THIS place: everything on the menu was vegan, almost all of it was made in-house, and all of it recreated favorite dishes with plant-based ingredients -- wow! I used to love Reuben sandwiches, and theirs was really remarkably good, by any standards! Instead of the chips that came with my sandwich (their chips are really good corn tortilla chips), I upgraded to a light summer cucumber salad, with cherry tomatoes and onions in a creamy dill dressing. Cleaned my plate -- everything was delicious. They even had homemade mango lassis, which I couldn't refuse. Tasted like rich mango nectar. Tasty! Service is at the counter, although they bring your order out to you. Ambience is clean, tidy and cool -- simple diner decor, with a tiny private side patio that let us enjoy the fine day, but was a bit noisy with loud cars roaring past. I'm so glad I discovered this place! I'm definitely returning. And they do take-out too, for those days I'm too busy to cook a from-scratch meal...

When I go back, I would not get the hibachi again though. The only reason is it is so similar to something I make for myself at home. I should have tried something different. The wings were good. I ate a few there and brought the rest home and warmed them in the air fryer later in the evening. They warmed up nicely. The hibachi heated up well too. It made a nice breakfast this morning!

I've been eating here consistently for quite some time and I am thoroughly pleased each and every time. The owners and staff are so genuine and inviting. The food is delicious and comforting. The atmosphere is cozy and upscale. They are now doing fine dining. This is a first for Indy and I love that they are pushing forward in this space. My friend and I went on opening night and we shared the calamari. For my main dish I ordered the steak filet which came with truffle mashed potatoes, asparagus and cranberry sauce. My friend had the house made fettuccine. When I tell you it was all so delicious. It took a little more time, but that has to be expected in fine dining anyway. But the big wow is, they are making the pasta by hand prior to making the dish. That's truly outstanding. It truly elevates the dish. Everything we had was so flavorful. When I heard cranberry sauce I was like, hmm how is this gonna work?? Oh it worked! It paired so well with the rest of the dish. For desert we had the leaving the nest which was chocolate ganache on a nest of chocolate with a hand made chocolate cookie. Me nor my friend like chocolate much, but the quality and flavor of this desert was one that I could enjoy again. I will definitely be back and I suggest the same for you. Very proud of this establishment. They are resilient and brilliant and they truly care about their customers and their business. Much love.

Driving through…read morehere, you see the blight and the abandonment of this area of Indianapolis since the decline of manufacturing. Then again, it's not an uncommon story unfortunately- large parts of the city forgotten in terms of economic development but then suddenly needed during times of campaigning. Had taken Keystone and then Rural Street to get here, and the potholes are not kind. But, we had this place on our list and were determined to make it here at least once. Tlaolli stood out for its vegan offerings. Plenty of vegan taco options, birria (an absolute rarity to see vegan birria), and torta. They offer soy chorizo, jackfruit, and king oyster mushrooms as protein options. The exterior is colorful, and inside there are seating options. We had gotten our food to go, so I cannot comment too much on the service. Had placed our order online, and the food was ready within the estimated time in the order. We ordered the vegan birria tacos ($17.99), the vegan torta ($10.99 base but added soy chorizo, which was $3.99), and the no-no-no taco ($5.99). Our total with fees was approximately $45. Tlaolli offers outdoor seating, so when the weather is nicer this would be a good place to come. Next to the East Washington IPL branch, Tlaolli has a colorful green exterior with neon signage. Food: The food was very good. The proteins were nicely seasoned and juicy. The highlight for me was the birria tacos and the consome. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it. 10/10. This is a great local business in the area to support: offers a diverse menu of options with food that is comforting and tasty.

The staff, drinks, food, music and overall atmosphere are consistently exceptional. The cocktail menu is fantastic. My personal favorite is the painkiller - a delicious blend of coconut, rum, orange, pineapple, and nutmeg. It's served in a skull glass and tastes absolutely perfect. I also appreciate that they make their noodles in house! Have you ever had a meal you can't stop thinking about? That's exactly how I feel about the shoyu ramen. It features their noodles, truffle zest, pork belly, egg, veggies and chicken in a deeply flavorful broth. Order a side of rice and dip it into the broth and thank me later! Patio seating available.

We came in on a Friday night at 6:30 with no reservation, and had to wait ~5 minutes for a table of two. We were sat at a high top at the bar, which we appreciated. Our server greeted us quickly, and checked in a few times throughout the night. Service was average, nothing spectacular but nothing to complain about. I had a hurricane to start off. Packed full of the good stuff, and one was definitely enough for the night. Appropriate price for what you get. This drink is what brought my review from a 2 for the food to a 3 in total. We started off with pork Bao buns. The bun was spongy, but somewhat dry. The pork lacked any sort of flavor, and the sauce on it didn't do much for me. The next part of the meal was the most disappointing for me: the curry chicken wings. Let me tell you- I was excited for these. These lacked any sort of flavor at all, and the only thing saving it was the ranch. The wings had a good crisp, but the sauce was lacking taste. I had the Shoyu ramen for my main. It was a pretty average bowl of ramen, but for the price, I expected more. The pork in it was flavorful, but the chicken in it was odd in my opinion with an unexpected herby flavor. Overall, service was average (but we appreciated getting sat fast), drinks were strong (and saved the meal) and the food was average. Would go if invited by a friend, but probably would not return on my own.

Starting off - I was really glad I snagged a reservation because when we arrived there was a line waiting for them to open. We were seated quickly, and our service was really efficient. The drinks were unique, but tasty. We ordered the crab puffs because that's my favorite at any Thai restaurant. They came out in under 5 minutes, and were piping hot. They were good! For my main I ordered the steak drunken noodles and they were so so so good. I couldn't finish it all because the portion was so large, but you better believe it was just as good cold later that night. I would definitely be back. My husband ordered the chili & basil pork and he cleaned his plate - so I'd say it was good. Because it's a popular spot, there is a time limit on your dining experience. If you're wanting to relax and hang out - probably not the spot. The food is SO good though, so I'd still grab dinner here, then head to a cocktail bar to hang out

We had a reservation and waited a little while after arriving, but once seated outside on the patio, we really enjoyed our dinner. Our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful with our selections. We even ordered a platter from the special Epicurean Local Menu, which was a great addition to the meal. Unfortunately, the way the evening ended completely changed our impression of the experience. We had finished our meal, had already told our waiter that we did not want dessert, and were essentially ready to leave when a gentleman approached our table specifically to tell us that we had 15 minutes remaining. It was unnecessary and made us feel as though we were being pushed out when we weren't lingering or preventing the staff from turning the table. I mentioned this on my way out and was told that guests are informed they have 90 minutes to dine. We don't recall having that explained to us, but more importantly, I don't think that should be the defining experience at a restaurant positioning itself as a higher-quality dining destination. There are much more gracious ways to manage table timing, particularly when the guests have already finished their meal and indicated they aren't ordering anything else. We were also celebrating our daughter's birthday and specifically mentioned it to the host when we were seated. Unfortunately, there was no acknowledgment of her birthday during dinner, which was another missed opportunity to make the evening memorable. It's disappointing because the food, drinks, patio, and our waiter were all excellent. We were prepared to leave thinking we'd had a 5-star dinner. Instead, the final interaction made a wonderful evening feel transactional and turned what would have been a 5-star review into a 3-star experience. A restaurant can serve outstanding food, but the way guests are made to feel is part of the experience too.
