This is a great dive bar/sports bar in downtown Downers Grove. There are a TON of TVs showing all the big games of the day, and a pretty decent selection of beer on tap and in cans/bottles. They also have rail drinks & wine, but beer or a simple cocktail like a rum & coke are my move here. A solid just ok place. I have been here several times. It's good for groups and tends to be very loud as it's a sports bar with TVs everywhere. From bowling to football to baseball to basketball. College and pro sports. Decent size food and drink menu. Service tends to be very slow here. Typical bar food offerings. If you want to chill with a group and are not in a rush, good spot for that. Another Round is a large space, lots of seating other than the bar, with a kitchen that also stays open later. Sometimes their service suffers a little if you're not at the bar and waiting for a server at one of the remote tables, but every server is super friendly. The two waitresses lied and said it was against the law to have a double shot with pickle juice on the side, I asked two employees and Samantha & they all continued to give false information as well as lie stating I insulted the employees, because I questioned their knowledge on Illinois statue on law, when Samantha got annoyed because I asked for the owners information she said she was the owner. After that I called on the 28th which is two days after incident for the owners Joseph & Johnathan Nagy, the staff immediately hangs up after taking my info not giving me any information on when they will contact or how I can contact. I generally like this place. Sadly, all the draft beer is flat...like water. When served, it has a little head, but after a few minutes, not a bubble to be seen. It sucks to pay $8+ for a nice craft or import, only to have it be flat. For whatever reason, they no longer have paper towels in the bathrooms. So, the sink ends up covered in water and suds. It's a total mess...WTF!!! There is one dryer, so if several people are using the bathroom, you end up standing there with wet hands. I went the other night for the first time & ordered the chipotle chicken wrap is delicious and they have a ton of beer & drink options. Sad to say but its no longer a place to go for a quick bite, especially on Sundays when football is on. I took my girls in at 1:15 to sit, have a drink and get take out to bring home and it took an hour. We sat for 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged we were there. We have been coming here since 2016 but this may have been our last trip. We ordered buffalo wings and we got dry rubbed wings. The grilled chicken salad was fried chicken and the rest of the food seemed like it sat for too long. I think since Jessica A stopped working there it went down hill. We were looking for a late night place to get food. Our day went longer than anticipated so found this spot when looking for a place close to our hotel in Downers Grove. Came across this spot. Now I walk into the place and it was not clear where to go to pick up delivery. There was no clear areas at the bar to stand either because it was so crowded. I guess covid is gone now . The service was pretty bad. The people that worked there either just looked at me wandering or even tried to walk past me with no assistance. I ended up stopping a guy to tell me where to go for my to go order. After that, the pick up went pretty smoothly. My food was already packed up. Was even able to get an LIT to go. The food was correct. I got the pot roast sliders, sweet potato fries, and double steamed broccoli. My friend got the pot roast sliders, hamburger sliders and target tots with cheese. Went here on a Friday and had a great time. Once the bill came there was an extra charge on it so our party assumed it was gratuity so we tipped a little extra on top of that. Our server, Natalie N, came back and was very mad about her tip. We apologized and told her we assumed that extra charge on the bill was gratuity. Visited Another Round for a Christmas Party. The place is huge and it's pretty great. Drinks and food are pretty high but I wasn't disappointed! They had hard cider and sangrias which are greatly appreciated. The farm burger is definitely one outstanding burger itself. Waiter was pretty slow, then again it was Friday night but it was much faster going to the bar to get drinks than waiting. They had great specials. Maria the server was nice, checked back with us a lot, food came hot and was good. My only criticism was that the entire front windows and glass doors were filthy with winter smudge all over. IF I was the one n site manager , I'd make sure the front of my restaurant was neat and clean , especially the dirty filthy windows which are actually full size folding glass doors. If Downtown Downers Grove had a frat house, Another Round would definitely be it. (ok- maybe much cleaner than a frat house, but you get my point). During the day it's pretty tame in there, but at night it's definitely the freshly turned 21 year old crowd + anyone looking to seriously drink. During any sporting event, this is your place to be because