I honestly can't see why to not give Brewed 5/5 stars. What a find! I stopped here for lunch today and right when I walked in I was very enthusiastically and genuinely welcomed by the owner. I started off by ordering a Breakside I.S.A., one of the four great beers they have on draft. They also have a bunch of bottled beer, coffee drinks and sodas. The inside is very crisp and welcoming. I chose to sit outside to have lunch at one of their 2 outdoor tables (score!). For lunch I ordered a grilled "caprese-ish" sandwich; artichoke, tomato, balsamic, mozzarella, pesto and spinach on sourdough. YUM!!! This sandwich is just too good. I got a cup of house made clam chowder on the side that you can tell was made fresh this morning with top quality ingredients. The menu is diverse and it all looked just great. Brewed is by far the best local coffee shop in Vancouver! Nowhere else can you get cheap coffee and food, beer on tap, friendly service, and a cool atmosphere to hang out at. The moment you walk in, you're greeted by the friendliest staff ever. You will literally be their new best friend for the duration of your visit. Your new best friend will cheerfully tell you how their day is going, what food is available, what their favorite coffee is, how Mom is doing, what beers are on tap, what their favorite animal is, and other important details that you must know now that you're BFF. As far as prices go, your BFF is gonna give you an awesome deal. The prices are actually pretty unbelievable. The coffee drinks are at least a dollar cheaper than what you'd pay at the brand name coffee shops. Breakfast food is less than five bucks. The food is simple but delicious.You can get homemade soups made by their mom (I think) and sandwiches for a steal. Waffles with whipped cream and fresh fruit is also available on the weekends but you have to get there early. They also have a good assortment of organic and alternative sweeteners for your drinks like stevia, coconut sugar, organic honey, etc. for no extra charge. We just had the most delightful experience at Brewed. We arrived at 2:50 on a Sunday afternoon only to discover they closed at 3pm. We were so disappointed because we were flying out the next morning. The kind owners of the shop graciously offered to serve us anyway. And, boy are we glad they did! This family owned and run business served us some of the most delicious grilled cheese sandwiches we've ever eaten. The Chipotle grilled sandwich was toasted to perfection. The seasoning was amazing. The other sandwich consisted of tons of cheese, artichokes, spinach, pesto, tomatoes and I'm not sure what else, but it was fabulous! I'm pretty excited about this local place. I bought a round of lattes & lunch at this place. It's got a great atmosphere, delicious coffee, and the baristas were really passionate about their jobs. I ordered the spicy mango sand and it was sinfully good. My aunt and cousin also loved the taste. I did feel like I needed to work out after eating this sandwich with chips. My espresso was delicious and perfectly prepared. I tasted my cousin's latte and it was tremendous. I always thought this was more of a beer place, which they certainly have as a focus, but they could also be considered a coffee spot based on their technique. Is the name, brewed, a pun? The location and feel of this place is very comfortable. I've never been here during beer hours but that will change soon. Starving after our flight, we were looking for something quick and easy. Looking at Yelp sent me to Brewed. (Side note: Parking in Vancouver is interesting to say the least. Color coding the meters, four spots in a row with all different max times? Weird.) We walk in to a fabulous food and drink menu, with a friendly man behind the counter. (Who also thinks the parking is weird, btw.) He tells us the whole place in family run, with mom in the kitchen. I love this. We sit outside with our teas and soon after our amazing paninis. Brewed is an adorable place to stop for a quick coffee, a place to sit down and eat or to grab a drink while watching a soccer game. Walking in, it seems on the smaller side but don't worry, there's a wonderful spot to perch among the plants above. The baristas/servers were the friendliest people I've ever met and were helpful our entire stay (not to mention the other patrons! I think we're all ready to talk to strangers at this point, no?). Absolutely fantastic. What a wonderful surprise of a location in Downtown Vancouver. The two people that helped us today were quite friendly and quick to answer any questions we had. The menu was full without being too much and contained a bevy of fantastic sandwiches (I had the Chipotle Chicken sandwich) and wonderful soup (loaded baked potato for the win). They have four rotating beer taps to choose from as well as a fine limited cocktail selection(can you say Bloody Mary?). Slowly gone are the days where you would have to go into NE PDX to have such a wonderful experience. The decor and ambiance is spot on, very casual and great for your family. Local microbrews (not the usual ones either) on-tap for a normal $3.25? That's less than other places charge on happy hour! This place has a great vibe. It's not too uncommon to see several generations of family members working at this newer hidden gem in downtown Vancouver. They roast their own coffee beans in-house and serve fantastic espresso and press coffee at prices that are far, far less than anywhere you'll find. The tea and italian sodas and smoothies are all locally sourced and hand-prepped too. Now, before you go thinking that it's just another cafe with snooty practices, it's not. The people are really chill and earnest in their service. But this isn't even the best part. Getting back to the beginning: fantastic beer at great prices and wine too. Seriously, they make everyone else look like they're simply charging more because you don't know any better. The bar is made of reclaimed wood from pallets and there is a killer loft area to sit too. Otherwise, just sit at the bar downstairs and watch the game on the one TV. Here's to hoping Vancouver will give them the permits to serve adult beverages on the sidewalk soon! read more

The owner is one of the friendliest people you'll ever meet, they make the best breakfast sandwich in town, and it's less than $5. There are a few good coffee houses around but Brewed combines all the best aspects of the languid coffee shop conde and mixes then with actual food, and beverages. Was excited to finally try this place. Came at night and there was a football game on with 6 men screaming and cussing for 2 hours straight. Asked them if they could be a little quieter as I was studying. No response & the barista dude didn't say anything to them one time. The men wouldn't stop banging on tables and screaming the f word. Everyone around me left immediately. The tall skinny Barista dude with short hair wearing a beanie was working very rude and not friendly by any means. As I was ordering he kept looking behind him at the football game while I was talking. Very disappointed with this place and the staff.
