Brevins has been our go to place to eat and food is usually good but their new menus are so hard to read, especially in the back dining room that is dimly lit. Brown menus with white lettering. We had to ask for a senior menu (there is nothing on the menu to indicate they offer a senior menu). Also, it was so loud that we had to almost yell at each other. Not the best place to go for a conversation with friends over dinner. read more

Had the corned beef today for the St Patrick's Day It was very busy. They handled it well. Had the Rueben sandwich but there was not enough corn beef to want me to order it ever again. They said they had cooked 150lbs for the St Patrick's day but I would not have guessed it with the little used to make the sandwich. read more

If you've been here too know-come hungry. My family came in for Mother's Day lunch. Service was very friendly and kept up with refills. I chose the filet special. The steak had good flavor and was quite tender. I asked for medium rare but got medium. Maybe order under a bit so they don't over cook. Came with a salad that was but enough for a meal itself. Brevin's isn't a 5 star elegant dinning kinda place. However, what they do they do really well. Therefore I give them 5 stars. This bar and restaurant has been in this small town for a long time. The facilities are updated, clean and well taken care of. They have a good sized menu to meet a lot of different tastes. The wait staff is friendly and professional. I have been here three times and the food has been consistently good. In the past I have the pizza - which was very tasty. On my last two visits I have had salads and soups. The salads are nice sized and fresh. The santefe salad has a nice blend of different ingredients. The southwest dressing had a bit of spice but not over powering - definitely recommend! One visit I had the chili. It had plenty of meat and a nice amount of spice to appeal to most tastes. read more

Meh. The restaurant was clean and I appreciate they were able to accommodate our larger group (10) in a private area but the food is rather average, at best. My uncle ended up sending his back because it was cold and my daughter said her pancake tasted like paper. I went with something more basic - classic eggs and sausage and the sausage was too salty of my liking. The staff was attentive and friendly and I know options in this area are limited, but this wouldn't be my top pick. read more

Very good breakfast we had here. They serve a lot of food for the price. The syrup is nice and warm and very flavorful, and they give out massive pancakes that you would not believe. But, Their eggs should be a little warmer in my opinion. Also, there was something weird in the coffee mug and it looked pretty nasty, but the server gave us a new coffee cup with coffee in it because of that. Please also clean the bathroom again. It was pretty dirty and stinky but that can be fixed easy and you should add some air fresheners in their. Like most restaurants please give out more napkins. Syrup is sticky and I need to wipe it off but their is no napkins. Overall it was pretty good; service was good, food was delicious, and the waiter was efficient and nice. read more

This is a charming small town restaurant. The people here are exactly what you would expect very polite, and responsive to your need. This however is very bland simple food, with with no creativity or seasoning. I understand some people really like no seasonings and this may be your five star place... For me, I prefer food that I don't need a salt/pepper shaker. This is an average restaurant because of the great people and atmosphere! read more

We recently hosted a funeral luncheon for approximately 40 people. We ate off the menu, drinks, desserts, etc. I cannot say enough good things about Brevin's. They handled our group in a very friendly and professional way. We were served our food promptly, it was hot, it was good. The drink orders were taken & checked on frequently. When we got the bill, my husband had them check it twice as we thought somethings had been left off and not charged. It was correct. Thank you Brevin's. You could do worse than this greasy spoon. Pretty good food, small town folks, a good meal you could say. Use to live in Churubusco and came here for a quick fix for my dinner. We stopped on our way through, on a road trip. The place is cute, kind of supper club-y, and was fairly busy, even for a Weds night. I couldn't call ahead for a meal to go (no cell service) so we had to walk in to order. They were fairly prompt about preparing our food (it's not fast food and they were busy) and the order was mostly correct, the staff was fairly but not overly friendly. The wait wasn't super comfortable. We tried to sit at the bar but were told that room was reserved for a private party and we weren't allowed. There was one chair near the host station I could have sat in to wait, but it was kind of in the middle of everything. So... standing near the front door it was! My friend waited in the car. Food came out after 15 minutes, in styrofoam. all the styrofoam. ugh. And because it was in styrofoam everything was soggy. really soggy. My companion said her chicken tenders had a decent flavor, but they were soggy. As were the wedges and my fish and my fries (all the fries, but no mashed potatoes available). I'm sure it would have been better if we'd eaten in the restaurant, but there has to be a way to package to-go orders to retain at least some of the quality. Even taking into account the fact that all our food was steamed after being fried, it still wasn't that great. Well... the coleslaw was decent. and the cottage cheese. I'd asked for lemon rather than tartar and got tartar and no lemon. Maybe my soggy pollock filet would have been better with lemon, but now we'll never know! Anyway.. I can't say I'd take the detour to try this place again. While we were waiting I joked that we could always head across the street to McDonald's and after receiving our food, I almost with we would have. read more

