Do you want to shave off 200 years and experience what it is like to live in a dwelling that old? I…read moretell you what, I could just hang out in the house for a day and read about it's history on the walls, spend an hour or two in their grove, peer over your shoulder at that 100+ yo oak tree and think damn... Horse and buggy used to go down this road???!!!! I found out what the difference is between an inn and a bed and breakfast. The owners, Brian and Charlie (AMAZING INN-KEEPERS!!), have captured what it is like, to be visiting the Cape, and resting a day or two before continuing the journey towards the horn. I could go on, but please... Spend a day or two on the Cape and relax in their authentic, and super quirky Inn. You will not be disappointed!

Brian chooses the best, sweetest, largest strawberries available and dips them in homemade chocolate sauce (not hardshell candy). They are served with small plates, forks, and cloth napkins. A heavenly touch to an already wonderful night's stay. ***** This was our 5th visit to the Old Manse Inn. I've written positive reviews before, but I wanted to write an update to point out that the Innkeepers are constantly improving the inn - making each subsequent visit special. I've been to other inns and hotels, and noticed how they can stagnate - but not so, with the Old Manse Inn. Refreshed rooms and baths, updated linens and furnishings. And they have added living quarters for seasonal staff - a bonus on the Cape! The staff are always thoughtfully interviewed before hiring - and they are friendly and meticulous in their work. You can see they are loyal to the inn and the inn's clients. Breakfast is especially wonderful, given my wheat allergy - there are always options.

I'd also add that I've never in all my years stayed at such an immaculate inn. The bedding was exceptional and after composing this review I will make my way over to the Sonoma Wool Company website (what Amy does in her spare time-LOL) to order the luxurious wool pillows we were lucky enough to sleep on. Breakfast is a delicious daily treat, which we were fortunate enough to have each morning poolside, amid the gorgeous gardens on the inn's grounds.

The bedroom features an oversized California King bed, a desk and chair, television and lounge chair with ottoman. Beautiful French double doors lead to one of the loveliest features of the room which is a private deck with chairs. The living room has a delightful fireplace, comfortable sofa and another television. There is also a tastefuly done little kitchenette which was stocked with dishes and glassware as well as a mini fridge. And off the living room is the attractive bathroom stocked with toiletries and comfortable robes. Right outside our room was a Flavia coffee and tea maker as well as another refrigerator with complimentary creamer, soda and bottled water. The table in our bedroom also had a complimentary decanter of sherry and two scrumptious chocolate truffles were left on our pillows each evening. Although most of the inn's rooms are in a separate building a few steps away, breakfast is served each morning in the main house and in the company of Harrison, the inn's resident and well behaved Labradoodle. An afternoon sweet treat of cake or cookies is also provided in the main house and there's always a bowl of chocolates if you need a sweet to tide you over. We had the bad luck to not have the inn-keepers, Donna and Byron, in residence during most of our stay as they'd suffered a death in the family and were out of state. However, they'd left clear instruction with their staff about our arrival and we were warmly greeted and welcomed. During our stay, the staff was quick to answer questions about the area and to provide restaurant recommendations. The room itself also contained a lot of information about local attractions and restaurants. The night before our last day we came back to our room to find a complimentary bottle of champagne and note from the innkeepers with their sincere regrets for having been away during our stay. That was a very nice touch and was greatly appreciated. On the down side, we actually didn't think much of the breakfasts as they were largely flavorless and frequently included microwaved bacon. We wondered if the food suffered due to Donna's absence because she was billed as the cook. Both Donna and Byron were back on our last morning and it was Donna who prepared our breakfast that day. The food did improve under her stewardship but we'd still say it compared poorly to other B&B's we've visited. Our room, though lovely, did have some oddities. All the plumbing fixtures were installed backwards so that all handles turned in an atypical direction and the shower pipe was loose which restricted some of the water pressure. The impression was that the work had not been professionally done. In the bedroom, the bed was oddly situated with one side far too close to the wall despite more than ample room on the other side. It made it uncomfortable for the person sleeping on that side to get in and out of bed. Finally, we do have somewhat of a pet peeve with inn-keepers who advertise suites, which should be two separate rooms divided by a door, even though the room does not meet that criteria. In this case, the only separation between the bedroom and living room was a screen. Nevertheless, the inn was quite nice and Donna and Byron were charming hosts who had trained their staff well. Brewster is located mid-Cape and convenient for day trips to Hyannis and Provincetown which makes this a good choice for a place to stay and there are some lovely beaches right by the inn. Overall we enjoyed our stay on Cape Cod very much.

Comfortable, clean, charming, and all in a great location. The Inn staff were extremely kind and accommodating. They explained everything we would need to know and were easy to communicate with via text. When you walk into your room, you are welcomed with a personalized card and box of chocolates from a local chocolate shop (it's really good chocolate too). The breakfast every morning was in 3 courses: a bundt cake, a fruit, and then the entree. They were very accommodating with my husband's food allergies. They tend to stay away from nuts in their dishes. Rooms were freshened up every day. The Inn is a great location to be in- there are many things to do in the area. Easy drive to Provincetown, Brewster, Coast Guard Beach, and Nauset Light House (the Cape Cod chips lighthouse haha). About an hour to get to Falmouth if you wanna go to Martha's Vineyard. We enjoyed that hour ride to go through different towns. I would 100% recommend this Inn to anyone coming to Cape Cod!

Since…read moreit was a private retreat, we had our own chef (lobster dinner!) and meals provided by a local chef. There were seven of us and each of us had our own bedroom and private bath in the remodeled bed and breakfast inn. The Sea Meadow Inn was the home of Captain Isaiah Clark, built around 1783 on Route 6A, the Old King's Highway, in the town of Brewster which was often called the Sea Captains Town since so many built homes there. Now it is a bed and breakfast and each of the seven rooms has its own personality. I slept in the Jeremiah room, which was the room of Captain Clark's son Jeremiah, who scrawled his name on the attic door, and the name is still visible on the attic door! There is a large kitchen and sitting room in which we all gathered, as well a patio, a huge lawn with chairs, as well as a fire pit. I was there in October, but remnants of flowers were abundant in the gardens surrounding the house. The house has the floors, fireplaces, and nostalgia of an earlier era, but the private bathrooms and bedrooms are all nicely furnished. It's a magical place and I highly recommend it if you are looking for a place to stay in Cape Cod.

I couldn't be happier with how high end the decor was. The grounds offered a beautiful appointed swimming pool, plus an area for evening fire pit fun. I never found the goats unfortunately but I'm sure next time hopefully I will get to know them. Overall, our accommodations were 5 star quality. The bedding was as comfortable as any 5 star hotel I've stayed at. Located on 6A , a beautiful route with the best experience of old cape cod homes and scenery. Ice cream shoppes, clam shacks, antique shops and shopping for cape cod artifacts were noted flanking both sides of the route for tourists. A continental breakfast was served in a picnic basket was an added touch. Muffins, yogurt, cereal were served on a sunny patio or bring your basket to your room. For me I was very pleased with the hospitality offered by Phil, very easy check in and check out. Better yet we went to a very famous breakfast restaurant on the cape called Grumpy's which is across the street from the Hotel. However, Due to lack of Parking at Grumpy's, Phil allowed us to park on site despite that we had checked out. Very kindly indeed. This is a family friendly spot that will offer everything necessary for a comfortable time while visiting Cape Cod. I'd give it 5 stars .
