So let's start by walking in the door, no one was there to greet us no one in site period mind you it's 6:30pm this evening there's about 3-4 tables so they're not busy, i get seated, no menus are given!! I get ask what I would like to drink still no menu! We finally ask for a menu mind you there's 2 of us we're given 1. Cool so now we're waiting for our drinks and they come and well let's just say we ended up wearing the drinks because the waitress wasted the drinks on us as she walked up to the table! Yes she apologized but keep in mind we're wearing white shirts with now Dr Pepper splats all over us, she ask us to move to another table while the soda is dripping off the table unto the booth seats which means if we slide it it's going to be all over our pants! Thos place caught my eye with its name... BreWingz. Clever way to combine the two. 1. The place is very clean and spacious. They really placed their tables apart enough to not be on top of each other. The men's restroom has a changing table... which came in handy for changing my son. #Yay. There are plenty of TVs and projector screens here. Music is a variety, but kid-friendly. 2. The staff is very nice. Amanda took really good care of me. She even labeled each of my dipping sauces for me. That may be standard for this place, but it isn't at other similar establishments. 3. The food... well, the only thing I can say negative is the Garlic Parmesan sauce wasn't up to par for me. Everything else was on-point! The wings, while not as "XL" as I was expecting, they were crispy and fresh. (I ordered them naked) With that, I requested 4 different sauces: Garlic Parm, Medium, Cajun, and Hot. The Medium was mild, to me. But the Cajun and Hot were about equal in 'kick'. But they were #DELISH! While the Hot was all fire, the Cajun added some tanginess to its heat. Loved it! The curly fries were fresh and hot. (My son loved them) And the Crown & Coke was poured well. I really hope they bring one of these places to Austin. Ate my whole meal with no drink couldn't get the water i ordered until my food was gone. If I was to treat my customers this way I wouldn't have any business at my company at all. Hopefully management will help to correct this issues but probably not since they walked by numerous times as we are sitting waiting for service. I can say that I finally made my way to this location off of the East Fwy. I had been trying to come visit for months! I was signed up to attend a Yelp Elite event here, but it was cancelled and rescheduled due to the buildout so many times I lost count. I ended up going to what I thought was the YE event, and learned that it was yet again cancelled. The manager onsite was so helpful and generous that he gave me a coupon to come back once the restaurant was complete. Soooo.....I finally made my way back during the NBA Finals to catch a game and try some of their wings that I hear so much about. The restaurant is pretty big and open, with the standard 4-chaired, wooden square table. There were even 2 big screen tv's at the entrance, so you can watch while you wait to be seated. They have a few small booths along the windows that could seat maybe 2 adults or 3 kids per side of the table. I ended up going around 9pm and the place was full! Luckily, they have additional seating on the outdoor patio, so I was able to get in with no wait or issues. My party consisted of 2 Adults and 3 Kids, so I'm not even sure if we could've fit at the smaller indoor tables due to it being 5 in our party. They do have a few high tables near the bar area, but those had 4 seats as well. The wings were good. My waitress was pretty helpful, I originally ordered mild but she recommended medium. She stated the mild were just butter and the medium would actually have a taste. So to test it out, I ordered the mild and got the medium sauce on the side. She was absolutely right. The wings were on the smaller side, but I did see where they offer breaded XL wings if you want to go bigger. Everything was served hot and fresh. We also added fries to the wing order, as well as ordered tenders and a cheeseburger from the kids' menu. No complaints from the little ones and the portions were perfect. To drink, I ordered the Skittles after a recommendation from someone at the bar. I've had a drink by the same name elsewhere a few places, but this was probably different. The Skittles I am familiar with is a strong mixture of Ciroc vodkas with cranberry and pineapple juice. The one I received here was a frozen daiquiri-type drink. It was delicious (I love sweet drinks), but the alcohol was very faint. I ended up ordering another Skittles immediately after the first and ignored the calories that I gained by drinking another slushie. I usually order 1 drink when I'm dining out, so this was a concern for me. The 2nd drink was just as faint, if not weaker, than the 1st. So my husband ended up trying another drink on the menu, it was called The Hamptons. More on the bitter side (like grapefruit), it was refreshing but the alcohol content was the same. I think I'm going to ask for a Long Island next time, you can't go wrong with that! Or I would request topshelf liquor or a shot on the side if I chose the same drinks again. They have many specials through the week. I went on a Thursday night, which featured $9.99 boneless wings and $0.99 cent draft beer. Unfortunately, I don't eat or drink neither so I can't comment on the taste of the specials for that night. Good deal though! I'd go back to try other menu items. So far, so good. I enjoyed my first time, I just was more sober than I would've liked lol. **Update - I went again just to have a drink late night. I ended up at the restaurant about an hour before closing and sat at the bar. I was completely ignored by the female bartender, but thankfully there was a nice gentleman (I didn't catch his name, sorry!) and he took my drink order and even told me I could still order some food. I ordered a Long Island and got some wings to-go. He really made a STRONG drink! I had less than 30 mins left after waiting on the female bartender, so he wanted to make sure I didn't need a 2nd drink due to the time. Needless to say, he was tipped well and saved me from dropping another star on my review. I like the location since there's not much on this side of town in regards to nightly entertainment, but the workers are a bit lazy IMO of 2 visits. Our party got here today at 6 o'clock. We did get advised that they were short staffed but we agreed to wait. Parties that sat after us got their food first so we asked out waitress after an hour and a half and the waitress said, "I'll asked my manager and she said that we're going to start on your food now." Really? After an hour and a half, and other tables have gotten their food before us? I believe they never put in our order. Anyways fast forward, service was extremely terrible. black guy with beard and glasses short. Server could not read his little iPad. And he was overwhelmed with orders. He did his best. The Kitchen did not cook 4 complete orders. So ppl was left w/o food. Watermelon Margaritas was (cherry tasting). Server was not writing down things so he kept forgetting everyone's items. Food was terrible. Cold, sloppy, and not cooked to perfection chicken was over cooked dry and not juicy. Don't get the lemon pepper because it's literally dried fried chicken with Walmart lemon pepp shaker seasoning. Items were not given when asked. Oh the 4 ppl who didn't get their food got it at the end as we were leaving and got it boxed up, server did get that comp'd for us. She snatched a credit card and threw a receipt because she could not take the harsh criticism of paying customer. BREWINGS: That (manager) needs to be fired 2. you need to take a look at your staff. Bring everyone in on a retraining On a non essential day and get back to the basics! Cooks need to learn how to fry food. Most of your food is fried and they over cook it. Sauces were tasty but with dry wings and food, it doesn't make it appetizing. Oh also check your wings that are in the freezer they tasted like freezer. 3. Bartender or drink makers have a index card for you mixed drinks. And make them accordingly and not "wing it"! Place has potential but with different management and more competent employees. If you have a big party use 2 servers! Your split the check idea on one ticket toss that idea in the trash. No need to maximize gratuity. You can still do gratuity on the tickets.