I ordered the buffalo chicken dip. It was hot, flavorful and copious. I ordered a Cajun mushroom Swiss burger, it was cooked perfectly the accompanying fries were hot and crispy. The staff were friendly and engaging. The owner was there. I mention this to point out that if a restaurant owner is somewhere else on Friday night--Saturday night--or Sunday afternoon--then their opinion of their own restaurant is not as favorable as the place they are choosing to frequent. Pleasant surprise on our way up to Michigan for the holiday week. Blink and you'll miss it but if you stop in you'll be happily surprised. I had grilled chicken salad and the chicken was cut up perfectly and SCORCHING hot and fresh. I loved this! The lettuce was reg iceberg so don't look for romaine :). The rest of the salad was boiled egg, tomatoe, cheese, a couple of radishes. Don't ask for balsamic or vinaigrette (raspberry flavored only) no lite ranch just the good stuff! So I asked for ranch on the side and just dipped. As a WW leader I still felt I did we'll on plan although the yummy appetizers called my name. He had tuna on a croissant and a side salad which truthfully was huge - def got our money's worth and it wasn't expensive. Bathroom was clean and they have a bar in the back! Ahhhh! Heaven! So happy to have a place close to home to go eat when you're looking for a meal and you don't wanna cook. I think the food is pretty consistent across the board. Fair price decent food. Love their fish. I'm assuming at some type of Pollock. The breading is what makes this fish. So glad they've been around for so long. Consistency. That is what is expected, by all and from all. This establishment is consistent. The Prime Rib is always a pleasure. Please note: the Baby Back Ribs will forever change what you precieve as "good ribs", these little pieces of meat candy will be your new standard to which all other ribs invariably fall short of. The chicken malibu is also a good choice for a memorable sandwich. The salads are better than you will find anywhere else. The prices are lower than expected and definitely lower than the magic wand. read more

Every time I go here and try something new...I am NEVER disappointed. The last time we went 1/25/20 I tried the lasagna...wow! It was delicious and one serving was enough for four people. The salad was great..the garlic toast was great! I also LOVE their mushroom casserole. I wish I would have asked what our waitress' name was. For such a tiny town Busco has some pretty good restaurants. Brevin's is one of them and is, in my opinion, second only to the Magic Wand. A friend and I used to come here on Sunday's. The service can be a little slow, but the after-church crowd that usually makes up the majority of customer's here isn't in a hurry. Just relax until your food is ready...it's worth the wait ;) The menu is very tasty; the fries can't be beat! They're amazing! The atmosphere is nice. So, If the Clown-theme decor at the Magic Wand creeps you out, OR if your just want some great food, stop by Brevin's! read more

Wow! What a great hidden gem. I heard of this place from a friend and my mom and I decided to try it today. From the outside this place doesn't look like anything special. Parking is a bit of a challenge but there are some nearby stores that offer additional parking. Upon entering the restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised to find a delightful beautiful decorated dining room. The neutral colors and etched glass make this eatery an welcoming place. It took a couple of minutes for a hostess to see us, but she was very friendly and took us to a nice table and took our drink orders. Our waitress followed promptly after to check on us and provided us with some extra time to review the menu. All of the menu items seemed to be great choices. We placed our order and shortly after our appetizer was brought out. We ordered cheese curds. The portion was HUGE. It could have easily been an appetizer for 6-8 people. The curds were the proper temperature and tasted buttery and delicious. The ranch provided was a little runny, but had good flavor. A few minutes later my salad arrived. I know that salad is pretty standard wherever you go (for the most part) but I was satisfied that it was fresh and crisp as you'd want a salad to be. Our entrees arrived and our eyes nearly popped out of our heads. Once again the portions were huge. I ordered the fish, ribs and potato wedges. The fish was great; however I would have preferred just a little less breading. The tartar sauce provided was sweet and delicious. I would have preferred a bit more relish in the tartar, but the flavor was still great. The bbq ribs were outstanding. The menu listed the portion to be 1/3 a rack. There were at least 6 bones, which I've seen served as half a rack at other places. The flavor was perfect. Just the right amount of sticky bbq to still taste the great meat flavor. The potato wedges were good as well. Again the portion was huge. They were served on a large platter plate by themselves. I enjoyed how they were served with sour cream. The flavor was good. We're excited to go back and try the other menu items. Overall our experience was excellent. Great food and outstanding service. Our waitress never let our drinks get to the bottom and promptly removed dirty dishes from the table. This is a must visit! read more

I will never ever walk foot in this place again. It's not the food which makes this even more sad because the food really is pretty good. Along with my family of 4 and my parents we went to brevins every Sunday afternoon after church. We always got a certain waitress and she's super sweet and attentive. One Sunday afternoon we got a different waitress and she was absolutely terrible. Extremely rude, grabbed lemon of my dads drink with her bare hands, the list goes on and on with this waitress. My mom requested management but he was busy cooking (or something along those lines) so my mom wrote him a note about our service and we moved on. We even went back but made sure to request the waitress we like. About a month after the incident with the bad waitress I received a letter in my mailbox addressed from brevins so I assumed it was management finally acknowledging the letter my mom wrote. I was wrong on so many levels. It was a LONG letter from this said bad waitress telling my mom just how incorrect she was for feeling the way she did and how wrong it was of her to write the letter to her manager about her service. Never in my life did I think a manager would actually let this waitress read the letter and get access to our information. The entire situation was handled unprofessionally on management and the waitress parts. Brevins you lost weekly repeat customers because not only your failure to train your waitress but to also protect your customers identities. read more
