My history with Dr Kaser of Brewster Vet spans 22 years, and I wouldn't go anywhere else. He took exquisite care of my last two dogs, Jett and Ernie, even coming to my home on Father's Day when it was time for Jett to cross the Rainbow Bridge. My current dog, Teddy, experiences high anxiety at the vet's, but he trusts and behaves (as well as he can; he's a min pin) for Dr. Kaser. This is a vet who truly cares for his patients and their parents, who spends time explaining everything, and never makes you feel like you are taking too much of his time. With a variety of his own pets and an all-encompassing capacity for understanding our feelings as pet owners, he truly empathizes with us. Add to that an excellent office manager in Sharon, along with techs who follow up with phone calls after every office visit, and you have a veterinary hospital that has earned and retained my loyalty over these many years. read more

Our cat has an eye infection, and we understand that we went on a Sunday. But we waited for over 1.5 hours and were patient. We saw other clients that came after us going in. I went to the front desk and I asked when our cat would be seen. They said another 45 minutes unless other stat patients come in. I let them know we are leaving. But then we would have to add another 20 to wait in the room, 15 for the actual visit and then another 10 to pay. Why bother going. I guess an eye infection is nothing to worry about. So I will let my cat heal on her own. You know it doesn't take that long to check the cat out, prescribe antibiotics. I was hoping to give my cat an injection as giving meds other ways are very difficult. My poor cat pissed on herself on the way there and still has the eye infection. If I only could get the antibiotics myself. I would have treated her already. read more

Love this practice!! The entire staff is warm, caring and very responsive. The veterinarians are excellent and gentle with our rescue dog, who is very skittish. This is a locally owned practice, which is rare (most have been bought by large corporations). They always follow up with a phonecall to make sure Charlie is okay after her visit. read more

My cat, Kleine, was throwing up and not eating, so I brought her to see Dr. Colleen Barrett. Colleen was nice, and examined Kleine, and suggested xrays and blood work. I agreed, and departed. The office then called and said that Kleine would need to be sedated for the x-rays, which would cost more money. I agreed. When I returned to pick Kleine, a technician (not the veterinarian) discussed the course of action. I had questions, so, the tech had to depart the conversation a few times to ask the veterinarian for advice. Then, Billie, the office manager came in and said that the conversation was over. I asked to speak to the veterinarian, but Billie refused the request. So, I paid $1000, but could not discuss the results with the veterinarian? I will never, ever, visit this place again. read more

So after using a vet in Provincetown and Eastham for 25 years this pasted year they would not answer there phones or emails in Provincetown so I called the Eastham office to complain so then after that I received a letter from Jennifer Colton the hospital manager that she was firing me as a customer. come to find out I'm not the only person that they have discharge from being customers when you complain thank God they did because now I found the best vet on Cape Cod Brewster veterinary Hospital is absolutely great . Wonderfully kind doctors and clinical staff! The front office staff is also very friendly and welcoming. Our pets and we love coming here!

Highly unhappy with their practice. We have an older dog that needed a urine sample as part of her physical. We could not get it the day of the appt. We were told by the office staff to drop it by ANYTIME, we were never told we only had 2 weeks. We had another appointment coming up for a vaccine so we brought the sample then and told them it was part of her wellness visit. By the way they also tried to add a vaccine that was not needed to an older dog. Never looked at her records. When we followed up on the test results we were told they discarded the sample and now want to charge us $80 for a new sample stating we only had 2 weeks from the wellness visit to include the sample in that visit. They not only will not refund us the money for a test not performed they want to charge us for a new sample. No one had the common sense to call us to discuss the sample. They simply discarded a urine on an older dog. Clearly not putting the patient first. Highly disappointed in their practice!! We do like the doctors we have seen but the Manager and Office staff really are not there for the animals. read more