you'll have other people screaming at the TV with you. Food is decent. I always go with a wrap or the mini sliders. The bartender Lupe was super rude. I was visiting for fall break and I think he assumed my ID was fake because he treated me very differently than the other customers. I am 22 years old to clarify. He wouldn't let me order more than one drink at a time and I have never heard that rule anywhere else so I know he made it up out of spite. Popped in here Sunday to watch the Bears while our son was at baseball practice. Confused when we walked in because there was no one to greet us so we grabbed a beer menu from the waitress stand and took a seat. This place is veryvery kind and nice servers are there all day most times of the week... I have been in here many times and never had a problem other than problemwith how great my meal was!!!! I am a 33 year old man and I have a very thick mustache and braces and I wear tank tops and sometimes i have my hiking boots on because i take really long walks and they are often in a lot of mud. Many people look at me and make fun. Never once at ANOTHER ROUND BAR and GRILL has anyone looked at me funny or been mean or even said something rude to me which I love and feel accepted maybe even more than at home with my mother and cousin. I was going to round up and go a 4, but to be honest, the food was a solid 3.4 and the 30 minutes it took to between receiving the check and getting it back to sign left my entire group more than a little nonplussed. Everything took sooo long to come out, and and by the time our server checked on us were already ready to to skedaddle. The appetizers are all heavily fried and pretty sub-par and though my spicy shrimp tacos were genuinely pretty solid, the 99 cent extra charge for dried out, hard-as-a-hammer tots was not justifiable. As with most menus based upon the presence of a fryer in the restaurant, we all left feeling heavy, tired, and annoyed that we had to wait so incredibly long for our food, drinks, checks, and server. So when the hubby and I found ourselves in downtown Downers Grove right before the Blackhawks played the Calgary Flames, we dropped in again. Good decision! This place is the quintessential sports bar! A billion big-screen TVs, plenty of seating (with fold-out walls to open up other areas when the place gets crowded and an outdoor patio for nice weather,) a surprisingly good menu (great spicy shrimp tacos), and a friendly, attentive waitress named Melissa who actually knew and liked good beer! Speaking of the beer list here, the selection is not very large and it consists of a lot of crappy beers because most sports fans don't know what good beer is. However, this place is smart enough to also carry some premium brews like Guinness and Sam Adams, and a few selections from craft breweries like Two Brothers. So there's something for everyone. My husband had them mix up a "Black and Bock" - a mixture of Guinness and Shiner Bock. We had no wait for a table or service, but this was on a Tuesday night. It's probably a different story on week-ends when it's packed. And yes, they did blow the fog horn (and played "Chelsea Dagger") whenever the Hawks scored! read more

This is a nice, big bar, good for groups. I love all of the TV's they have for watching NFL or the Hawks. There's not a bad seat in the house. Drink specials are okay. When I went last Sunday, they had Bloody Marys for $5.50. I ordered boneless wings for $9.95. When they came out, there were 10 small wings- that's $1 per wing! When I told the bartender I was dissappointed, he rectified it and brought out a new, bigger order. Great customer service to make me a happy camper! On a Friday, it was pretty packed and there are a lot of big parties hanging out and enjoying all the big screen TVs around the bars. There are lots of tables and chairs for you to easily assemble a big party. The waitress was very attentive even though it was a busy night. For four drinks (3 mixed drinks and a beer), we paid a total of $27 after tax and tip. I really enjoyed the moscow mule drink that came in the copper tin cup. My date's manhattan was pretty strong! My friend and I went here for the first time the other night. Holy smokes! I swear, our bartender's biceps were the same size as his head! So, either he had a really tiny head, or really gigantic biceps! I couldn't tell which anymore after looking at him for too long. Besides having massive biceps (or possibly a tiny head), he was also a great bartender! My friend and I were ordering really obscure mixtures of things, and he went along with all of them! He humored us all the way : ) Anyway. This place was a blast. There was a blackhawks game on and the place was packed with crazy blackhawks fans. It was so much fun! Came here this past weekend with kids . Waited 15 minutes for drinks . Watched the owner walk past 5 times with his son and nada . I think it's the Nagy family and they used to own the now Defunct Roundheads in 63rd. Probably the most impersonal bar / restaurant family in town . They never walk the tables , say hello or check on your service . Which is bad .
