The chef/owner is personable, but unfortunately, he's also a dishonest businessman we booked the upstairs room. He gave us the downstairs hallway. It was a party of 20 for a wedding, He sat with us and talked for a good 10 minutes about his food, his restaurant he did not mention the fact that he had moved the entire wedding party from the upstairs party room to the hallway downstairs. it made for a very uncomfortable party. Went for lunch. Bill was over $40 and I got a BLT with a bag of Lays Chips and my husband got the seafood tacos with a few fries. They didn't seem to be able to handle their lunch crowd. Prices are high for food I could easily make at home. The turkey blt was two pieces of white bread, cold turkey, swiss cheese and lettuce (no tomato per my request). Was on a mini vacay from two hours south of this area. After a long day at the springs and an hour of searching through yelp for a restaurant worth going to, I decided on this gem. Started at the bar, bartenders are extra enthusiastic. Host was helpful and bubbly as we were a bit early for our reservation. MUST ASK ABOUT THE SPECIALS! Small menu for good reason because every item was clearly long thought out and SCRATCH KITCHEN! Which I adore duh. Our server was very informative and on top of things, even the bus boy was on it 100%. (A staff that actually likes their job is refreshing now a days) The food... oh my gosh, fresh quality ingredients and a modern take on classic dishes! I was not disappointed, from the Cuban quesadilla appetizer to the very tasty balsamic chicken with fresh mozzarella entree. My roommate got tuna crudo.it was good.( could've been little more tuna) ordered dinner.I ordered Mojo roast pork. NO mention it was pulled pork ugh ( I don't like pulled pork) got half a caprese salad.the balsamic reduction was burnt.not impressed.roomy got filet with crab meat.waitress said " a woman just ordered that I told her should put a shrimp skewer on top."my roomy said OK sounds good. Asked for bread 4 times? Alls done asked bout desert. I ordered crème brulé. Came back and said oops were out.I said OK fine.here's the real pisser that got me THE CHECK. This was a first time for us. We both had the cobia special, served with buttermilk mashed potatoes and roasted brussel sprouts. Some bread, 2 garlic rolls, accompanied our beverages. Andi, the waitress was very attentive and informative. The salad was served first, fresh greens with a chick pea relish (my term, not theirs). It came with a balsamic vinaigrette. The salad was nice, crisp, and lightly dressed. The entree was char grilled cobia. It was cooked to perfection! Flavorful, succulent, with a smoky flavor you get from grilling. It was delish! The brussel spouts were delightfully flavored and roasted to a nice caramelized degree. The only negative was the temperature of the potatoes, not piping hot - but then I am sure a microwave is not to be found in the kitchen. The presentation could have been a bit more artistic, but when it tastes as good as it did, that minor point can be overlooked. Overall, a wonderful dinner, wonderful waitress, and a very reasonable price. The 2 specials, 3 adult beverages, and a coke came to $75 (without tip). I highly recommend. read more

Recently returned to Brian's Place for our 4th visit. The first 2 visits everything was great! The last 2 however where so bad I'll never spend another cent in this place. The quality of the food dropped, my wife and I where treated like second class citizens. My wife gets the same meal every time. When her salmon arrived to the table it was burnt and dry. At the waiters insistence we sent the salmon back to be redone. The chef sent the dish back to the table and said "thats how it's made". Very disappointing being that it never looked like that the previous 3 visits and the customer service skills or lack there of! Never again. read more

I have never been dissatisfied or disappointed in a meal that I ordered at Brian's place. The atmosphere is laid back but not sloppy, and the food is fabulous. My only sadness is that Covid seemed to kill my favorite dish. I got the garlic olive oil sirloin and my husband got asiago salmon. Both were horrible. I ordered my steak rare. I was medium and so dry. No flavor at all. I feed it to my dog. My wife had the Crispy Eggplant and Fresh Mozzarella Burger (8oz Grilled Burger Topped with Crispy Breaded Eggplant, Fresh Mozzarella, Mixed Greens, Tomato and Basil-Honey Mustard on a Toasted Bakery Bun). She said, "Don't take a picture of it, no one will know what it is". But she said it absolutely fabulous, the best she has ever had. My Mom had the Brian's Grilled Reuben, my Dad had the Crab Cake Sandwich. All was wonderful Tomorrow night is a Motown band out of Tampa, 50's crowd expected. It should be fun. I've been here twice, both times I was very happy with the food. We enjoyed a few appetizers to start, I would highly recommend the eggplant and coconut crusted shrimp. My husband ordered a special which was the rack of lamb, extremely well prepared and very tasty. I had the Chile chicken, I thought it was nicely seasoned and pretty tasty. The chicken was a little thick so part of it was a tad dry but overall a very good meal. My mother-in-law ordered the crabcake entrée and it was fantastic. Would definitely recommend someone getting that at your table so everyone can try it :)). The only reason I took off the star was because the place itself feels a little overcrowded. I know it's because of the venue layout and popularity, but it just feels like you're a little crammed in. Also, parking is crazy. Live music was just starting as we were leaving, and the band sounded excellent! Would definitely come back on a different night just to enjoy the live music read more

My wife and I have eaten here a few times and it has always been very good but we went for brunch and it was very sad. My wife had the shrimp and grits and the grits were ice cold after waiting an hour for them to come out. We ordered a Moho pork to go and the waitress double billed us for it and said she did it so they knew it was to go and didn't offer to fix it till I told her to do the math. I had the Latin omelette which was ok but the potatoes were cold I didn't bother to send it back their dinner has always been very good but bunch was a very big disappointment. read more
