Bottom of the burrito is super soggy, a great use of my $15

great if you want your to go breakfast burrito to be wet with fruit juice by the time you get it home why would they do this?

Grilled Chicken Sandwich - except that I ordered a Chicken Salad Sandwich

They're perfectly nice here. But I'd like to get the food I ordered? Got a grilled chicken sandwich but I ordered a Chicken Salad Sandwich and they didn't tell me. It's a perfectly fine dry sandwich but has no condiments, and they didn't tell me? I would just order something else a lot less boring

Impossible burger and sweet potato fries. Wow!! So good!!

I really, really want a place like Brett's Kitchen in my neighborhood!! It's warm, friendly, tidy, and welcoming. Bright colors, cool decor, open grill, and loads of healthy and vegetarian options for breakfast and lunch. And cans of cold Diet Coke, mmmmmm! My Impossible Burger and sweet potato fries are fantastic. Best meal all week! No wait to be seated, even at noon on a work day, and my food was ready in less than 10 minutes. Friendly staff. Loved this place!

Love this gem! Great diner nestled in design driven area of Chicago. Very good, clean, healthy food options. Vegetarian friendly. Very tasty! Friendly employees!

Got the Mediterranean Chicken with Tabouli (but with portobello) , so good!

Cute place, fresh food, little sidewalk patio. What's not to love! Not a lot around like it in the area so it's a great spot to grab a sandwich. I subbed portobello in my Mediterranean chicken sandwich, really good!

Egg shell in the chicken noodle soup.

Food: 1 Service: 3 Cleanliness: 1 My 3rd time here just because of its proximity to the office and only 1 time has it been good and edible - to go. Service isn't super friendly as well.. either stern or emotionless. The 1st visit I got the chicken salad sandwich and open up to see a fruit fly having a grand time in the lettuce. The 2nd visit was bc a friend stopped by and wanted something simple. He got the soup of the day and one of their bread pastries, ok! The most recent visit... I got the basics of all, grilled cheese and chicken noodle soup. Grilled cheese was nothing special. 2 piece bread and layer of melted cheddar cheese, okay. Can't go wrong with that. A couple bites into my chicken noodle soup I find an egg shell. An. Egg. Shell. Why the heck would there be an egg shell?! Clearly it's either by the disposable or they're just careless when making their sandwiches and soups. Ugh. Would I return? I tried. Never again.

Saw fruit flies inside the pastry display.

Their chicken tortilla soup is SO good. This place is a gem. So glad there's a spot around here that's not a chain.

We bopped in and little to our surprise, it was the best decision we made all day. I got the shawarma bowl with gryo and the garlic sauce fries and wow, everything was to die for. I wish I wasn't just visiting Chicago so this place was more accessible to me everyday. But I fear i'd go broke if this was in my city. This is a great quick lunch option especially if visiting the zoo/park/beach area. Everything felt light, fresh, and healthy. It felt a little pricey for me but it's Chicago so it may be normal so take that as you will but for how delicious and the amazing ingredients it's worth it. Especially that dang pink sauce on the fries....you've got to get the garlic sauce fries if you check this place out. Some of the most beautiful and tasty fries i've ever had! The atmosphere is cute and bright too. A happy place to eat lunch and hang out in! I'm not from Chicago so i'm already missing this place! Add to your "must try" list for sure!

Dresscode: Smart Casual / Casual Noise Level: Medium (it gets buzzy after 5:30pm) Thursday night Happy Hour was lively, so it took about 10-15 minutes for someone to come around, but service was attentive once we got going. The food is where Ēma really shines. From the Happy Hour menu, the Charred Eggplant Hummus and Crispy Potatoes were generously portioned and great for sharing. On the main menu, the Indian-Mediterranean fusion Bhel Hummus was a party for my taste buds, while the Hot Honey Halloumi and Chicken Kefta rounded out the table nicely. The halloumi is more of a side than a main, but that sweet-and-salty hot honey combo was chef's kiss. For our finisher, the Chocolate Torte knocked us out. Decadent, delicious and chocolate with lots of depth. Overall, Ēma is an excellent spot to order a bunch of dishes for the table and get an elevated meal without feeling stuffy, and delicious without taking itself too seriously. DO's: - Make a reservation ahead, especially for happy hour 4-6pm - Treat apps like small plates, order 2-3 to sample - Entertain their wine list, they have a lot! - Bring vegetarians here, there are plenty of options DON'Ts: - Dismiss the desert menu. It's fantastic and shareable! - Forget to ask for extra pita with the hummus! - Miss out on the LettuceEats loyalty points (check-in with your server before paying your check)

Enough to share with 2-3 people *Braised short rib sandwich - In a pita stuffed with cabbage. The beef was extremely tender. Unfortunately there was several large pieces of cabbage core vs shredded. The fries were crispy and seasoned with za'atar. The au jus provided, tasted it had a bit of red wine vinegar. That was a winner! Would order both items again. The decor is beautiful. Sat at the bar and the bartender wasn't in the best mood. Minus one star for the combination of the large pieces of cabbage core and sat at the bar for about 15 minutes - no one was there to serve us.

They played good music and wasn't too loud. You could easily carry on a conversation or , like me, continue listening to a podcast. By the time I finished, the place was completely full and a bit noisy, but not bad. I started out with a 10oz Birds of Prey Pilsner. It was very nice. Light and crisp and very easy to drink. I followed that up with Melodious Maibock and ordered the CBG burger with fries. I didn't have lunch so I dove right in and forgot to snap a photo. It was a very good smash burger. It was cooked well and I really liked the combination of pickled onion and caramelized onion. I didn't see it until later but you can add bacon. As much as I loved this burger, bacon would totally take it up a notch! I started chatting with the bartender about their different beers and decided to have the Super Melodious Jalapeño Maibock with the burger. It's soooo different, but in a good way. It paired so well with the burger. You get green bell pepper on the nose and a hint of it on the palate. When you swallow you get a little heat at the back of the throat. It was so good! Great bar. Great food. Great beer. Go check them out!
