This is my first meal at Brewed--an inspired spinach salad with smoked salmon added. It was perfect--crisp apples, well-dressed spinach, a sprinkling of craisins, slivered almonds. All was fresh and served in generous portions. What I took home will serve as a tasty dinner. My husband's biscuits and gravy sang because of high-quality biscuits. The two sausage patties were equally tasty and of high quality. Half order portions are available as well as the full size breakfast he enjoyed. My kombucha in tap hit the spot, and my husband's brewed coffee was the rich treat I remembered from my previous visit. Same as last time, the service staff is delightful, friendly, and fully present. I can see Brewed becoming my neighborhood cafe on the weekends. Why not five stars? I need to do more research--look for an update in 2-3 months. I predict Brewed will earn an easy 5 stars. Highly recommend. read more

Brewed stands out because it is a cafe AND a pub. It's a cool idea to get your daily stimulant or relaxer in one place. I've been to Brewed Cafe & Pub twice. Once as a cafe to get a latte and once as a pub to have a beer and snack. The pub experience featured stellar chill service and then I headed upstairs to enjoy the WiFi and lounge. However, the coffee order to go was much chillier and the latte wasn't very good. I'll be back to Brewed again when it's convenient in downtown Vancouver ... especially if I'm going to hang out for a while. Terrible experience. Sadly this was my go to spot until I walked in and because I had brought my coffee from the hotel was treated horribly. There's a kind way to say "I'm sorry we don't allow outside drinks" BUT this guy who appears to be the owner was completely rude. First he was passive aggressive and I didn't understand was he was saying and then he just outright said in a very rude and humiliating way that I can't bring that in. I was ordering $15 worth of food and have been there many times. I don't need to pay to have my day ruined. I will never be back. The time before they weren't very nice either. Brewed is the bee's knees. Their coffee is fantastic and they've got a small but good selection of draft beers and always have a cider on tap. They also have a great variety of bottled and canned dranks. Oh! And two kombucha choices on tap as well! And their foooood! Their lunch menu is great and their sandwich "the bomb" is utterly deserving of the name. My biggest go to are their breakfast sammies though. The Ivanov is my favorite sausage and cheese on a bagel with a sweet and spicy mango jam. It's utterly perfect. And they all ring in at five or six bucks. It's the best place to go when you still haven't gotten any sleep by seven in the morning and want to get a bloody or caffeine fix and a mess of pastries. Some coworkers and I stopped here for breakfast several times on a recent trip to the 'Couve; this place is so fun and friendly and comfortable that it really does invite repeat visits. A highlight here is the feeling of welcome and community you get from the guys who work here. Two of them are father and son (they are spitting images of each other), and they are among the nicest, happiest, most outgoing, most talkative, most caffeinated people on this or any other planet. They're both great. You know the old saw, "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all"; well, they have the exact opposite saw: "if you have something nice to say, then go ahead and say lots and lots." It's pretty cool and it adds to the morning boost you get from whatever hot beverage you're drinking. They offer a full array of coffee, teas from Steven Smith Teamaker (yay!), and a pretty simple but appealing breakfast menu. I had the same thing each time (Lord Bergamot tea and a veggie scramble bowl thing) and enjoyed it very much--fresh, tasty, visually pleasing and not too filling. I love this place. The decor is cute and they have donuts. Donuts, amazing coffee and it's surrounded by Poke stops which is important since Gen 2 characters appeared yesterday. I managed to have an expertly crafted macchiato with a maple glazed donut, charged my iPhone for the 2nd time today and caught roughly 50 characters in less than 30 minutes.