Dr Kaser and his entire team continue to provide personalized care for our 2 dogs. Since they were puppies, one has suffered with allergies. Dr Kaser has works on a plan to keep our guy happy and adjusting the plan when needed. He greets him warmly and continues to keep his happiness and comfort in mind while managing his care. I have been going there with my dogs and cats for one year.. my Golden was limping for a year told me it was arthritis in her elbow in the front paw. But after a year of visits they put her on Rimadyl for one week I called back to tell them she was not doing any better and I really would like a x-ray done they told me to wait another week and give her another dose of Rimadyl my dog fell in the yard broke her shoulder from cancer that was missed she saw two doctors there and the previous doctor from another veterinarian hospital. When no other vet on the Cape would see my cat (short-staffed, not seeing new patients) the folks at Brewster Vet were not only willing to fit us in, but we're extremely attentive and showed concern. Even the "24 hour" hospital couldn't make room! The docs and techs at Brewster were wonderful! They even followed up the next day to make sure our little guy was doing okay. Even though they knew we were just passing through, they encouraged us to call with any issues so that they could help over the phone. read more

Avoid this veterinary practice at all costs as they are clearly sadists. My dog has been on arthritis pain medication (rimadyl) prescribed by the vet for several years. Rather than allow their clients to use a service like chewy.com to order the medications on auto ship and enable the pet to receive their refill medications in a timely fashion, this practice forces their clients to come in monthly in person to pick up their pet's prescriptions so that they can make more money by selling the products they prescribe. (If you scroll back through their years of reviews online you will see the timeliness of refills has been an ongoing complaint from their clientele for many years). The staff are also cruel and have no qualms making a pet owner wait for several days/weeks for a refill. They act blasé about potential stresses caused to the pet from being forced off their medication for 5 days. I first contacted them on Saturday, then again on Monday morning via phone and their text service. I relayed my concerns that my dog needed his medication urgently and I was told the vet tech was working on it and would call me. I called back throughout the day and repeatedly relayed my growing concerns that my dog was declining rapidly and suffering due to the delays in their processing his pain medication. In response they became increasingly hostile, combative and passive aggressive via their text service. I kept requesting to speak with his vet directly to discuss the long-term ramifications of his being forced off his arthritis medication for so long by their incompetence. I went to their offices in person at 2pm on Monday and was then told the vet tech was at lunch. It was unreal that they wouldn't just sell me a simple refill bottle of canine arthritis medication when my pet was obviously suffering. I went back to my house to anxiously await their call while I watched my dog continue to decline. At 5pm I phoned again. They continued to refuse to let me speak to my vet. Via their text service then went on for two hours insisting it was my fault that my dog was now suffering and not their problem. They said they would no longer see my dogs as patients as my distraught texts about my pet 's suffering were "abusive." They admitted then that they had the refill in hand at that juncture and were still there late at the office texting me, yet they continrefused to let me drive to Brewster and pick up the pet's refill medication. To be further retaliatory they told me to drive three hours away to an emergency room that would of cost me several thousand dollars. At that point I was utterly disgusted by this text treatment, told them they were sadists and noted that I would be warning all my friends and neighbors not to go to that vet practice. At that point the admins changed tactics (apparently my pets were no longer banned from their offices) and said I could have an expensive emergency visit the next day on Tuesday with the owner of the practice. They noted they would only give me my pet's prescription refill if I agreed to this very expensive emergency visit by the owner and only after the visit was complete. It was essentially an unnecessary a retaliatory shakedown exam. However, after days of trying to pick up my dog's refill, while my dog's suffering became more palpable, while repeatedly being thwarted by these pithy admins, I was willing to do anything to get my dog out of the pain they had caused by not refilling his medication in a timely manner. I was not impressed by the owner's emergency exam, as he had obviously not bothered to read my dogs file and did not seem to immediately realize that both dogs had just been in two weeks prior for their physicals, blood tests and shots. If some new condition had come up during the owner's exam to attribute to my pet's current suffering it would have made one wonder, why my dog's regular vet didn't notice it two weeks ago at their regular annual exam. The absurdity of their refill position became increasingly awkward. The practice owner obviously knew his admins had caused my dogs suffering from their slovenly processing of refills The practice owner then said they were going to give my dog something for his nausea since my dog hadn't eaten in two days due to the excessive pain he was in, then the admins neglected to give me his nausea medication when I paid his bill on the way out. After their forced "emergency exam" and testing Brewster Vet was unable to identify any additional cause of my dog's obvious pain other than from having been deprived of his arthritis pain medication for several days. The vet techs kept giggling and whispering throughout the course of my visit obviously elated that the owner would encourage them to pursue their cruel and sadistic antics. Do not trust your pet to these torturers. This is like the Costco of vet practices. They have lots of vet techs, but very few actual accredited veterinarians onsite. Greedy and unethical. read more

