They don't put their lids on tight enough!!! Watch out!!! Just had a tsunami of coffee overtake my cup holder, cars ruined, put it up auction on eBay, now I gotta go to barber school to pay off my new car loan

Brewed Awakenings is a busy place, especially on the weekends. Located in the heart of Hingham center, right next to an excellent ice cream parlor and down the street from the vintage Loring Theater, it's a good place to stop for a drink and a quick bite. I find both to be dependable here. The pastries look absolutely delicious, but they're just not on my current diet :/ There's usually enough seating, but today my companion and I shared a table with another couple--no problem in this friendly little town. I'll definitely be back!

We were wandering around my husband's home town of Hingham and were in need of beverages and a bathroom. We passed Brewed Awakenings and popped inside. It was a fine experience, but nothing remarkable. There's a ton of baked goods and pastries offered here but, having just eaten, we weren't really in the mood for that. My husband was parched so a big bottle of water was called for. I got a very large iced tea. Service was fine, nothing overly friendly or overly unfriendly. Just basic and transactional. Restroom was clean. The dining area is spacious and it holds the benefit of being the one coffee shop that we found right on Main Street so it's convenient in that way, but I wouldn't go out of my way to return.

    Christmas Eve at Brewed Awakenings.

Only tried their hot drinks as we stopped by Christmas Eve. Very pleasant and efficient service. Drinks were very good. Fairly quiet when we were there; I'm sure we did not see it at it's best, as most people were probably out for Christmas. All of our drinks were well-made and reasonably priced. Pastries looked good in the display cases. Does the job. We will come back for another visit.

Very cute coffee shop in Hingham square. You can get a variety of flavored iced teas which is awesome, most recently a mango iced tea. The coffee is also yummy, tends to be on the dark side. They have a ton of pastries, from breakfast muffins to actual cakes. While I have not tried them, they do offer breakfast sandwiches. There are several tables if you want to sit and eat/sip your beverage. Love it.

I moved to the area during COVID, and it can be tough working remotely. I was so glad to find a place I could work at while also being safe. I see them wiping down tables during the day and following safety protocols. The staff is friendly and welcoming and I LOVE the pumpkin mousse squares

    The Leaner

A comfortable dining room is the extent of what's enjoyable at Brewed Awakenings. I ordered The Leaner, a turkey pastrami sandwich "served warm" with melted Swiss and Dijon mustard on toasted sourdough. At least that's how it's billed. What arrived was roast beef - yes, roast beef - on an under-baked French loaf with cold, hard Swiss and plain mustard. I asked if I could get the right protein on my sandwich, to which the teenage staffers replied, "I knew I messed that up. They look alike!" Cool, yo. If your religion forbids the consumption of certain animals, um, lift the lid on your sando. They rectified the situation by simply replacing the beef with pastrami. Same bread and cheese with my initial, confounded bite taken out of it. Aside from that lovely fiasco, the baked goods look freshly unwrapped from a Costco platter. It's got the location and a cozy dining space, however, and I'm sure the coffee drinks are delightful - unfortunately, the menu is an eye chart preventing any understanding of what's in what. Same employee: "Yeah, it's dumb we don't have paper menus. I can read you the descriptions if you want." No, really. I don't want.

This place is such a let down. It has to much potential. It is alway freezing, the pastries are not good and too big and the coffee is meh.

They also offer many different choices of cream cheese: plain, lox, walnut raisin, sun-dried, tomato, and more. The staff is so kind there that if you don't have cash and you only have credit cards they take you at your honor that you'll bring the cash back on your next visit! Who does that ? This happened to me once as well as to my sister. We did bring the cash back. I know not everybody would do that. We certainly learned that we can only bring cash at this point and would not want to put them out. The caliber of people who work there is stellar. My favorite bagel fix is the marble bagel, double toasted with extra olive cream cheese - spectacular! I highly recommend that you try this place if you love bagels and cream cheese. If you don't want something like a breakfast style bagel with cream cheese, they have many sandwich varieties. They have hummus, tunafish, roast beef, chicken salad,, chicken Caesar and much more.

Don't let the small size fool you - it's well worth skipping the starbucks down the street and paying this local spot a visit. I've seen a few people on Yelp complaining about parking, but I've never had an issue. It's a busy intersection, but there's a number of street spots and I think most people don't know about the massive free lot behind the shops across the street, head over there if all the street parking is taken. The coffee itself is top tier. They have a lot of creative signature lattes, I've tried both the Tiramisu and Peanut Butter lattes and loved them equally. I don't usually order that kind of thing because I'm not a fan of overly sweet drinks, but these are perfectly balanced. One of my friends is a bit of a coffee connoisseur and also highly recommends the Yuenyeung Latte. We also recently tried some of their food options, and were really surprised at how good the bagels are here. The double cheese bacon sandwich is a must try, and all of the Croffles (croissant waffles) they serve on the weekend are soooo decadent and soooo tasty. Really happy to have this place right in my own neighborhood. I hear they're adding a larger Hingham location soon too; their success is so well deserved. Definitely slowly becoming a local favorite of mine!

Cool ocean vibes inside, storefront selling surf stuff, beach wear, and lots of seating on main level, downstairs and outside. Everything was delicious, fresh ingredients, can't wait to go back again. The iced tea and maple coffee was excellent, both not too sweet. The avocado toast was amazing, fresh tomatoes etc, on big slices of sourdough. Sandwich of turkey sausage was so flavorful, lots going on all the flavors so good together. Reasonably priced too for the quality and quantity. The churro donut was ok/good, hoped to try something more decadent but they ran out of donuts at that point, only 2 left. My absolute favorite is the Cinnabon, it comes with a cream cheese frosting dollop that is so good! Most recently I got to try the cinnamon coffee roll which is light and airy and has that same frosting which brings it all together. Flavorful and delicious! My friend and I usually get the southwestern sandwich but we add a soft boiled egg to it which brings the whole thing together for a yummy breakfast. I have also had the sausage egg and cheese on their homemade biscuits. Pro tip- ask for the biscuit to be heated it takes your breakfast sandwich go to the next level of goodness! The only reason I knocked a star is because their baked goods sell out so fast that I usually don't get to try any of the specials. I wish they made more to have them last the entire time they're open. I'm also not a coffee drinker and most of the drinks are coffee based so I do wish they had more non coffee drink options that isn't hot tea. Usually this place is packed with people at every table and lines to the door, the food is worth the wait though! Plus they have Louis Tomlinson playing over their radio here and there which earns them a gold star in my book!
