Had heard the fish and chips here were great so we came for lunch on a Friday. (That's the daily special!) All of the booths were filled and a two larger groups were also enjoying a meal out. I wondered how the service would be but it was fantastic today. No long waits and plenty of genuine smiles. I really loved the three lightly battered very crispy cod fish sticks. The tartar sauce was zingy and added a lot to experience. Fries were hot had a nice crunchy exterior and soft interior and were plentiful. The coleslaw I didn't like at all. Too dry and not tasty. Husband tried the Reuben and quietly ate with a big contented smile. Quality dark rye bread and meat really shine. Enough sourkraut and dressing to tie it all together. Went here last night for St. Patty's, thought a Rueben and Fries would be fitting. Ordered 2 and an appetizer of Spin Dip. The chips and dip were good the beer was cold and that's where the good things ended. The Fries tasted old like they were under a warming light for too long, the sandwiches were mediocre at best, the corned beef was like pre-sliced lunch meat and not enough sour kraut or dressing. And finally the service, we felt like forgotten after the food was delivered. I went with some friends to the trivia night they host on Wednesdays and we had a lot of fun playing. They had prizes and lots of good competition (we ended 4th). No changing tables in either bathroom.. I shouldn't have to & won't take my infant & toddler to the car to be changed especially in cold weather. I have changed both of my kids in the booth before but shouldn't have to expose my children that way either. I have to lower my rating for this place. Even though the food comes out fine 97% of the time, the service is not that great. It seemed okay when it first opened, and I thought they would get better because they were getting the new business running, but it has steadily declined. It is hard to get service and get attention even for drinks. I frequently visit still for their happy hours and weekly specials (can't beat these deals), but service needs work. We have group events here and occasionallh have reserved tables, but they still don't give us enough servers to meet the number of people even when they know how many are coming. read more

Stopped in while driving back from vacation. Clean and open, my wife's burger, the smothered waffle fries and my side salad were really good! But my mixed cocktail was wrong, and they just said that's how the well drink looked. Later they came back chuckling they had made it wrong, but didn't offer to fix it. Well that was a bad experience! I went into Brubakers to eat after a workout and sat at the bar. The bartender wandered over after a while and I ordered a drink which came fairly quickly. She asked me if I was ready to order and I replied, "Yes I am!" She then didn't hear me or ignored me and I didn't see her again for a long while. I'm not sure how long but I read 6 sports articles and did some Amazon browsing, so 20-25 minutes or so. I tried to catch her attention several times but was ignored. She did however provide good service to a nearby couple at the bar...maybe they were regulars. She finally arrived with no apology and by this time I was really starving so I just paid for my drink and left. Then I went to Burger King and received fast, efficient service, Such a shame because I go workout next door 4-5 times a week and could have become a regular, Plus being a former bartender myself, I am an excellent tipper! Came for Sunday Brunch that is available from 10-2 pm and $16.99 for adults. Their Sunday brunch is buffet style with eggs, bacon, sausage, roasted potatoes, biscuits and gravy and more. There's a carving station, omelettes available to order, and French toast with a variety of topics. There's also a dessert/fruit bar and other lunch items like Mac n cheese or chicken tenders. I stuck to breakfast items and my favorite was the French toast! I would consider coming back just for that, it was delicious! However, everything else was okay. I'm not a big fan of buffets so maybe that's why I'm giving it a 3. Besides the French toast, everything else was alright. Our waitress was very nice and would refill drinks as needed. It's a pretty large place. Unfortunately we got stuck in a booth with 6 people so it was somewhat inconvenient getting buffet food. I recently went to this bar and grill for the first time with a group of close friends. They were telling me how there is always new events at this place and the night we went was supposed to be karaoke--they'd checked the website. We got there and there was not karaoke but the Chiefs game plastered on every television. Okay, fine. Would have been nice to notate but it is what it is, sports are a big deal here and they are a bar and grill. We were seated and our server took forever to come to the table just to take drink orders, nearly ten minutes. No biggie. Everyone but me orders water, I get the beer sampler on special. She leaves the table and doesn't return for another fifteen minutes to drop off our drinks. She doesn't take our food order nor do we see her again for another twenty-five minutes. Now the place is relatively busy, but not crazy. Also, we can see her standing at the table caddy-corner to us talking and laughing with the group about any and everything. Please note: she didn't even try to have personality at our table. The only reason I'm giving this place a two-star is because the very busy manager tried to make up for it by running our table, checking in when she could and taking 10% off of our tickets. After four attempts to enjoy this place, I will not be back. The service has been poor all four times! Each time, we get a discount, or something free, as an apology... and we appreciate it but it would cost them a lot less to provide good service from the beginning. Do NOT let Sam wait on you. After about a 15 min wait, she literally tossed the menus across the table and told us that's what we get for not checking with the hostess and seating ourselves. For the record, the hostess DID seat us!!! (I'm in my 50s and my mother is 80. We are not line skipping, restaurant rebels!! Ha!) Even the table behind us commented on Sam's attitude, to the manager, after seeing and hearing her comments. My salad was great. Mom was not happy with her salmon. It was dry and there were no tomatoes or croutons on her salad... but it took a while to get our food (which the new server told us it would) so we didn't complain. We received free dessert. There is a stage for live music, and there are many TVs on which you can watch a multitude of professional sports games. Most of the seating is hightops, though there are booths and regular tables. SERVICE: My service wasn't anything special. I sat at the bar and was waited on by Erica who wasn't rude but had the bedside manner of a turnip. FOOD: The food here is basically your standard pub fare. I got the Fire Burger which was actually spicy (many places tone it down). It was topped with pepperjack cheese, onions, lettuce, tomato, jalapeno slices, and jalapeno relish. The meat came out medium as ordered, and I chose waffle fries as my side. VALUE: Their regular prices are middle of the road value for what you get. Brewbakers does offer daily specials to attract more business. This was a smart move given the fact the restaurant is hard to spot from the street and the fact the menu isn't very unique. Overall, Brewbakers is a solid 3.5/5 establishment. It could raise its score by training its service staff to be more lively, and it could also benefit by creating a more unique menu. read more

Came into Brewbakers to enjoy trivia with our favorite host and really enjoyed this spot. I've been to the ones in Johnson County before, but not the one down in Belton. Started off with the loaded fries, and just a heads up, if you order these make sure you have about 4 people because the queso will get really heavy on the fries quickly. Waffle fries were cooked perfectly. For dinner i ordered the white pizza and added pepperoni. Would have liked a thicker crust, but the pizza itself had a lot of flavor that i really enjoyed. The group ordered the dessert pizza that was extremely delicious. A lot of tvs and a wide open set up really makes for an enjoyable spot. A good amount of beers on tap as well should leave most people satisfied. read more
