steaks were cooked perfectly and sides were wonderful- especially the creamed spinach. I've never had creamed spinach before and it's definitely now a favorite of mine. Unfortunately, the only bummer was the asparagus- which was VERY thin and fibrous on the ends but all in all the food quality was very high. Dessert was delicious and they even brought out a small platter for the birthday celebration. Service was attentive and detailed (crumbing the table) without being intrusive, but I will admit it took a while for anyone to come check on us for boxes and the bill. We went here for our anniversary and the service was great from everyone. They put rose petals on our table which was so nice! They brought out the bread basket and butter quickly, and all of the food was well paced. All of the food was good- we started with the goat cheese salad (it had a tiny bit of a kick spice wise) and lobster bisque which was on special that evening. I had the Wagyu filet mignon which was great. For sides we had the mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts and they were both excellent! The bruleed cheesecake is as good as it sounds! We had to get boxes because we couldn't finish it all. The only downside is the background noise was pretty loud. At times I had to shout so that my husband could hear me. My mom and I are making this our evening spot to have girls nights together. We have had a wonderful experience, two things last night that were a disappointment was they didn't have my favorite vodka, Zims and my mom did not like her seared tuna, it didn't have any flavor to it and was dry. They kindly took that off the bill in the end and appreciated they did so. Allante our waitress was amazing and took great care of us! She did offer my mom other options but was not needed. She kindly got us dessert, small versions of the crème brûlée and flourless chocolate cake. The chocolate cake with the raspberries go so well together! For dinner, I got the 10oz filet with Parmesan truffle fries and asparagus for the sides. Filet was absolutely perfect! I always love how hot the fries come out and have that perfect crisp! The service is top notch and actually I have not experienced a dinner like this in such a long time so close to my house. I had the dry-aged porterhouse, it was finished in this steak butter enhanced with a Kobe beef tallow. Best steak I have ever had. Not on par I have been to 10 capital grill steakhouses and this one was the worst. Not on par with other capital grill steakhouses. Our steaks were cold and over cooked and service was terribly slow. A food is good, but just mediocre. And for the prices, it should be melting in your mouth wanting more and you don't get that from here.