Terrible experience trying to put our dog down who was in distress. Had made an appointment on a Friday for the upcoming appointment onMonday at 4pm and was told we could have our family in the room during the process. Monday comes and at 10:30 they asked if we could come in at 12pm instead. We told them it didn't work and we needed to hold the 4pm slot. Back and forth we show up for the 4pm appointment on time. The doctor meets us outside the office and during the discussion of what will happen he says he can sedate outside in the parking lot and then bring him inside to finish the procedure without any of us being present. We explained that we were told our family could be present thru the entire procedure and he then said one person could come in. We left and had to make numerous phone calls to find a veterinarian that could take us on such short notice. Not a happy ending to a great dogs life read more

I'll never take my animals anywhere else. Dr. Morgan and Dr. Kaser are the most skilled small animal vets I have been able to find on Cape Cod, and I've looked very thoroughly. They are the only vets I will bring my rats and hedgehog to. My dogs are also very well-treated here. The staff is very friendly and good with animals. It took a little while for us to find a great vet clinic on the Cape, but BVS absolutely fits the bill. My cranky, difficult, elderly, diabetic cat can be a handful, but all the techs, staff, and Drs. Morgan & McStay (the docs I've met so far) are utterly perfect. Dr. Morgan is incredibly sweet and actually took the time to sit down during the visit to talk to me about my cat's health and to give me some tips on keeping him healthy. Dr. McStay is so incredibly calm and understanding with my jerk of a cat, I find that more often than not we end up laughing about his moods rather than everyone getting stressed out. To be honest, all of the staff seem to be in a relaxed mood whenever I go in. They are top-notch in terms of caring about the animals they treat, communicating clearly with families, and making sure that the experience is stress-free. I can't recommend them highly enough. The clinic itself is spotlessly clean as well. read more

They are the absolute WORST vet I've ever brought my dog to. I left him there for a day to be evaluated and they didn't give him any water. I called throughout the day to remind them as he was on prednisone and needed extra water. The receptionist, who wasn't very bright, didn't even know who he was or why he was there. When I picked him up he was as dehydrated as he had been after he had been on his 14 hour plane ride several years ago. They obviously didn't give him ANY water at all. He had torn his CCL and they didn't give him proper pain meds, so he was suffering immensly. They are incompetent, give varying prices depending on whom you speak with and most of the staff are not too intelligent. The incident with not giving my dog water is abuse and neglect- do not bring your pets there!!! read more

I truly cannot say enough positive things about the doctors and staff at Brewster Veterinary Hospital. We were vacationing in Brewster when our elderly bulldog became very ill. We knew in our hearts it was time for us to help him pass to the next place. Since we didn't have relationships with any veterinarians in Cape Cod, we called the closest one. The Brewster office was fully booked but went out of their way to accommodate us. They provided us with a room in which to spend time with our dog during his final moments. The doctor was professional, compassionate and warm. They never made us feel rushed or like strangers during what was a heartbreaking experience. Unfortunately, we had our two very young children and our puppy with us and they were wonderful with all of our boys. When we left they even offered for us to settle the bill at a better time. We didn't, but couldn't believe how trusting they were. We received a beautiful, handwritten card in the mail three days later expressing their condolences. This office guided us through a difficult time, truly made us feel safe and most of all welcome. We don't live on the Cape, but if we did, we would never go anywhere else. In memory of Ricky... RIP my little guy, wasn't your time. Ricky was brought in for a routine neuter, which was botched terribly. He was so oversedated that when I finally HAD to pick him up because they were closing, he was STILL heavily sedated! In fact, he was exactly the same, (lethargic, barely able to pull himself a couple steps before collapsing) the next morning! So I took him in to MY vet, who then closed his incisions because they were never even closed!!! Apparently they never heard of gluing instead of suturing!?!? Ricky NEVER should have been released in a nearly catatonic state to begin with! He passed away in my lap the next day, finally losing his battle to regain full consciousness. I would NEVER bring any pet here ever again. I was never even given an apology or an "I'm sorry for your loss", instead I was rudely told that death is always a risk with anesthesia! Really!?!? Is that your idea of compassion!!! How about this.... You never should have so severely over-sedated him and then made me take him just so you could close up shop! # disgusted! RIP Ricky read more
