I just finished a two-hour Short Game Clinic with Justin and three other golfers. Justin covered Putting, Chipping, Pitching and the "dreaded" Sand Bunker shot. Justin broke down putting into three key tips on putting and as a high handicapper it made putting simple and more reactive and less thinking. Justin's Chipping tips and practice were creative and something to use on my next round. Pitching tips and practice were extremely helpful and excited to use at Stadium's Golf Short Course. Justin gave very clear steps to get out of the sand and I even rolled a ball into the hole. Thank God one of the other golfers saw it. Awesome coach that tailors to your goals as a golfer. I just recently had a lesson with Justin at Stadium Golf, and it was extremely helpful. I'd been golfing pretty regularly for about 4 years, and I just wasn't seeing the improvement that I was expecting to see. I'd never had a lesson before, so it took a while to convince myself that I really needed one. For the first few minutes, Justin and I went over my golfing experience. We talked in detail about the strengths and weaknesses of my golf game and the main things I really wanted to improve upon. I told him that I thought ball striking with my mid-long irons was costing me a lot of strokes, so he said we could focus on that for our lesson. After warming up for a few minutes, he recorded a few of my 6 iron swings from face on and down-the-line camera angles and then went over the biggest flaws that were causing my poor ball striking. He then gave me very simple and specific drills I could do to improve some of those things. At the end of the lesson, he created a 3 minute video summary of the most important parts of my lesson. This included commentary about my swing from different camera angles, demonstrations of how to perform the drills he assigned, and swings of tour pros that he thought would be good to emulate. He then emailed me the video so that I could go back for quick reminders after the lesson. Overall, it was a really good first lesson experience. I felt like he focused on what I wanted to accomplish and then gave me the tools I needed to achieve my own personal goals. read more

When we moved to San Diego a number of years ago, my son decided he wanted to take up golf as high school sport. He had played a few times, using my old clubs and shooting in the upper 80's and occasionally mid 90's. Never took a lesson prior to living in San Diego. His grip was a typical baseball grip and his consistency was all over the place. Frustration was pretty high, and we had tried 2 PGA certified professionals at Golf Courses (which I do not recommend, and will not mention where we went.) We had often gone to Stadium to hit golf balls, and they certainly have a number of Pro's there, but my son looked over all of them and thought that Justin would be the one we should invest our time into. After 3 lessons, Justin had changed my son's grip, his swing, his stance and his overall attitude about the game. Anyone who has ever played golf, knows that its not a game you can muscle through or get by with simple athletic ability. My son's biggest hurdle was to be patient with his progress and practice what Justin was telling him. Having a second set of eyes on him, and helping him see his mistakes either thru comments or video - really helped. Over the course of 3 years, and probably 20-30 lessons (either there at Stadium, or walking on courses while playing with Justin), my son's score has dropped to averaging around par on most courses. His attitude has changed dramatically about the game, and he considers Justin a friend and mentor. He became one of the better high school golfers in the city, and placed well in local and state wide tourney's. (best scores - non tournament play - 62 at Mt. Woodson, 68 at Carmel Mountain Ranch.. tournament play - 69 at Red Hawk, 69 at SCGA in temecula and 71 at PGA west in Palm Springs) Justin was a rare find and truly helped my son develop into a better golfer. Golf is not a one lesson type of sport to excel at, but if you have the time and the attitude to work toward improving your game - then Justin is your guy. read more

Just broke par for the first time and couldn't be happier! Right from the start you know Justin won't be forcing you into his system. He asks tons of questions about your experience and what you would like to get out of your lessons with him. He won't pressure you into changes you aren't comfortable with and the video analysis from each lesson gives you something to refer back to time and time again. I came to Justin for a golf lesson on the recommendation from my brother. Justin is definitely a student of the game and knows his stuff. He is very friendly and provides great insight. I will continue to use Justin for my golf instruction because my goal is to win the 2015 Masters. Well, not really. But I want to score well and have an idea of what is going on with my swing. The session was not rushed and Justin really took his time explaining why things are/aren't happening... and why he suggests certain changes to your setup, grip, and swing. He had me watch videos of pro's to see what they do while playing golf. The things they focus on, etc. Justin would also have me watch him swing the club while explaining to me what to look for. I've had a golf instructor before and he wasn't nearly as interactive with me. Justin will also record the lesson highlights on video and give a nice narration and recommendations for practice sessions. Without this, I probably would have forgotten some key elements to remember when it is time to practice. I look forward to improving my game with Justin's help. read more

I visited Justin for a lesson a few months ago and I can't say enough great things. My lesson with Justin was different than any other lesson I have had. I grew up playing golf, have worked at golf courses all through high school and college, and ended up playing college golf. I've spent countless hours working with different teachers. The typical lesson goes like this: meet the pro, talk for 5 minutes about goals, start doing video analysis, the pro tells you 5 things to work on, and off you go. Justin's lesson couldn't have been more different. We first talked on the phone for 15+ minutes. He wanted to know everything about my game and what my issues were. During the lesson we literally talked for about 45 minutes, which is exactly what I needed! He quickly focused in on my mental game issues and my history of over analyzing. We talked about goals, fear on the course, process, what to focus on during the round, and pre shot routine. Going in I didn't need a mechanical lesson, I needed mental coaching, and that is exactly what Justin did. The results have been significant! During college my handicap was around a 2. It ballooned up to about an 8-10 over the last year. Over my last 8 rounds since the lesson I have probably been around a 4. I'll for sure be going back. I highly recommend Justin! read more

Justin is fantastic; I really like his approach to tailor the lesson to the student's golf goals and physical abilities. He's also very good at keeping lessons focused and not changing too much every time. The prior instructor I worked with was giving me a checklist every week and it was overwhelming. Justin also very good at editing the video so that you can refresh your memory of the lesson and as a bonus the video has always been emailed to me within 24 hrs if not the same day... I played maybe 5 times in my youth and at 44 years old my wife and I decided to learn. After 8 weeks of weekly 1 hr lessons my swing has improved significantly. I started playing golf 8 years ago and worked very hard to get to the 14 handicap and stalled big time.
